The little things in GT6 that surprised you

The cars have more personality now. Like economy cars have crap brakes and handle very poorly if suped up. In GT5 all of the cars basically handled the same.

I would echo that and perhaps go a bit further - so far all of the cars I have driven have felt like they each have their own personalities, definitely something that was missing from GT5. Even adding a few tuning options to the cars now does not completely remove the personalities that they have. Loving it!

I agree with you and leeson both.

There are a few things per day that surprise me it seems, and it's a nice feeling. A lot of the excitement and fun has returned to GT with GT6. Not that I noticed it was missing in GT5 at the time - retrospectively I think by comparison GT5 was a tad sterile. It's GT6's vibrancy that catches me each time - a simple sunset, the variety of new tracks, a splash of stars across the night sky.

All good stuff and yet some say it's the same as GT5...

A little gem I found earlier. It seemes like the reflectors in premium car headlights reflect the enviorment! I don't know how well (as I only saw it in a replay), but just seeing the green from trees around, or the yellow house I just passed in the lights just adds that little extra

That it paled in comparison to a Hacked GT5.

How PD actually adds bumps in the roads, something other racing games fail to do.

In other racing games, roads are flat other than elevation changes or banked turns. Have you ever driven on a road that was completely smooth? (Of course you have, but most aren't) this is something that should be extremely important to the racing genre. Bumps in the road can offset the balance of the car and make it much more challenging and fun IMO

Go take a relatively fast car with racing hard suspension on the nordschliefe and tell me you don't feel all of the bumps in the road. They are constantly changing the balance of the car. I had such a blast in my tuned S200 just before.

GT5 had it as well, but GT6 has it even better.

This is amazing news. I hated that about GT5. So much that I refused to tune my "special" cars just so they retained their personality. I loved my stock F40 and Mclaren F1.

Haven't got to play the game much as yet but loved:-

1. The fireworks after winning the race & the guy waving the chequered flag.
2. The new UI of the game. It seems more practical now.
3. Being able to select the paint colour of the prize car. WOW.
4. The loading times seem to have reduced.

Wait, what cars can you add a sunroof to?

The graphics in the Goodwood Festival of Speed are amazing, like playing my PS4.
If only all of the game looked that good!

- Full set of working dash instruments on the Clio R.S, Evoque, Boss 302, Cobra Daytona, both XBows and the LCC Rocket.

- Working ambient thermometers on some cars.

- Music from the past.

- The drives on the moon. :D

- The added/improved car personalisation touches here and there.

- Choosing the colour of prize cars.

- The occasional touched-up standard car.

Did you listen to that thing with a full stereo set?? I just came from the Goodwood challenge with the Redbull and I was content every time I ran off track because then I could hear that snapping and crackling and popping sound at the start again. Wow.
Wait until you buy one and rip around tracks with that thing. And yes, mu surround sound system had to cranked all the way up after the Goodwood time trial, dricing it around Spa is amazing, every down shift, acceleration is so incredible. I wish all cars sounded that good in GT6.

There are bumps on willow springs too

Although I think they went too far with it, but I noticed the most of the MR's pretty much have too much drop-throttle oversteer. I've only driven a couple and neither was as exaggerated as they are in the game.

Conversely, I love the new tire model, the "sports" tires seem to fit the street cars much better than previously. However, I'm not sure if the compounds will test out to be competetive against each other (i.e. if 2 stints on softs is competitve to one on hards).

People just can't get over their gripes. You have no idea how angry I am about the lack of (visible) enduros but I won't let that ruin the game for me...even if I nearly did.

The real driver names on PSN.

I'm happy to see the enduros go, A Spec was not very challenging unless you used an underpowered car then your dealing with the odd AI driving behavior. I particularly hated the long B Spec races, they effectively destroyed my PS3... so once again, I'm happy to see them go.

Well you didn't have to do them. I hope the endurance races are added in.

"Base Model" race cars... so you can have a one-make where every car doesn't look the same. Shocked me to see them do something so practical and useful to the online community. Didn't shock me to see that they didn't do enough of it. As it's rather randomly implemented

Heres one that hasn't been mentioned yet. Next time youre racing the AI and there's a convertible car with its top down on the track, get behind him and honk. The driver will look back at you.

EDIT - Nooo! My .gif avatar isn't animated anymore :(
