It does seem that whenever you show us one of your new pieces, we tend to agree that it's your best work so far. Honestly though, I think that "Lost" drawing is your best one to date.

I think the last one you did for TNTNE, "Star Fighter's Gala jacket", "Derpymon" and Allegrezza" are among your best drawings.

That's a valuable feedback right there. By seeing what people like, I make changes and test new ways to improve.

I think it's a case of in each new release, you've refined the shading just that little bit more. The moody lighting in that newest piece shows off your shading more than before.

Shadows really gave me a hard time on this one.

Hell, if I'm honest, you have the skill to match alot of the best out there. Just probably not the time to make massive, complex pieces, or a shedload a day like Joseco and others do.

No really, I'm serious. You have the skill there to make really detailed shading work. I'd really love to see you try your hand at something...grander, if you get what I mean. Like something really intricate and complicated.

It's just a nice show that's entertaining to watch. The writers actually anticipated adults watching the show (mums and dads, not us randoms) so they have plenty of jokes that kids won't get making the show entertaining to both levels. The fandom is really good too, it just keeps coming out with new content for us adults.

I could go on but my brain has the dumb today and I can't think.

Do what Coffee said and watch a different episode. Episode 1 and 2 are meant to be watched together and if you didn't do that you wont get a good impression of the show.

The word "Brother" followed by any established character is a sign of a troll. But the word "Brother" followed by that many established characters is absolutely a troll. I didn't even read past that sentence.

I still think the final version of Berserker Packin' Mare and a Half is my favorite, but I do think that the OctaScratch is really probably the best indicator of how far unit has come.

And now for the piece de resistance:

Guys, I really want to hear your opinion on this pic I made during last night.
I put my very soul in it, it was very emotional to work on it.

It's sad though. So if you don't want to see sad, don't click it.

First of all, this is the best shading job you've ever done for any of your images. You can still see all of the detail on the lineart, and the red streaks in his mane and tail can be seen nicely without being overpowering. The coloring job is also very consistent and clean, with no errors or undone patches that I can see.

The use of an actual photo for the crabgrass in the background, foreground and skybox works really nicely; and it is blended really well into the photo. And in terms of atmosphere, the drawing does a really good job of portraying the somber feeling you intended.




As for negatives, I can only think of a couple minor ones. First of all, the sidemouth. They look weird when they are drawn on anime characters, and they look even weirder on a Pony. I also don't see why it is there, honestly, because I think extending his mouth completely to his snout would convey the same emotion.

Second, the lineart looks kind of rough in spots, particularly by his snout and in the back part of his mane.



All told, I would say this is your best piece yet.
