As I was once again enjoying the best driving game of all times, the Test Drive Unlimited, a thought crossed my mind - why can't there be a racing game which includes point-to-point/street racing (older NFS games, TDU), different missions (TDU) and regular track racing. In my opinion, GT6 would be the perfect title to include all this.

Gran Turismo 6: The World of Racing

The game takes place in an large area which would include highways, regular roads and gravel roads. Point-to-point racing routes cover different road types in one race event, so player needs to make right tyre and setup selection. These roads would also lead to racing tracks which are located all over the map area - these tracks are taken from real-world or fictional, they are regular and oval. There are predefined events as well as online events which can be spectated by other racing fans.

The areas of the map include cities, mountains, industrial areas etc. From cities you can purchase vehicles, in the mountains you can have a thrilling racing experience on tight, snowy roads, in the industrial area you can have a night drag race with friends.

The game also has police, weather effects and day/night cycle among other GT essentials.

No. Please no.

I have nothing against open world driving games but GT is not one of them and should never include open world driving especially illegal racing and police.

my ideas:

Tuning
Well in gt4 once you have a car all you can do is simple customizing like add a spoiler and changing rims. i want to see this section of the game expand into something more dynamic so you could personalize your care a little more.

  • Be able to chose non factory colours after you purchase your car and choose between gloss, metallic, and pearlescent colours e.g lime green, purple/ blue
  • replace headlights and taillights
  • Livery editor
  • put sponsor stickers on your car
  • Body kits
all of the above would turn a stock car into your own personalized racing car.

GT mode
To make gt mode more realistic, after a few good races you get deals with sponsors (this ties in with what i said in tuning) and earn more credits after races depending on your position. A spec points could have a role here (i.e the more A spec points you have, bigger and better sponsors would wanna check you out). another thing is your home garage, what would be cool is if when you start, you have a basic house with a small used garage but as you progress you can buy bigger and better houses/garages in different districts.

Tracks
this is really just a wishlist:

Silverstone
*Grand prix circuit
*national circuit
*international circuit/ north course
*south course

Albert Park
Sepang International circuit
Bahrain International Circuit
circuit de Catalunya,Barcelona
Istanbul Park Circuit,Istanbul
Circuit Gilles-Villenevue, Montreal
circuit Magny Cours Nevere,France
Hoeckheimring, Germany
Hungaroring Circuit, Budapest
Valencia Harborside Street circuit
spa Francorchamps
Monza
Singapore Street Circuit

Lastly for online racing as well as private rooms, voice chat, etc what i would like is a free drive mode for online, So no laps, positioning, time limit, etc and instead just track (chosen by host) were everyone could just chill out, hot lap, smash into each other, talk trash etc. In spectator mode what would be cool is if the camera is positioned where the grandstands are and the player could look left and right and watch everyone drive like in real life. finally when you pit instead of sending you straight back out again, the tuning menu appears so i could race and tune, race and tune until i find a good setting for my car

Of course it sounds like im asking too much but i hope PD considers this As DLC or when GT6 comes around:)

I guess this all to do with sound but these are nice touches. Rather than the GT5P rolling start screen...

An overall option that says if you want to start from the pit lane which allows the following:
- The clunk of a sound bite of the door closing (if interior mode) , which lets face it IS different for each car.
- And then the car ignition and turnover. Again IS different for each car.

Other things Id like to see

....a Master Account with the ability to setup/save individual accounts/profiles (which can be set with a login/pass so people dont go into your account and accidentally destroy/sell all of your cars). That way it's tidy and everyone gets to have their own driver profile with their own statistics, preferences, AI's, cars etc

...AI can be set to monitor your driving patterns and youre able to choose how close you want it to mimic them (i.e. braking zones, accel zones, avg speed, driving lines, driving style (e.g. aggressive (follows close, makes aggressive passing manoeuvers etc), alert (consistent, rarely makes mistakes or hits other cars), inconsistent (fluctuates between between average and awesome driving according to astrological cycles) lol.

...can setup individual AI's with their unique preferences/mimicry slider settings (requires you to clock up some driving time for each AI)

...can select the cars and AI's you want to race against in practice and arcade modes

...can name/save/copy/share/modify/delete individual AI's

I would say that if you are in Arcade Mode you can choose all your AI opponents Cars.

This may be a stretch but every track that Formula One has visited, so I can drive Pescara, Ceaser's Palace, and the Old Spa-Francorchamps.

Motorcycles would be cool, but I guess that will be DLC.

Legendary Formula One, Can-Am, Nascar, GT, from yesteryear.

are u serious?
i hope ur not.
if so, back in ur corner..

seriously, my last remaining faith in the world would be gone if this ever comes true.

No, just no!

go play nfs if u like that..
illegal streetracing... that aint even racing.. its just a bunch of pubescent kids, trying to mess with each other in blinky cars.. but it serioulsy has nothing in favour of racing.

A FREE TUNING MODE

When I beat nearly everything in Gran Turismo 4, i had put the game down for about 6 months until I had discovered the fun I could have tuning cars via cheating with a game shark. Now I don't want a game shark, nor the ability to cheat. Rather, I would like to see some kind of game mode that is just a free tuning mode. Select a car and tune in order to get the best lap time, that's it. Only be able to use those cars in the free tune mode. I just think it would be fun to be able to buy something and upgrade it as I saw fit without being concerned about my cash. In fact I would pay another 60.00 bucks to get just that feature as dlc.

Photo Mode
-Option to add up to 16 cars , choose locations for all 16 cars for the photo mode..
-GT4 had high quality Locations so keep that, plus new locations
-Pick any GT5 Track , any location on the track, and any number of cars and positions of each 1-16. In GT4 to take a pick you would have to RACE , in GT5 I don't wanna race, I want free roaming pictures, so Pick a car, place it anywhere on the track, maybe few more cars, snap pictures, etc etc.

I'd like damage to effect tyres and what not. For example a guard rubbing on a tyre "deflates" or reduces the life of the tyre.

I wouldn't mind some races, where you race cars in different eras e.g. on the original Silverstone track, SPA Francochamps, Monaco, Goodwood, Zandavoort, Rouen - Les - Esserts in France, Le Mans Bugatti track etc.If cars & or tracks come later as a download package, PD could make the 60's Touring Car Racing Championship as dlc. This way more diverse types of racing, could be played.I know some people don't want to pay for dlc, that's a shame.

I watched the V8.Supercars.Round10.Bathurst.1000km yesterday, and Wau man, that was a Race Style that would rock GT5 if you ask me, Orsm hunting for the 1st spot for about 5½ hours, and this is defiantly as interesting as Nascar, which is always hurting in my Right shoulder when driving in GT5p (Operation)

Another Fix that is very important for making GT5 as real as it should be, the Tires seems to be about 2 meter wide Hmm WHAT!! yes, yesterday I drove on Ex: Highspeed Ring rev, and to get the maximum speed, you have to get very close to the edges of the track, meaning you a driving over the track edges ( Stones and curves) but the sound from it, doesn't stop if you actually have the curves between your tires (in the middle of your car), meaning the empty space that there is when driving with 4 wheels (2 left 2 right) and that's a Boomer and needed to be fixed in the full version, because it's a very important feature to listing to when driving at High speed and NoT real at all.

As a Race driver you need the total awareness of the placement of your car, and with this as it is now, you don't know how close you actually are to the edge, that gives you the Red figures.. Boomer PD :)

PS. I hope you understand my Point here, I'm danish so please be gentle :)

An ace idea here, remember when Ali was fighting George Foreman well the same could be made for GT5.Could download & play very memorable Nascar races, WRC rounds & remember races at Bathurst like when the R32 Skyline GTR first raced there or when Tom Walkinshaw had driven his XJS at Bathhurst in 85.I would be ecstatic if that was possible.

Tuning
  • Very detailed tuning of every part that still relates to real life abilities of the part. Seems like some cars have certain limits on racing parts that just isn't right.
  • Adjustable Tire Pressure
  • Ballast weight. Didn't GT4 have this feature?
  • Removal of OEM parts with noticable difference. i.e. Take off certain body parts that aren't needed/wanted. Add parts and "see" the difference. i.e. HID head light conversions, Remove rear seat and "see" that it's gone.
  • Swap Parts from other cars.
  • Modify original drivetrains. i.e. 5 speed to 6 speed. FWD to AWD, ETC.
  • Dyno tests and fine tuning adjustments. PCM tuners would be nice to be able to buy.

GT Auto
  • Paint every single part. Each individual body part no matter how small. Including individual suspension parts, underbody, frame/chassis, interior parts, wheels, calipers, etc.
  • Body part/panel freeform shaping.
  • Customizable windows tint for street cars / Netting for Race cars.

I think the thing that needs to be adressed the most is the AI, it never seems to totally push the cars in the sense that they don't do what you would do if you were really pushing = taking the car right to the exit apex on the throttle, also improve the AI's awareness of the players car and what the player does, judging by the TGS trailers the AI cars are no longer 'tanks' from the collisions i saw in the SLS gameplay footage, but id like to see the AI frantically swerve and break to avoid an accident.

What would be brilliant for GT is if they found a way of creating AI which replicates real life professionals, so it can be a Schumacher/Button = consecutively stringing together a blistering pace, especially when it comes to pit stops, or it can be Senna = blisteringly quick at all times and doing whatever it takes to pass

i would like to see better looking crowds of people in the stands or besides the roads. it would be cool to have a replay camera on a helicopter or blimp. i would also like to see moving water on the lakes and streams. it would be nice to have more things that would make the environment seem as if it is always full of life. gt5p and the games before it felt like a football game without all the fans/people. racing is fun but after a while, it feels really dead...But that's another story.

Seriously? GT5P's crowds look fine to me... they certainly look better than Forza 3's.

Bathurst, Mount Panorama. Its not really world known like the Nurb', but a seriously amazing track. If it had that, and some old 80s touring cars like turboed Ford Sierras, old falcons/toranas and those early Nissan GT-Rs that dominated the mountain for 2 years before getting banned... I'd be happy.

Pro Race Driver 2 had Bathurst, it was great despite the game being awful otherwise!

In response to the thread title.... Grid girls and lots of them ;) I bet Kaz can make some "perfect" female characters...

A city would be nice. Maybe just one. Where you can mark off the track any way you like. Very detailed. including Alley ways, tunnels, and maybe a few sections of a freeway.

Then maybe another thing like this but a rally track. Where you get to mark off the sections how you want. As well as the direction. Intersecting roads could make for some interesting "Derby" style races. lol. That would be a good thing if there were used cars to beat up on.
