Thanks so much Ronin! And wish you a great 2014 too buddy!

That entry is so interesting! And I love that Aston shot as well! 👍
Again, I'm glad you find it interesting too Ciro! When I was doing the shot, I knew it was the kind that some people would like and some just wouldn't know what the hell was going on but what the hell  . Nice to know you guys like it  . Thanks alot!

Love your aston shot! ;)

That 2.0 is nice too. It's a shame the textures are so poor (I know we don't drive cars down there :D But us, photomothers, we like to see everything clean and sharp hehe).
Haha, yea Z I agree, the textures down there are hideous, which is why I went for the blur, besides wanting to create a sort of "falling down into the abyss" effect. Would've been nice if the streams, bridges and greenery in the distance were more detailed, but oh well.
Thanks for stopping by and appreciating mate :)

 Thanks Eric! Yeah, quite a texturous phase I seem to be at lately, I need to lay off the booze for want of a creative high I reckon!
What ? You haven't found the bar yet? The waitresses around here have been getting too complacent lately. My bad, how does a year's supply of beer sound ?

WRS Diaries

Right so, was working on these couple of shots last night. As is obvious, I'm having a go at the WRS Qualifier and the folks down there are having a photo competition based on the car-track combos selected for the Time trials. This is what I've come up with:

I'm really doubtful as to whether the Aston or this is my favourite personal shot now

Hope you love it much as I do, again, thanks for stopping by

Brilliant Goodwood pictures, thanks for the tutorial, must give a try. Into the abyss is fine, I tried to make a bridge. Killer BMW picture, would be printed for official Motorsport press kit.

Bravo Sean and happy new year

That Mégane picture is really nice, good light and toning. The BMW edit looks very neat too.

Awesome! The BMW picture reminds me of a thread I did in GT5 photo forum, maybe I should bring it back. ;)👍

No problem Herve, would love to see you make use of textures!
And I'm thrilled to know you think the BMW pic is worthy enough to be "official", thanks alot man!
And Happy 2014 to you too!

Was it you who crated the advertisment thread at the time? That place was such an inspiration to me. Coincidentally, it struck me the other day that no one did the same on this side of the forums so I took the initiative here .
Glad you like the shot, thanks for stopping by johan! :)

Into the Abyss is a very creative shot! It's so awesome!;)

Also your Megane shot looks great! Good composition and toning.👍

Ouch, your last work is really superb Sean !
The road to paradise is a artistic and poetic, just beautiful 👍 the quattro in the Goodwood Diaries part III is awesome, great edit work on it ! The One77 pic just looks like a real advert' ! And the last two pictures looks also real with a beautiful use of light 👍
Splendid as usual my friend !

The BMW M3GT ad is pretty sweet. I like it. The toning and action feel and also your headline, although were it an actual ad the type would likely be much larger but I like what you wrote. 👍

Thanks Nux! :) I was doubtful of whether people would really like "Into the Abyss" or not. I'm glad you appreciate the creativity man, thanks alot

I really appreciate you telling me about the ad type George, that's what I'm looking for, how to make it all better. Thanks alot for that and the kind words bud :)

The M3 GT is really well captured, and great advert lines!👍

THanks Ciro! :D

Heyday

Was a really frustrating journey, getting to this shot to be honest. Had the idea, but not the perfect shot ( I miss GT5's old photomode locations), and really, I wasn't pleased with the original. To think I almost chucked the idea. But then I decided to go with the flow somehow, one thing led to another, and I ended up with what you see. Perhaps my most ambitious project yet, took me all day to conjure . The shot's got a lot of elements that have been of influence to me in someway. Hope you find them all, and love it much as I do

To be honnest the rain effect doesn't work very well... The reflection is good but the rain doesn't look realistic. And it's hard to say that because I love all the other elements of this pic : composition, toning, grafitis incrustations and most of all the atmosphere of the pic which is really excellent
Great work my friend !

I agree with Jeremy. The concept behind this is great, however there are a couple of things that could make the execution a little better. I noticed that the background is out of focus which should mean that the graffiti should be out of focus too. Adding a bit of Gaussian blur to the graffiti should make it seem more natural. As Jeremy mentioned, the rain does seem a little too artificial. I haven't created a decent rain edit yet, so I can't really say what needs to be done.

All in all this is still a cool edit mate!;)👍

Thank you boys for the Kind words and most of all, for the observations. I took a long hard look after I sobered down this morning, and realised there were quite a lot of flaws in the edit work. As Jeremy pointed out, the rain did indeed look artificial, a bit too linear. And like Nux said too, the focii were all a bit messed up. Guess I really hadn't planned the thing out right, had ideas coming to me like a freight train and I just went with the flow, aided by a few drinks ofcourse

So I went back to the drawing board this morning and started from the feet up. Took a new photo, and added a lot more elements, spent a bit longer than the previous edit, doing things systematically. Here's the final product, do share your thoughts and again, thanks for the feedback :)👍

GoodWood Diaries Pt. IV

Well it's been a long time since I last updated. Oh well, back to the grind at college and the usual. Had taken these shots a week back but decided to grab a drink and do some editing this weekend, so here goes :)

First up, one of my personal favourite shots. Halfway through the edit and down a few glasses of whisky, I decided to go the "advertisement" path.

Then I wake up the next morning, not exactly sober to be honest. Have a glass of beer and decide to tackle the next shot; One of my favourite cars, thought I'd do but a simple edit.

And then, the beer wears off. Just before hitting the weights I'm struck by this idea. Why not turn my pending Lancia Stratos shot into a 1970's advert for said company? Call me obsessive, but off late I seem to have developed a fetish for designing automotive ads. After an hour of getting the photo right, to two hours of thinking it out ( an hour involved mass. Oh am I a sinner ) here's what I did:

Phew, finally got myself to update my gallery. Now for that refill

You always manage to catch some amazing reflections that make the shot so realistic. Love the ad series, appreciate the work gone into it.

How the heck did I miss your gallery?!?! Better late then never. I went and faved a bunch on Flickr. Amazing work bud! You have the exquisite magazine style photography down to an art! I love this last update so much! Each one is so powerful/realistic/artistic/.....basically you hit every checkbox. Just incredible edits between the lighting, texture/dust work and toning, phew! New BIG fan here. Followed you on flickr as well. Can't wait to see more!

I like the Lancia ad thing best. Great shot and the tonign suits the age of the car. The added dirt and dust is a nice touch. 👍 The only thing that bothers me a little is the type margin on the left is too tight. But because I'm a designer I always look for little things like that. So don't worry it's just me being picky. :P

Splendid work in these last edit 👍
Each pic has a great composition which fit perfectly the purpose of the edit work and this last is just excellent 👍 The Alfa and the Stratos ones have a very realistic aspect and the countach is a classical Rambo artistical one :)
Each time a real pleasure to watch your work Sean

The Countach and Stratos edits are fantastic works, love 'em. ;)👍

No problem man!

Stick some posts on the page, get some more people over here! :)

First off, apologies for the delay in replying to all of you who took the time to stop by and leave a comment. Been away from the photo-mode forums for over a month now, hanging around the WRS section really where I've been working on my driving. That and an inexplicable loss of interest in photo-editing here; think it grew a bit repetitive really.

Anyway, after a drink last night, I felt like getting back at it and throwing in a little number ( Couldn't even find my damn gallery before I realized about the link on my signature  ). And now that I'm here, I'll soon get to all of your galleries and see for myself what I've been missing. But till then, here's

The Escapade

The above is the 2.0 competition version.

Loved this machine.
