Things You Want To See In GT6 Besides Vehicles and Tracks

I'm a founder of 2 great series so my wants are from a racing stand point.

[*]I want Timed race distances as well as lap counts.
[*]I want split times from driver to driver instead of driver to 1st place leader. I want a qualifier option before start of the race.
[*]I want a way to control the green start lights so we can pace lap ourselves and do a standing start grid option.

I'm sure there is more but this is all I could think of on the fly!

Top ideas joe, would definitely make the series' a lot smoother to run!

How about the ability to use a personal photo for our profile picture?
We take one from our XMB like we can do with the music!

Don't know if this is already mentioned, but i want the Family Cup from GT4 back! You can choose any car and circuit, select difficulty, and the game sets up a grid of cars that are competitive. Race has a standing start btw.

In Endurance races it would be 'cool' that besides pitting for tyres and petrol, you also have to watch your temperature inside the cockpit. When racing 100% you are done after 2 hours of racing for example. When racing 80%, your temperature won't rise that much and will cool down enough during the normal pitstops.

Maybe it's only an idea for B-spec, because it's also to do with the number of drivers you have. It doens't need a temperature 'engine' in the game, it just depend on how long the throttle is down + weather (day & nighttime + rainy weather or not).

Wouldn't it. And things like that he won't mention in any promo add so we'll have to sit back and wait to see if its changed or not. I need Kaz to sign uo for 1 of our series so he can see what's really lacking! HA'

The ability to convert a car's steering wheel position from left-hand drive to right-hand drive.
Or the other way depending on what country you live in!

Wheel spacers would be a great idea.

Too many cars have ugly wheel fitment with the wheels being 4+ inches inside the arch.

Yuck.

Then why not wider wheels/less offset? I could be missing something, but unless they would add wheels flying off cars, I don't see the point of spacers. Besides, why would it be in a game like GT?

Anything in particular there?

I would like an MPG meter for enduro's; this would give a hint of how long your fuel will last at full race pace, rather than seeing the little bar at the bottom.

Also the ability (again for enduro's) to be able to switch to B-spec drivers for stints in the car.

I would like a temperature gauge for engines/gearboxes on enduros and the need to refill with coolant if they get too hot in laps.

Quite strange things (except the 2nd one) but itd improve races like the N24.

I like it! Same goes for all the other ideas.

Weekend track events. Including specific car type races (all with 16 cars) , time trials, time trial events including 24 AL cars, and knockout (1 car drops out per lap)

Arcade is built into A-spec, including prizes (opens new tracks, reverse tracks, new cars, new arcade events)

More records, lap records for various car types, number of races won per car, number of miles completed per car, fastest top speed per track.

Same car category a-spec races, upto 24 cars per race.

I might be getting confused with spacers because I'm not entirely sure what they are LOL, but any way to adjust the offset of the wheels would be great.

Wider width tires would help as well!

You do know that the best ignition system in the world won't inherently make ANY power on it's own past a fairly minimal point right? It's like when Spiltfire spark plugs first came out and guys were like "aw dude this gives my vtec like 25 more hp at the wheels sucka" when really all they did was "help" prevent detonation. On most cars they just simply fouled or had faster tip degredation which actually made things worse. You cant make power without good spark but good spark is almost worthless on a stock engine.

Now if you're talking about a programmable MSD box or the like then thats a different story. This is why PD gave the "ECU Upgrade" in. And all that does is change and boost the torque/power curve.

So basically in it's simplest form you're saying "PD, I want an upgrade for fuel, spark, and ecu instead of only the ecu." which is dumb because the days they are all run through and programmable through the ECU.

So really what you should be asking for is an ignition tune up kit or something like that. You know like plugs and wires or coilpacks. Or different fuel injectors (ie 28lb/hr vs 24lb/hr). Stuff like that.

All I'm saying is PD tried to wrap up all the engine management stuff into a simple one off package, the ECU upgrade.

Wider width tires would help as well!

Spacers move the wheels out towards the wheelwells and are bolted in place between the wheel spindle and rim. They are used either when you have a wheel that isn't "dished in" (offset) deep enough or you want the tires sticking out if the side of the car.

If you replace 2" offset wheels with 1.5" offset you would need a .5" spacer for correct placement. More or less.

There shoulden't be to much custumizaition, this is a more or less a profesional raceing game. But i think they should make a steet version of gt, with the custumizations of the nfs under grounds but everthing brand name and just as realistic as the standerdversion pf gt is. With pinkslips, money pots (like everyone pays 5000$ and winner takes all), money with every thing realisticly priced (its like impossiple to get some of the cars in gt5), drive train swaps (civics can be useful), brand name engins, nos, drag raaces, drift races down mountans and in parking garages, a clutch so speed shift (unless you switch to pedal shift or have pedel shift stock, you can take the body of a car and build it to be fast, light, and good handeling as you want ,working street lights, realistic crashes, and you can drive to diffrent cities and get diffrent garages and you can't quit the game until you park your car in a garage (a connected online world where when you go into a diffrent state, provence etc, it's likeit,s like going onto a diffrent server.
Like the Idea. P.D. could make it a separate franchise but I don't see P.D. moving off the tracks anytime soon :(

A street racing game with the GT physics and cars would be awesome.

GAMEPLAY - Replay
*The replay needs to last 10 to 15 seconds AFTER the race has concluded! It just stops too quickly for my liking... And what if I want to do a hand-brake slide over the finish line and have other cars plough into mine? Could do that in other GT titles, why not GT5? Too late now, but it should go into GT6!

How about a check box for "realistic" cockpit view (see vid below, 1:11 ). Helmet/head movement would depend on turbo lag, braking strength, suspension, etc.

For some people who crave a bit more extreme driving experience they can check the box.

The thing with head movement is that the human brain filters and corrects the movement of the eyes with the help of the inner ear. Having extremely strong head motion like in the video above would be realistic in the sense that the head does really move around like that, but that's not what the driver actually sees.
As such, the best way to have realistic simulation of the driver's vision is to simulate the motion of the head, then simulate the corrections of the inner ear. Applying the corrections to the head motion should net you the motion of the driver's actual vision.
There's an rFactor/rFactor 2 plugin that does just that. Observe:

Notice how the interior of the car appears to move about while the track stays relatively still.

^^ That video reminds me, I wish we could have a more recent incarnation of Côte d'Azur.

GT5 version was pretty lame looking IMO.

I know what this thread's for. More of an update than a track though.

On the head movement thing... I can't see the videos but I understand what you are both talking about.

Last night I tried, TRIED to play NFS S2 for a bit (only because it has Road America) and the "helmet view" in that game is almost unusable. Completely unrealistic. When coupled with the squishy physics it's like being on a waterslide with a tube.

Honestly IMO GT has done a fairly decent job with the cockpit view. There is room for improvement but at least it's not wildly overdone like in many other games/sims.

I just thought it would be fun if we can complete the endurance events online with our friends. Maybe like a 2 hour trial mountain enduro, schedule it with our friends and x time and have at it.

It would be much more fun, rather than in single player and lapping the AI over and over. If you finish ahead of the AI, but get 2nd place because your friend won, you still get 1st place in career mode since you beat the AI. Just a thought to help enhance career mode a little.

I'd actually support a more lifelike tuning structure and an intricately balanced overall car list. The idea would be to make sure that each car had at least a few close competitors, within its general size class and market segment, with similar stock performance, engine displacement (both with and without forced induction displacement formulae accounted for), drivetrain layout (at least as far as 2WD vs AWD), and so forth.

This would work with a more realistic tuning system (and, hopefully, a greater variety of body mods from minor to full-on racing) to allow fairly realistic multi-class online races.

I would like to see a little of both, not too much screen/head movement, maybe only on hard braking, big bumps and hard acceleration and some frame movement. The rfactor video seemed to me like the a picture frame moving all about, looks good for the first 20 secs then it just melts away.

I agree on what the brain sees but on hard bumps, hard braking and hard acceleration, i'm pretty sure your brain would see the movement/jolt.

To be able to place decals/brand names on tires. Goodyear, Potenza, etc. I think a lot of cars look better with them. Example :

I just looked for the first time this thread and I am amazed!

Good job Earth and everyone helping! I looked in and there's hardly anything I could suggest :D. It's all in there!

Sorry for what turned out to be a long ramble of stuff that someone has probably already posted, but nevertheless:

I just finished a 35 lap arcade mode race at High Speed Ring. As I'm watching the replay at a glance I thought I saw a C7 Vette racing against me. It turned out to be a C5, but it got me thinking. None of the dlc cars that I have (I have a release day CE disc and all dlc to date just fyi) show up racing against me as far as I can remember. It's always just the cars from the original disc based list, right? I'm assuming that the XL Edition maybe has the Aventador for example, since I believe it's amongst the dlc that's included on that disc? But my early spec disc has lots of cars added in from the hard drive.

In GT6 I hope that, especially in arcade mode if not elsewhere, we have the ability to pick our opponents for a race from our entire and (assuming we get the monthly dlc they mentioned) ever expanding roster of cars. I would like to be able to hand pick my opponents from a list of all the cars in the game as it continues to update. For example currently I wish I could race against my Stealth cars, or my Chrome Line cars or Edge Camaro but like other dlc cars they don't show up as opponents and I can't select them. Or cars that I have tuned myself from my garage. I have wondered how some of my cars stack up against each other, and even if it's super unbalanced I would like to be able to hand pick the lineup from my entire garage (or potential favorites list) if I want.

Although I'm not going to get started on it I also hope that all tracks have full day/night cycles and weather and that we can fully control both.

WE NEED THIS!

The ability to adjust the in car cam stiffness.

Part of GT's problem is that the cameras do a horrible job showcasing G-Forces. This simple feature will fix that. When you stomp on a 900hp Lambo you should get sucked back in the seat and thrown side to side in corners.

Better yet just use NFS Shift 2's helmet cam. DO IT!

Which was terrible in my eyes.

Hence why i said "adjustable"

As it is right now taking off in a 70hp kia appears the same as taking off in a 500hp Evo. The camera doesn't move at all...... unless you hit a wall :indiff:

That's terrible.
Ahh ok, you said car cam stiffness, but meant the helmet cam? Sorry, I didn't see this.

I was mainly or actually only refering to the Shift 2 cam you mentioned. I didn't like that one.
Adjustable is good though.
