Yes Stega Im sure you have room for yet another toy!

You always wanted the Frex level of precision and quality for GT5 and I guess this is proving to go some way in bringing that. I knew you wouldnt be able to resist.

I expect the shifter again to be more akin to Frex level of quality/build and look to their WARTHOG as a reference. Though personally as a guess see it coming in at $200 - $250.

Can sumone please tell me if this wheel will be coming to australia, and i do mean coming here as im not referring to importing, so anyone who has any news would be great, i have done sum searching but can't find anything. cheers

Nice, exactly what I wanted to hear, about the drifting feeling easier like it is in real life. DFGT is terrible for drifting!

So it'll be about $1000 retail in Australia with the shifter I guess, so probably around $800 all up with a good price. That's how much a Fanatec and CSP combo costs here

It's comparison with Fanatec that we're interested in - everyone knows it darn well better be superior to the G25/7.

Fanatec wheels are closer to G27 than Frex and ECCI wheels which ISR compared this wheel to. From my experience Fanatec wheels is not superior to the G27 as both are about on the same level each with their own advantages. Fanatec wheels do have advantages like able to play on X360 and on-wheel adjustments.

In previous reviews, ISR has said that Fanatec wheels, in GT5, are leaps and bounds superior to G25/7. This is why comparison of T500RS to G25 is frustrating.

In that review they said some things that were not true probably because like they said they spent most of their time with the GT2. (the problem with G27 was the pedals were touchy yet this is because you had to calibrate the pedals first which they missed) They mention before especially when compared to a wheel like ECCI they are close on the same level. Once they also claim G27 was better in F1 2010 (until it was patched) than Fanatec wheel(ps3 version) but that not the same as the wheel itself.

Hey RC45,

Can you tell us how the variable wheel rotation works? Does it automatically adjust per car or can you tell it which rotation to use?

MSRP. They kept $648.42 of my hard earned money and all I walked out with was a bloody great box of "toy wheel".

*shudder* It is always very sobering to walk past the street bums and beggars pushing a cart with a pointless toy as they push their lifes belongings along with them. :(

Any way.... I will report back on how it compares to the G25 and Gt2 later today.

Looking forward to the GT2 comparison. Thinking about canceling my order w/Fanatec GT2 CSE.

If it's automatic, I'd like to know if, at least for premium cars, the lock-to-lock rotation difference is more detailed than a few pre-defined settings (like 1080 degrees, 900, 270, 180), as I described in this post.

What about noise compared to the G27?
This is a very important question.

I play with a Beamer and with Stereosound over amplifyer and speakers.
Difficult to say. they both make a sound. I would say the G27 is harder in sound because of the gears, and the t500rs is more damped because of the belts. The t500 has a fan, too. You can hear this, but for me it is no problem.
Anyway, the T500rs has no play! The g27 has little play, like "tic tic tic" when you stear left right left.

The powersupply is double size of that g27 and the motor is getting warm after 10-20 min. ( I play with strong feedback )
It seems that the wheel is adjusting for every different car. There are big differences if you drive an elise or an charger, in force and sensitivity.
Actualy the plastic wheel is in the grip almost like leather. ( it smells even like leather )
Seems to be very special material, feels like original car wheel. No problems with this.
I payed les than 500 € for it. ( will not give it away anymore :sly:)

Regards,

Laserpat

PS: I like the pedals too. I installed the extra mod on it. aprox 14Kg to push. I like the pedals ( Brake ). Sensitive and strong built quality. I play the F1 style, because I can not see any advantages to put the heavy side vertical.
There are also more screwholes in the F1 mode. The cable is a little short! You will need extension cable, if you are not sitting 80cm berfore your screen.

I have one concern with the wheel! When you crash in a race, and you are not patiently enought to to put the wheels staright, and you abort the race with "st" button, than the wheel is rotating very very fast in Zero position!! This can break a finger or a hand of a child! be carefull!

I'd love to hear what you guys who have it think about the fixed paddle shifters after some use. Seems like you have to take a hand off the wheel to use them any time the wheel is turned 90 degrees or more. That could be tough if the force feedback back is very strong even when minimized in the in-game setting.

Also would love to hear if you can feel the rear of the car let go through the FF like you could in Prologue. Seems that is not so obvious in GT5 with my G25:indiff:

Also can you feel the front pushing through the FF? The G25 seems to give no indication of that either. If I turn the front wheels past the point of max front grip I can't tell through the FF.
Thanks!

I think recorded audio exaggerates the sound because crappy microphones seem to pick up "tinny" high-pitch tones better than mid-tones and bass. I bet in person it's not that annoying.

Anyway, even if they are that noisy, it seems to be a strangely pleasant ("automotive-like", if you get the idea) one and not the usual harsh and cheap "click".

Thanks for answering... that's very informative.
I would like more information about the different steering lock angle for each car (other than feel differences), if possible.
It should be easy to test this in the arcade mode.

Oh dear, this is sounding too good... 👍

Well, unpacked, hooked up and ready to try it all out. And when I say "side by side test" against the GT2, I literallt meant "side by side" ;)

Glad things are turning up for you RC. Make sure you give us a lot of details and tell us how the pedals feel!
