Might as well have a bit of a wordier post this time.

I've been refining the Volvo 242 sleeper I have a bit more lately. I fixed its track offset because I noticed its rear wheels are as bad as - if not worse than - the 1973 Escort, gave it the BMW S55B30 engine from the M4 (and set the M4 engine to use the M4GTS sound since it's way nicer), gave it the biggest tire widths possible and the street tire compound I believe.

It's a hoot to drive right now. Because I haven't bothered with weight reduction or race suspension (but it does have offroad suspension in order to lower it) or any kind of chassis upgrades, it has exactly what I love from performance SUVs - it's fast, grippy, leans a lot around corners, but is a joy to drive.

I'm also taking some suggestions. Can anyone name a few decent real-life engine swaps that aren't available in Forza? I can't just make an engine available for every car so I'd need two names (i.e. Corvette Z06 engine in Mazda MX5), but yeah, offer some suggestions if you want.

Oh, and for those of you who just like the pictures: :P

Awesome to see that alignment! Not a swap but I'd love to see a photo or two of the Zonda Cinque with fixed track width.

Although... it sounds fairly bad in the game too, the Aston Martin Vulcan has a more fitting note if you want to try it.

You're right, I've changed the sound and it sounds pretty great. I think it revs a little bit too high for the Vulcan note to sound natural but it still sounds better.

Also, better?

I won't narrow down the suggestions and instead use a small range of cars for some, so you can choose whatever you think is a good idea. Tell me if I can go wild with the abbreviations, in case you want/need any more suggestions.
  • Honda S2000 engine into a DC2 Integra, Mazda MX5 (any)
  • Supra RZ engine into the '97 RX-7
  • '12 M5 engine into the '95 M5 (usually it's done with the V10 from the predecessor, but unfortunately, the E60 is no longer with Forza)
  • Charger/Challenger Hellcat engine into the Lexus LFA (close enough, I guess)
  • Skyline R32-34 engine into the '69 Mustang Boss 302 (again, close enough  Apparently, they really did build a Mustang [if I remember correctly] with that engine swap for the movie, so it's real enough, I guess?)
  • any Viper engine into the '12 Wrangler Rubicon (yes, people apparently do that. Might make more sense in the game than it does in the real world)

Oh man, seeing these pics definitely makes me wish I had downloaded that patch ... such beautiful screenshots. Nice work, definitely.

I have a few suggestions for engine swaps! :D
The Chevy SS's V8 into either the Penhall Cholla or the Alumnicraft Class 10 Race Car
Nissan Titan Warrior Concept's Diesel into the Ram Ram Runner
Morgan 3-Wheeler's V-Twin engine into the BMW Isetta 300 Export
Ferrari 458 Italia's V8 into the Toyota GT86 to replicate the drift car built by Ryan Tuerck
That's it for now.

Not much exciting new to say, but I've been modifying the names for engine swaps in the database to be a bit more verbose. For example, there were two 6.2L V8 swaps but no easy way to tell which was from which car unless you looked at the specs. What I've been doing is adding the full names, for example the German one is now "6.2L V8 - Mercedes-Benz M156", and the US one is now "6.2L V8 - General Motors LT4" (or something like that). I also did a few silly swaps like putting a BMW M4 engine into a Volvo 850R just because I can.

Here's a new rendered pic to keep the thread going a bit.

Another thing I can't exactly convey in a pic, but eh...

So because the Audi RS5 has Audi A5 bumpers available for it, I've always wanted to be able to make a lower-end model out of it. Now that I can, I gave it a 2.0 Audi TFSI engine and an FWD drivetrain. I also decided to give it the Audi S1's wheels just so it doesn't have RS wheels which look kinda silly on an A series.

With the exception of the fact that I can't remove the RS badges, it's pretty convincing so far.

This looks incredible...can you lower cars past what the normal settings in the tuning screen offer?

Would love to see this thing properly in the weeds.

Yeah, to an extent but it's glitchy. For some reason if I lower the suspension too much then do something that causes it to compress (hard braking, hit a curb, etc), it glitches out and goes to max length instead, making the car ride too high.

Very nice!

Now I am thinking of switching to PC for this game. The PC version is very flexible for this game. What do you recommend for a good PC for this game? Or what are the requirements for a good PC to play this game?

Don't get your hopes up. The normal PC version is just like the Xbox version (but obviously better looking). You can't do stuff like this in it.
