And when was the BoP last adjusted? Couple of weeks ago now when the last update was released? Since then the Beetle has been the top car on leaderboards and in races for most tracks... there's been nothing done about it, and PD should really look into responding faster to what are clearly 'errors' in their BoP measurements.

A) You can’t trust a data set until you get a large enough sample size. This means you don’t make BOP changes every week or two

B) I, as many others have stated, have not noticed an epidemic of Beetle dominance
 
Lol, you can definitely notice it's advantage, I was taking corners 10mph faster than other Gr.3 cars and it's so quick in a straight line. Nevertheless it's pretty fun.
 
When are they gonna nerf these ****ing beetles man how is that fair ??? They win every single match online it don't make no goddamn sense

I’d be happy to concede the point if someone would post some data, but instead it’s “hurr durr this one thing happened to me this one time and it was a BEETLE”

You can’t do jack with andctodal evidences.

It’s the same story for people who think foreigners are worse drivers online because they have inherent selection bias and notice bad driving more when the flag is not their own country’s.

This is what makes the Gr.4 McLaren so useless. It handles really well, but the gear ratios are so rubbish that cars will often pull away from me driving it even when I'm in their slipstream...

I did in the beginning , now I don't notice that much. With equal drivers it does have an advantage but it doesn't mean it will get 1st from 10-20th place starting position. There are many good drivers with other cars that can get 1st place with most of the Gr.3 cars.

I'd have to say, anecdotally, that most I've been near in races (so not at the front, haha) haven't looked anything like as competent as their quali times would suggest. Nor were they lapping all that quickly.

They brake and get into a corner very well indeed. I found it hard to get used to braking that late compared to other cars I've been using (458, 911, Huracan). Makes them a dream for an 'aggressive' driver - which I'm sure helps to get them noticed.

However, this happens to be factual data, albeit on a track where you'd expect them to be good even if the BoP was better:

Usually at least one alien can manage to get some other car in there.
 
I noticed it was really quick vs the ai in arcade mode but didn't have time to try it in sport.

Totally agree, I'm just pointing out that while the beetle might be slightly better - it's dangerous to nerf things simply because the community cries wolf.
More often than not, things that are "overpowered" end up being tuned too far in the wrong direction and then become extinct.
 
The Porsche got nerfed recently, I'd expect them to do the same with the Beetle, they're not doing enough to make the BOP work for manufacturers championship, from what I've seen so far there are far too many cars in Gr3 that are totally uncompetitive online.

I think PD have definitely picked their favourites here, especially when the competitiveness of the real world GT3's are the total opposite to real life.
 
I don't judge you based on your flag or based on you using the car people have perceived as the best car. I have no problem people using the 911. I really had no problem with people using the GTR.

I DO judge you if you use the Beetle, simply because it's a Beetle. And if you value your lap times over your own personal pride and consciously choose to drive a Beetle, you are, in my opinion, the worst of human beings.
 
I'm hoping the BoP will be adjusted on it soon, because there are just far too many overly aggressive drivers using it who don't have the driving sensitivity and finesse to drive anything else that is less forgiving. I've watched many of them who do very fast times and you would never get away with such crude inputs in real life - it gives them a false sense of security which is why we see so many incidents on entry with them driving it, all compounded by at least one assist other than ABS.

Yes, this is a rant on behalf of some friends plus all those videos I've witnessed which has been amplified by being taken out twice from sanctioned A races with no apologies either.....sort of fits the people that drive them very aggressively.

9 out of 10 cars in the top 10 are Beetles on the Alsace - Village daily race in my region. Would be interesting to see how many there are in the top 100 or so.

That's a bit harsh! It's a game and choosing whatever car for whatever specific reason doesn't make people the worst human beings, There's a hell of a lot more serious things happening in the world were you can find the real scum of the earth at the forefront! but people gaming and looking for an edge... nah that's not causing anyone any harm other than the odd headache and some frustration, stop being so dramatic ;)👍

It seems to be the only car I've seen either today or when Alsace was chosen for a Gr.3 daily race last week that can do 1.51's.
 
Yes, it is by far the most popular car in the game. If you go into private lobbies without BoP you just know that half of the field will be Beetles, because there's no way to challenge them in the Gr.3 class if you don't balance that power somehow.

It is a bit harsh. After all, a Gr.3 Beetle is surely more credible than a Gr.3 PT Cruiser.

Crap. PD might read this and troll us...
 
The beetle is great with assists, if you turn them all off including the magic countersteer it’s an animal.

I would prefer they limited assists on FIA races to be honest, and on daily races... it should balance the driver levels at least.
 
I dont really see too much of an advantage with the Gr3 Beetle, I was using it in a daily race at Interlagos and had a great battle with a guy in a WRX. It seems a lot of these cars, the real deciding factor is the driver. Granted, all cars are going to perform better in specific areas than others. Gr4 example is the Renault Megane, that thing is a monster in a straight line, but torque steers like crazy...

Not just for the game though. I take into account the outside world and if they have the audacity to choose a Beetle as their car of choice then what other questionable life choices are they making?

Just because there are bad people in the public view doesn't mean that these disturbed individuals driving Beetles in GTS wouldn't be worse given the opportunity to be in a position of power. I'm looking at the big picture here.

And, ahem...
