Also, a guy asks me for help with his fic idea. It's an NMM returns Grimdark/Epic/sad where everypony but Twilight dies in a brutal torture scene at the end.

So tempted to tell him to gtfo my Skype. I told him noone will read Grimdark, nevermind hardcore torture like that.

But seriously, this guy thinks this fic is a good idea.

Oh, and a TwiDash subplot, for drama when Dash...

Rainbow is going to be suspended by her wings, multiple small lacerations allong her body so she dies slowly, she actually manages to get free by breaking one of her wings and the other one ends up getting severed by the sudden drop from one side

Is not a good idea for a good range of reasons, the first one would be Cupcakes and all the crap that it has gotten into it, the other is that it isn't an original concept and finally that kind of grimdark doesn't work, not even with proper pacing.

Those are radical concepts that just doesn't work. And that sneak peak makes me think that it is written for the grimdark scenes exclusively with no pacing whatsoever, which makes it worst.

So basically it's Grimdark for the sake of being Grimdark? I know there are people out there who would happily read this sort of stuff (Cupcakes style torture and the like), but what makes him think that such a story is a good idea anyway? As akira said, the idea certainly doesn't sound original.

Wow, that's messed up. Don't see a point writing something like this, unless it's for those who enjoy pointless killing. I'm glad you sent him far away.

No...he's still here.

I basically told him that noone will read it, it's Cupcakes level of grimdark, and the ending seems absolutely unnecessary. He refuses on all fronts, and I told him, having poured heart-and-soul into Gods and Demons, since I loved Halo, having it consistently get rated down every chapter grates the self-esteem.

Now I have people reading it and telling me it's easily the best Halo/MLP crossover out there, and a good fic in its own right. I'm considering rebooting it under a different focus.

Probably get as large a readership as Equestria War Z, to be fair.
