Well what a race. 15 starters, and no DC's. Tyre tactics certainly played a big part in this race. All tables will be updated tomorrow, and posted on the thread. Massive thanks to everyone for making The Sunday Cup the best Sunday evening entertainment in the World. For now we celebrate the podium sitters in their glory. Wow.. What a fantastic race that was, with 15 drivers on the grid :crazy:

Was a really hard race from start to finish and a really intense quali for me as I grabbed a new set of tyres and improved on my last lap with the race timer ticking down I crossed the line with about 3 secs to spare and luckily improved my lap :)

I enjoyed the early door to door racing with Socal.. Thanks for that đź‘Ť

Congratulations to Jim.. Superb driving mate.. I just couldn't catch ya.. :bowdown:

I had a great time as always, moment of the race for me must be Cobrius, Jamesy and myself flying 3wide towards the chicane, first class racing!

I'll take 4th and hope to be back on the podium soon. Congratulations go to Jim, Dan and Jamesy for the podium!
 
I really enjoyed the racing last night. 15 starters, and 15 finished. I chose to qualify on the medium tyre, and started my race in 10th place on the grid. Everyone got around turn 1 nice and safe and the race was on. At NGK shikane, Happysilvia missed his braking point, and tried to help me around the corner, but the concrete got in the way and I regained the race in 12th. I may have got in Rosens way a bit after the incident, sorry if I did. After pitting to the faster tyre after lap 5, it wasnt too long before I was catching up, and in the later stages of the race my tyre choice paid off. I was pleased to finish 7th, and picked up my biggest haul of points, in the biggest race yet. I would like to thank you all again for participating in The Sunday Cup.....đź‘Ť

JIMFTR has missed 3 races, so is out of the championship hunt, but managed to get pole position and fastest lap again, and only needs to get one more double to win both prizes for this.

There has been a small mix up in the driver standing this week and Cobani's lead has gone down to 12 points over Dan, with Goodwolf in 3rd place overall, but only 2 points ahead of Jamesy.

Dont forget to do the final upgrade for the next race. Install last upgrade option, and increase power to 276 BHP.

Sorry about that Ade as I didn't expect the lag when a lot of cars are in the section, same as in the hairpin with Omnius :(. I will take caution when there are group of cars together.

This is also my second race that I could not see goodwolf racing on the track very odd....... :confused:

Yeah, this missing driver thing is a pain in the flaps. It may help if you have everyone added on your PSN list. I hardwired my PS3 last night, and it did seem to help a little bit, as we didnt lose anyone during the race.

No worries, I tried to give some room for you. :)


I knew I was several seconds after the front and even the midfield so my ambitions was low. Gladly I had a couple of laps battling with Omnius which was fun, even though I was left behind... :)

Good race last night, I had a lonely race I couldnt keep up with Jim so spent most of the time by myself, until I came out of the pits next to Jamsey and had a little battle, but cold medium tyres against soft tyres not much of a chance.

Then I had to pull over quickly as I heard a big bang from upstairs (kids), I dont think I caused any problems when I pulled over I hope not.

Great series Ade Thanks for your time in running it, I wont be able to make the last two races thought I would just miss next weeks but just relized I come back from the weekend away for the last race, so Ill be in no fit state :).

Ill keep an eye out if you do another series I enjoyed the racing great job by all đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ť.

Series 3 is well into the development stage now. The car has been chosen, and like S2 we will start the series with real life performance settings. Season 2 ends on Oct 21st, and I am planning to do a couple of specials before the end of the year (a bit like the Jubilee race). Season 3 will start in February 2013, a year since I started this, and all current SC drivers will receive advanced invitations to join. (if they want to). đź‘Ť

I do to Cobani. Seeing others input into the thread, and the busy grid each race tells me all I need to know to keep SC going. It does take time to organise, and update the table's etc, but the quality racing makes it all worth it.

Just been reading about the tyre wear with the new update.. It seems the tyres last a lot longer now..

Series 3 sounds good already Ade.. I bet I can guess the car.. But I wont ;)
 
I just did 15 laps of GP/F on the soft tyre to see how the tyre wear is after the update.. They definitely last longer.. I was pushing it really hard every lap, had a few slides and heated up the rears and this is how they look at the end of it. http://flic.kr/p/dejPQV

I wasn't able to get near my best lap time, with the best only a mid 04.. Car doesn't feel much different to drive though.. I also noticed you can now hear the turbo a little more in bumper cam. đź‘Ť

Good work Dan. with an increase in tyre life, strategys will be less effective. Maybe adding a few laps for the last 2 races will make a difference. What does everyone think about this?

You are right, it would mean adding about 5 or 6 minutes to each race. I will run some tests tomorrow for lap times.
