Why woulden't it be? I presume it has decent mouting brackets or something (better?).

Dont assume too much. The G25/27 is the only wheel that is natively "compatible" with the PlaySeat v1 from 2006 like I have. To be honest, the issue is not really the wheel manufacturers, but PlaySeat that insisted on having a square tube at the bottom of the "dashboard plate" they did change this in future designs - but still, the Fanatec XBox, XBox360 Wireless, Fanatec GT2 and a few other wheels cannot be mounted securly other than drilling and screwing where possible - the G25/27 (and a few other Logitech wheels) that use the twin screw clamps are the only ones that fit using clamps.

So if this T500RS uses a center clamp, then it wont be able to directly clamp to the dashboard plate.

But as I say, that is not really the wheel manufacturers issue.

Nice! Can't wait to see how the pedals stand up to the clubsport.

I'm eagerly waiting the first reviews so I can buy the T500 or the GT2... I really need pedals that won't lock up with ABS off though, so here's hoping that the Thrustmaster turns out to be awesome.

Adjust your brake bias then, and maybe slap on some mods like a squash ball if needed

Agree. I even have ABS off with DFGT. So far I've used GT3 RS (CSP), G27 (nixim mod) and DFGT (sponge-brake) and can brake with all three with ABS off.

PS As you noted (in another thread) no matter which brake pedals you use with ABS off you have keep the car balanced (car straight) in order to brake hard. ABS off changes how the weight transfers as you brake.

the GT2 can be hard mounted to the playseat without drilling. i think the g25/g27 pedals are the only that can without drilling or modding.

Yes, my GT2 mounted to my Playseat EVO with no drilling. The GT2 lines up with the four outermost screw holes on the Playseat mounting plate.

Thanks for keeping the thread active.

What's your own thoughts on the wheel and are you considering buying?
We might not get any info from ISR until release date.

My thoughts are that the wheel itself may be very good, but the pedals may let it down if they are not Load-cell. The shifter should come it two bits, H gate and Sequential, so that no compromise is made.

People talk like this should do everything because it costs £500. That is ALOT of money, but take a look at Frex or ECCI's, they are not perfect and they cost double this!

Unfortunately this thread has been moved to the 'steering wheel section', which not many people check. Now the traffic for this thread is down 90 pecent... 👎
Hopefully me or someone else can convince a moderator to move it back .

About the wheel, I do like what they are doing but think that with a cheaper wheel they would get more profit. Profits put to the side, this wheel seems to top over other wheels like the G27 and Fanatecs; spec wise, and since PD are supporting it the performance with GT will probably be better. Im not going to consider this wheel since I am still in college and game only 1 hour per week (GT mostly). I'm probably going to head for a Fanatec Carrera, awesome wheel for its price! 👍

The shifter is both sequential and H-shift; I'll update the OP when I'm not feeling so lazy :P.

Keep the discussion going! :D

Err, to be fair it is hardware and a wheel though. Very little discussion on this also on other forums. More details are needed and when people get it, then I'm sure their will be more discussion about it.

I'm looking forward to the ISR video.

Yea, I know its hardware, and it is moved to the right place. I just think its unfortunate because less people look in this section. When I used to scroll down the page, there were 300 people reading through the thread, and when there was interesting news there were up to 1000. Now theres around max 30 :nervous:.

Rant over. :P

Interesting, Thrustmaster has stated on their facebook page that the T500RS is comparable to products such as ECCI and Frex http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=177715455589531&topic=274
I like your reference to ECCI, you could reference to Frex too - these are the right references - the difference is that we produce T500RS in mass production (not craftmanship). our company is more about huge passion than huge profit : our company is public so this can be checked! no robbery - just creating Value for those who can appreciate it.

Hmmmmm

It's probably not finished yet, or they would sell it at wheel launch.

Of course its not finished yet, but no image/picture/rendering leads one to believe they have not even considered/deisgned it yet and that w=might put launch a year away - or heaven forbid, never sell a shifter and just do "paddles with clutch pedals" :)

All this hype over the wheel and not even a rendering of the shifter yet?

It makes no sense whatsoever to release a concept rendering if it's not finished. Product development continues up until testing and production, and if it's early days yet they won't have decided on the final design. With luck, we'll get specs and features of the shifter soon, but don't expect to see an image of the shifter until it's ready to go into production.

Actually in this day and age of computer aided design, rapid prototypes, 3D printers etc it makes perfect sense for your premiere producte that is being hyped as the be-all-and-end-all and being LAUNCHED sans a crucial selling component to be at least unveiled even in concept form at this stage.

Hello, this a $600 wheel and 3 pedal setup being sold without so much as a HINT as to the type/quality/possible future existance of an H shifter - which seems a little moronic to be doing. Some people will be absing their buy/not buy decision on the shifter.

It would be nice. But it doesn't make perfect sense. I'm aware of the design and manufacture process (degree in Product Design and a year in industry). It doesn't make sense at all to release renderings unless the process is going through the final evaluation phase. Designs change, expectations of consumers change, features can even change very late on. TM is focussing on the wheel right now, and have confirmed that a shifter will be available. I suspect more info will come out about the shifter when the wheel reviews start to come in.

Although I doubt it, it may even be a marketing decision to delay the shifter, especially if it will be pricey. A $600 wheel purchased now with the likely hood of a shifter coming down the line is a little bit easier to swallow than a $600 wheel with (potentially) a $250 shifter sold seperately at launch. People would look at it as a complete package, and at $850 it would be even less appealing. It wouldn't be very nice marketing, but then when was marketing a nice industry? ;)

From Darin Gangi at iRacing forums

I have a T500RS here and it's incredible ! Pedals are decent but not as good as Clubsports.. The wheel on the other hand which will work on the PC once they have their drivers worked out, is a step above anything on the market from Logitech or Fanatec. Actually makes the G25/27 feel and look like a toy. It's more like an ECCI or Frez wheel and feels like it too.

I'll be posting an unboxing and first look vid tomorrow about it..

Looks like no G27 for me :)

Damn, the pedals are more important than the wheel. I can't wait for the review now to see how close to the clubsport pedals they are.

I dunno, I want the wheel to feel and respond like a real wheel, not like the dinky things on the Logitechs.
You can't feel the pedals, not like how you do with the wheel, while the wheel is the direct interface. As long as the pedal have good resistance, and travel and since they use real pedals, not some plastic or other pretend design, they should be decent.

Hopefully this wheel will finally give me the feeling of a real car when drifting, as far as solidity of feel and speed of rotation goes
