just imagine! with the blu ray discs, and all, it'd be good if you could blow up buildings and you could hear it on the news, and the building would be repaired by builders and stuff!

I CAN'T WAIT! and i'm not even 18!

I wouldn't think it will be as big as San Andreas, but it should definitely be more immersive.

I hope the cities will be alive now... not empty with some drones symbolizing people walking about. I'm talking real interaction with people. People crying after you steal their car. Being able to steal candy from an infant.

GTA4 thread HERE.

Edit: In the thread:

The next Grand Theft Auto game is going to look really good. Actually, maybe that should be feel good. It's a no-brainer that on the most powerful games console yet, one of our favorite series will have have better graphics. But, based on developer Rockstar North's technical research, GTA4 will be more about immmersion than just mere eye candy.
Rockstar North is creating a specialized game engine for PS3 that will bring GTA4 to life to a degree that the PS2 games could only hint at. Specifically, they're going to be using the high data transfer bandwith of the Cell CPU, RSX GPU, and Blu-ray Disc to use several streams of game into simultaneously. The game's city - unfornately yet to be even hinted at - will still be free-roaming and seamless, but broken down into smaller, more detailed areas at the engine level, into which the game designers are going to be able to pour more textures, more object variety, and tons of little details (such as discarded soda cans with their own physics), just for starters. The goal is a city that's less repetiveand where everything - and everyone - looks and acts more like they would in the real world on every level.

God, please don't start talking about this yet...I don't have the energy to be excited for sometyhing coming in a year and a alf or even two years....*sigh*

Man I cannot WAIT for this Game! I want to steal and drive a submarine! I want a house boat or yacht as a safe house with a helicopter landing pad on it. so you can have a mobile safe house. once its achor is out, boom, your good to go! I want a machine gun like in the gangster movies in the 30's. I want a tazer, cross-bow and or bow and arrows ( god that would be fun ) I want to be able to stop at all of the sports places and play the actual sport, tennis, golf, basketball ( like in SA ) Baseball, whatever. I want to be able to take over a warehouse and save 50 cars. God, I am greedy lol !

jeez you want alot (and i totally agree with you)

also i would like to be able to put cars in trasporter trucks without them falling out, i don't want the state to be a perfect sqaure shape (like that would happen) i want more than one area, being able to fly to places around the world, we want real cars (you can download packs n stuff for the pc version now) we want the andromeda plane to transport vehicles across long distances, we want a free roaming garage entering plane flying two player mode,

and most of all, WE WANT IT TO BE REALISTIC

(plus loads of other stuff)

WANT IT TO BE REALISTIC

I think realism would kill this game, keeping it's "animated" feel, the surreal effect, is what makes it thrive so.

I think a living breathing world would be cool, something that resembles modern day, but realism would take it too far, people would be disappointed. Keeping what they have now (as far as feel) is what makes the game fun. Realism = two bullets and your dead. One car swipe and your dead. Crashed car and your dead.

Realism isn't the key to fun :P Unless it's a sim.

There is already a bit of stuff about the next GTA title in the GTA sub-forum here , in particular the thread that G.T. pointed out above, here.
