And I know that happens with the Hummer, but it doesn't happen nearly as much. That was actually very little compared to what I can get. And the feeling through the wheel is just incredible. You can feel the loss of grip and the wheel just pulls in the direction of the tire still on the ground. Things a :censored:in' beast around the 'Ring and I love it.

I love how you can basically ram most other cars off the road without even causing a scratch on the Hummer, plus it's so wide that none of the other cars can overtake you on certain tracks

That RD Wreath doesn't look that Christmassy if I'm honest. I'm already using the one I was planning to use anyway, so I'll stick with it for the next few weeks.







Anyway, time for SRS BSNS, Arddun Lleuad. I came across it after the sequel was posted on EqD a couple of weeks ago. I’m not entirely sure why I decided to read it, especially when I was planning on reading other fics before I started this one, plus the whole Luna + Human pairing is, well, something I’m not that comfortable with. I wasn’t expecting to like it that much either, I was just going to look at the first chapter and leave it at that. Turns out I was wrong; this story was much more compelling than I imagined it would be. The way the story is written is just brilliant, the plot is well thought out (for the most part), and I couldn’t help but get an urge to continue reading right to the end.

However, there are some parts that I didn’t particularly like. The events which took place in the final chapter weren’t what I expected. Events could have played out in a way that I would have been totally happy with, but instead the author decided that the main (human) character would go down a different route, one that I don’t really understand. The only thing I can hope is that the sequel, Chwe Goleadau, turns out to be a decent read, and that the main character’s choice doesn’t end up ruining the story all together.

The idea of Human + Pony shipping is still something that I’m not keen on (even though there isn’t really that much shipping in this story anyway), plus it’s not in my list of top 10 favourite fics for a number of reasons, but I’m willing to put up with that and just enjoy, what is, a well written and fairly enjoyable story as a whole.

Oh, and the troll-fic based on this story is pretty crazy, but funny nontheless

Wiegert, I just read the description of that fic and some of the authors comments about it.....I think I might take a look at that at some point.

I've never had a problem with Human/Pony shipping as long as it's done well and doesn't feel like a self insert, and this sounds a lot like the former and nothing like the later. Speaking of stories involving humans, I still need to read My Little Dashie as well.

EDIT: I just risked spoilers to go through some of the comments, being careful to just skip anything that seemed like it was heading toward spoilers, and it sounds great. I'm looking forward to reading that, actually. I've always wanted to see a realistic approach to the 'Human in Equestria' story and it sounds like this is it.

Maybe I'll get to some stuff tomorrow.

And at the people being up in arms about the ending (including that guy who said, basically, that it should be allowed to be on ED) when it was basically the same as the rest of the story.

Well, the whole self insert thing did cross my mind at certain points in the story, plus it's written in first person (which did kind of put me off a little as I started chapter 1), plus one guy who commented on it on DA said that the idea of this fic being written in first person almost put them off the story completely, but in the end they still enjoyed it regardless. It has it's ups and downs, yeah, but I still liked it.

The authors notes and the lost chapter are quite interesting as well. Some of the ideas the author originally thought up were pretty brutal, but none of those ideas were used in the actual story.

Don't get me wrong, I like first person narratives. Two Beats for example was a great fic which had a first person narrative, it was just the idea that such a narrative used for a human character rather than a pony that I wasn't too sure about.

The narrative does switch between characters at certain points as well.

I had a little bit about something typed up. It's not a big thing, it's just that it doesn't feel worth typing it out, anymore. It wasn't in response to anything in this thread, either, just some random thoughts. I've been having a lot of really random thoughts lately.


Just be warned that for the rest of the night most of what I say will make little to no sense. I'm having one of those nights where I just feel out of it.
