Is there someone whom can answer my question?


  • What kind of potmeters does the T500RS pedals have? Are they standard potmeters?
  • What is the value (10K?)?

If the potmeters are standard with the same value as the G27 potmeters, than it is possible to install the APelectrix or the Perfect Pedal.

You will not get this because PD do not want you to have it according to a message I got from Thrustmaster. However Thrustmaster are looking at ways of adding these features to other games.

Thanks, friend (I assume you have one and you've tried it).

I just realized that every pedal has 4 holes on the back, and owners must fix them using only two screws. I understand that each pair of screws are used for a different angle:

In any case, if any of the users who already own a T500 RS could upload a photo of the pedals turning around this piece, I would be grateful.

I feel so eager to this particular issue, but it is important for me, because I will play with the pedals turned around since the first day I buy its, and it is something that I can not personally try in a store.

You probably missed the quote I posted from Thrustmaster earlier in the thread.
Each game developper has its own vision of what shall be controlled by the game and what shall be controlled by the racing wheel. Polyphony, based on their driving experience (24H Nürburgring) wants a direct function between Drift angle and torque - if you leave hardware to reset the angle, you might lose this ratio in that game

But that means that the Fanatec is actually quite a bit better, seeing as it's a lot cheaper as well. Or did you also factor in price here?

When it comes down to it no one can tell you which wheel you would like better. I prefer the G27 wheel over the Fanatec wheel. I have never tried the more expensive wheels like Dale Earnhardt Jr has and yet he still prefer the G27 with CST (cost around $700) pedals over the more expensive wheels.

Of course, some things could be improved, for me ( at this point of my test)
Not hardware but software settings.
The hardware is really great. A big big pleasure with it.
Pedals are really good too. Love the break feeling.

But again, i can't compare with fanatec's CSP, that's seems to be very good.

Thank you very much for all the people including Julienm that have taken time to post updates. I personally would've been like "**** posting, I'm gonna play GT5".

On Topic.
I know I've said this before, but videos like the most recent YouTube one, in the modsim cockpit, shows the need to have the option to remove the steering wheel and arms from cockpit view. PLEASE PD.

Seconded. If I use a gamepad, GREAT, cool. When I use a wheel? Kinda weird. And think about it, not rendering that wheel and arms saves processing power! WIN!

I guess some around here have a degree in cynism. That "Huge design flow button" is one big face palm...what real pro racers should say about the tiny buttons on their wheels having to switch through them couple of times in a lap, let's say Le Mans at 300km/h and those are even at fingertips. "I misclick my TC before the turn, oops im dead". Seriously..

Well I've not really seen eye to eye with RC on just about anything on the forums. I don't think a lot of what he's said is appropriate especially in the GT2 thread.

Any with all of that said for someone who was as critical of Fanatec as he was to say he gives the GT2 a slight edge without the ClubSports in his possession says a lot to me. Especially considering the ClubSports are the biggest difference maker IMO of the Fanatec package.

Now I know this isn't the end all of arguments, and I'm still very interested to see more reviews and head to head comparisons but I must say that I'm shocked to hear him saying anything positive on the GT2 let alone he gives it an edge!

i agree. RC45 gets major kudos. im curious to see more tests especially with the clubsports. on another note. whats up with the lag on this wheel? looks pretty bad here:

I dont think those may work, or fitting may be the problem.
Kikie I do however think somone with the ability will come out with mods for this wheel very quickly. Depends how it is reported to sell.

Look on these forums how chillicoke has offered options to expand G25/G27.
I can see mods coming from the community and a small workshop offering things like a tuning kit that will allow more possibilities with all pedals not just the brake. Springs or different compounds of rubber.

The angle of pedals, its been raised as an issue. An easy fix with a larger angled insert or one that is adjustable no doubt will become available if it is indeed an issue.

What about a metal bracket appearing which allows the PS3 Dpad/Buttons be used along with an official motorsport branded wheel attached. The T500 seems it will in its design offer ways to those that want or would like to take it further, to do so.

Fanatec while having its own benefits as a product cannot offer the same mod options in how it is made.
Well I certainly do not know of many 3rd party mods for it.

Of course mods wont appeal to everyone and they will be happy enough with the product as it is. However I dont think the T500 in standard spec will be limited to just its standard spec for very long.

This has been bought up before in other forum. There is some lag between the controller and the image seen on the screen. Often consoles has a little more lag than PC. Also some HDTV has more lag than others.

So where can I buy this wheel in the US? it said it would be sold on Amazon.com but it's not listed. I want this wheel!

That's the tv input lag not a wheel lag, even the cheap DFGT has no lag when you play on PC.

..

Some tvs are better than others and most of them have a "gaming mode" to improve the lag.

I'd say, top line vs. top line. Also, I'm sure the X360 compatibility didn't hurt. The PS3/GT5 isn't the whole world for console racers you know!

i have a plasma. no lag on my tv with any wheel iv tried. its 1:1 or close to it. not noticeable like in the youtube i linked. input lag and tv lag are different. no?

edit: looks like they are playing on a monitor in that youtube vid. not a TV.

Actually most of the lag comes from GT5/PS3 itself, however as you state the display you are using could noticeable add to the total lag. I did a lot of research to get a low lag computer monitor for use with my PS3 and if you run GT5/PS3 on a very low lag computer monitor the game still has this very noticeable lag in the steering as shown, Prologue was similar. I would imagine it is due to the allocation of processing power to graphics vs. physics. Would be cool if on future consoles they had enough processing power to reduce it a lot. I bet it could really add to the whole driving feel.

I don't think that's fair to Fanatec though because a huge selling point for the GT2 is the Xbox 360 compatibility.

You can't just toss that out because you don't have an xbox!
 
I see, You own a T500 too. That's not compatible with the Xbox.
I wouldn't have thought that would even come onto your radar if you need Xbox support.

I just reckon you got loads of money lol.

The GT3 is cheaper, that's more in favour to Fanatec when comparing it to a T500. They are both aimed at PC and PS.
What's not fair, I don't understand.

I own a G27 so the only option valid for me is an Xbox compatible upgrade.
Nice to keep tabs on new stuff though. The Logitech wheels have passed the durability test, only time will tell with the T500. Although it certainly looks strong.

As for PC support, this wheel is primarily an PS wheel. PC support hopefully will be good again time will tell I suppose.
 
RC45, I do really appreciate your comments and valuable comparison. I'm not too excited about how you express some of your thoughts - but it takes all types as they say :)

Anyway, shall we all stick to discussion of the products involved and not reactions to reactions of reactions (or let the mods clean it up)?

Concerning the plate on the pedals (diamond plate?) - does it look easily replaceable or is it welded on etc? It looks horrible to me.

I have not been following closely enough, do you have Fanatec CSPs on order?
