PONIES the Anthology II was absolutely amazingly hilarious for about 3/4ths of it. Then it just kinda... meandered a bit after the hour mark. There were still some stand out sketches (the Evangelion gag ending with Spike taking the role of Spike Spencer made me absolutely lose it, as did the Teen Girl Squad parody). And the long 2001 parody was fantastically done but really pretty much pointless. A shot-for-shot remake of the last third of the film was damned impressive, but not really fitting with the rest of the video and didn't really do anything notable with it (since it is parodied so much).


Of course, the HTTYD credits parody was FLAWLESS VICTORY for an ending, and the whole thing was worth it to see AJ go ATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATAT WATA! on an apple tree.

I knew you'd enjoy that part after I saw it earlier, along with the South Park Gilda.

Although I didn't realise it was a parody of the HTTYD credits until I saw it... in the credits afterwards (Give me a break, I only saw it once and the sound was terrible in comparison to how it should have sounded).





Anyway:

Does... does this mean 🤬 might just get real next season? Even compared to what we saw in season 2? We can only hope...

Still not exactly sure why I can tolerate this show, but my sister (who grew up on MLP and is now 23) forced me to watch an episode with her a while back and when I realized that I didn't feel like killing myself, I learned to kinda like it. Then when I figured out Tara Strong voiced most of the shows I loved as a kid and Lauren Faust worked on The Iron Giant (my favorite movie of my childhood by far), I learned to like it a bit more.

It's funny. The reason I joined GTP was because I wanted to find a song that I heard on the exact day (Sunday, October 10th 2010) that the first episode of season 1 started, so I decided to ask here of all places. Joining here may not have directly led me to MLP (because honestly it didn't), but it's played a massive role in turning me into a fan of the show, and meeting all the great people here who share the same interests. I like to think that holds some significance really.
