PD really loves waiting. It's like they step away from all logic sometimes. Like having an option to freely choose day and night tracks on arcade mode instead of waiting. Or having to unlock damage.

I would like only one thing, to be able to add a number to all my cars. At least then it feels like they are a racing car with a number and body mods then the lack of RM for all cars wont hurt so much.

- Idiotic restrictions on paints, remove them.

- Lack of a preview function when painting cars/wheels (combined with the above "one use only" paint thing is absolutely disgraceful).

- More XP/money for events, remove the grind, this is about driving great cars, not farming. Even at half the grind we'd still be playing for 100+ hours to get anywhere near unlocking all the cars in the game.

I think these three things are not only INCREDIBLY easy for Polyphony to implement, they would also dramatically improve the game for everybody.

I fully expect someone to defend the grind, but seriously, think about just how much time you're going to spend on artificial time sinks in this game, farming MMO style.

The previous incarnations of GT5 never needed such extreme levels of grind, I don't see why it's necessary for them to add it now. Getting 100% is a long term goal in a GT game and it doesn't need to force you to repeat races to achieve it, that's just a backwards way of thinking and very poor game design.

Change the whole game! ..and to top it off, after typing a whole lot about this crap game, I press backspace and the whole text disappears...?? WT* 🤬

Actually I like the restricted paints. It just makes the colors more personal(it also lends to realism, when you see a clean paint job, its, "oh I wish I had that..", rather than "oh, I'm about to go and do the same thing!"), but I don't like the fact that you can only use the colors once, I'd change that.

Also, I would like to be able to change rims on standards.

- Rewind, fast forward and slo-mo in replays
- The ability to take a picture with the replay cam.
- Quick links(the ability to go straight to the tune shop from races)
- The ability to work with multiple cars in photo travel

Somethings I'd like to add:

- The ability to nickname your cars.
- The ability to save your replays, and convert them to the XMB for editing.

1. Ability to save during a 24-hour race.

2. Ability to sub in B-spec bob during an A-spec 24-hour race.

3. Unlimited Paint Chips...please!

4. Fast-forward replays and B-spec.

It's not as important as some of the things already mentioned but I'd like some kind of reference to the type of gear box in each car so I know whether its more accurate to use the paddles, H-gate or sequential shifter. Most of the time it's pretty obvious but in the standard cars you can't just go into the dash cam view and see.

And yes there has been some (or at least one that I can think of in GT4) cars that have a sequential gear box.

Unlimited Paint uses when you unlock the colour, More events, More non-Japanese cars, a more in-depth and free will course creator, more premiums, less Sony preoccupations, Weather and Time on every track, MORE USED CAR LOTS AND LESS LAZINESS WHEN DOING CAR STATS!

instead of the ECU upgrade giving fixed HP, you could have a slider to decide whether you want more low-end power or high-end power (within reason of course).

The only real disappointment I've found with the game is A-spec mode . It's the reason I bought the game . I don't play games online . B-spec is ok but I don't get excited about it . I want to race all kinds of cars on all kinds of tracks for all kinds of credits and prize cars .

For A-Spec:

Sector-based timing splits
Clutch Wear/unreliability with unmaintained cars

For B-Spec:

Sector-based command system with the ability to preassign commands
Sector-timing splits
Ability to choose specific tires to change or skip changing.

Change the whole game! ..and to top it off, after typing a whole lot about this crap game, I press backspace and the whole text disappears...?? WT* 🤬

So...about that whole, "You joined a Gran Turismo forum even though you hate the game" thing... Methinks your time would be better spent elsewhere. Like, huddled up next to a box of tissues, drying your tears.

How about a simple "default view" option? While the game remembers between events, I have to change it each time I start the game.

Then again, I guess they'd also have to include the much-requested generic interior so the game doesn't crash when you have default view set to cockpit and start up a standard car.

So far on my thread travels I noticed a few things that would benefit us all If changed.
Though nearly a month after release I'm loving the game & can cope with It's imperfections & live without the items listed below.

Top gear test track needs to be enabled with a standing start & with a leaderboard.

Saved data shouldn't be copy protected.

Add some more recent model years as free DLC.

Standard car > premium.

All tracks with weather effects.

Some sort of cockpit view for standard cars.

Make realistic damage an option.

Implement higher resolution self-shadowing.

Upload to youtube feature.

More tracks as DLC.

Sound needs to be more aggressive.

Allow players to turn off ALL HUD elements.

Allow players to use a controll pad to navigate the menus while having a wheel plugged in.

Full support of G25 and G27 wheels.

More realistic handling of "tape" barriers.

I'd like to use my own photo stored on my PS3 for my GT Life profile,

ALL tracks from GT1-GT4 that didn't make it to GT5 brought back

Full selection of NASCAR drivers and ALL NASCAR tracks

ALL tracks have weather and night racing.

Standard mountain courses with narrow roads. Racing from Point A to B.

LAN play.

A true 24H day/night cycle.

Livery Editor.

Ability to use paint chips on any car body/rims as many times as you want.

Ability to gain credits from online races.

Ability to race people for pink slips.

Some sort of marketplace or auction house.

Ongoing patches to correct some of the well known glitches.

Being able to change wheels on all the cars like gt1,2,3,4,5p.

Multiple used car lots like gt4.

Online PP point system like gt5p.

Being able to customize individual gear ratios instead of just a top speed slider.

Brake upgrades like gt1,2,3,4,5p.

Proper Replay Camera Angles on TOP GEAR TEST TRACK similar on the show itself.

More control over course maker! Templates.

Preview what the car looks like in a certain paint before purchasing.

More body kits

Invite friends to a online race

Custom colours for cars

Fix the car in front of smoke texture.

Fast forward in b-spec.

Longer shutter speeds in photo mode.

Save and exit in the middle of a championship.

Ability to save a tune of at least the 3 tune option.

Option to run a series of races in multiplayer mode.

Drag strip/test track

During replays we cant fast forward or rewind.

Cars are dry when its raining.

Weather effects that resemble real life via The Weather Channel.

2 player replay.

Please add your issues.

I agree with all of the above, and add:

The blatantly obvious one is better AI. For f's sake, just rip off Forza's. Their series started later, pumps out new iterations faster, and has great AI. The GT AI is beyond horrible, and its flaws are just more painfully apparent with every new GT release. FIX IT ALREADY! I don't care if 0 improvements happen to the GT physics in the future if that means all the time is spent fixing the damn AI. Since the AI is a gimme, here are the others, some I'm surprised to have not seen on this thread yet:

1. Ability to Qualify for a race. Random starts mid-pack? annoying. What's even more annoying is the fact that without that qualifying/practice session, any tweaks to your car (ie: gearing for each track) is a guess because you can't test it out. Should I go to practice mode and test the car on each track I foresee facing in a Championship Series and write down the gearing that works? BS. Don't want me to qualify for pole position? Fine. At least let me test run the car to dial in my settings.

2. Ability to save different setups for each car, that way you can have your Nurb settings for example, and then with one click, you're ready to go for a smoother circuit track--gearing, suspension, aero, all wrapped into one package. Is the PS3 hard drive inferior to PS1 memory cards that could hold that information? I think not.

3. A "Dock" at the bottom of every screen in GT Life, with menu buttons for things like Garage, GT Auto, Tuning, Practice, A-Spec... you know, the home menu. Want to be stellar? Make it customizable so people can add their own shortcut destinations.

4. Someone said the ability to swap out for your B-Spec driver during an endurance race. I think that's an awesome idea. Reap the rewards of your hard work watching his dumb ass spin off the track during his rookie years.

5. I can only racing modify like 20 out of 1,031 cars? I feel like in GT1, you could racing mod 75%. Along the same lines, I also liked someone's suggestion to be able to slap a number on every car. Maybe just cars that have a number/have a racing mod, but why can I only change the number on some of them? I don't care what the real car had. I have an identity, and a number. Isn't that the point of the game?

6. The difference between ABS at 1 and at 0 is ridiculous. Coming from someone who has driving Formula Ford open-wheeled race cars, which have no ABS, it takes a LOT of braking to lock wheels. With ABS at 0 in GT5, it takes like a hairline of braking. It's still better than the total mush at ABS-1, but far too twitchy to feel real.

7. Why don't collisions affect the AI as much as human driver? An AI NASCAR driver DRILLS me on Daytona because the GT5 AI doesn't know how to make a clean pass, and I get sent in a spiraling abyss for like 3 minutes. If I, for ***** and giggles, decide to take revenge and do the same thing, I get sent in a spiraling abyss while he motors on without so much as a little falter. The technique of late-braking and intercepting a racing line into a corner is sort of lost when the AI doesn't have to yield the right of way to the overtaking car, like they would in a real race. It gets worse when they keep their speed up and slam into you; they don't budge off their line, you get sent into the wall. If you won't fix the AI, then at least make them suffer the consequences for their inability to distinguish "obstructions" from "open road"

8. Why do the tires go from blue to sort of white as they wear? Sometimes in the heat of battle, it's hard to tell if you're being impetuous with the pedals or if you've burned up your tires prematurely. I like how they show when they are hot and then cool down, but the "normal" temperature tire wear indicator is vague. Green good, red BAD. Back to the basics.

9. When in cockpit view, in some cars it is hard to see the rear view and side mirrors, and some cars you see nothing out the back window, and yes I'm aware that's how a Lambo is in real life. It would be cool if in addition to look left/right/back, you could map buttons on your controller for left/right/rearview mirrors. You can sort of sometimes see the side mirrors when you look left/right, but not always.

10. Someone said in addition to gifting cars, an option to loan cars, and give money. I second that. With the loan option having a time limit, so you know that no matter what, your deadbeat friend is "returning" your Scuderia in 48 hours whether he's beat the Ferrari race or not.

11. DON'T LOSE CARS IN GIFT-TRANSIT! Hopefully 1.4 patch will fix this. That is a huge issue, and ruins an otherwise pretty cool feature. Give me my f'ing Gallardo back!

12. Too many steps to acquire a car. Meaning: you win an event, you are notified you have a car. You go to Car Delivery, you click on the icon, "You sure you want to use this now?" Um, NO! Cars are like scotch. You need to let them age in the car delivery. Come on, that's stupid. Just put the damn thing in my garage. Oh and how about receiving a gift? Community > receive all > items > Yes, use this item now > Car delivery (I might be wrong on this, it may go straight to garage at this point, but really, 4 steps later, the damage is already done) > Garage > Oh ****, by now I'm already playing a different game.

13. How about a new approach to license tests? Instead of "do it over and over until you figure it out and get it right," a virtual coach would be really cool. They already have the Data Analyzer. It would be so helpful, and fun, and add to the immersion of "becoming a race car driver" if after you failed test B-5, a voice says "you carried too much speed into the corner and were off your line. Your exit speed was greatly reduced as a result" or "try trailing the brake further into the turn and releasing it later to generate rotation on the car" or "You got a gold! Go get a beer."

14. An option to set your medal goal for license tests. If you are dead set on earning gold, then you don't want to sit through the animation for getting a silver again...and again... and back to the menu... If I was finishing and wasn't far enough ahead of my ghost to think I had a shot at gold, I'd try to slam into a wall before crossing the finish so that I was one-click away from restarting.

15. Special Events that are more Special and less License Tests round 2. I thought NASCAR beginner and intermediate were great examples of how to teach a unique skill without it feeling "license testy." Haha, testy.

16. Ability to earn credits and maybe experience from online races. Sure, plenty of tools out there will race their friends and take turns winning to boost each other, a-la the riot shield boost in Modern Warfare 2. F those kids. Don't ruin an experience trying to safeguard the game from idiots.

17. Horsepower limits on races. It's great that the patch added that option for online. Now put it back in single player. Force people to learn how to drive, or let them go buy Mario Kart. Again, stop pandering.

18. Better sorting in the garage. What happened to sort by power to weight ratio? That's like the most important thing!

19. The ability to go to an event, and click the garage button to view eligible rides in your garage is pretty great. Another one-click button to go to the tune shop to buy the right tires or something would also be great. (this brings me back to the Dock idea from #3, I suppose)

20. Ability to test drive a car before you buy

21. 22. An indicator on the buy car screen that says if it is Premium or not. There is an indicator on the used cars thumbnails, but not at the dealerships. Why did PD only do that half way? Also, an indicator saying if it can be racing modified or not would be nice, seeing as how GT5 auto-saves and gone are the days of buying a car, seeing if it can modify how you want, and if not, just re-loading your save file from before you wasted money on the car.

22. An option to go to Community > (your name) > and a choice to see all of your friends' logs consolidated onto one log. Same with message boards.

23. You can easily switch from kilometers to miles but not from kilograms to pounds? Laziness.

24. +1,009th vote for Reasonably Priced Cars for the Top Gear Test track. And a leaderboard to go with it, which, at the start, has the celebrities' times from the show.

25. Course marshals and flags.

26. A default "driving options" setup in the root options menu. I'm tired of having to turn off the TC and ABS every time I drive a car for the first time

I feel like I'm 5 and this was a Christmas list that was way too long and I won't ever get anything on it. I never did get that grenade launcher...

Whatever, here it is, Santa.

Brake upgrades
Adjustable Gear Ratios
Racing Mod on most cars
Turbos for European and American Cars (WTF PD has been to SEMA thay have to have seen a few Turbo Mustangs, Vettes and Camaros?????)
paint and wheel changes on all cars with out losing the paint color.
DLC with American, European and Korean cars (Stuff that has been raced not just stuff that designers liked the shape)

We should be able to pre-order a used car. Then when the car is available on the second hand market, we will be notified.

Isn't this is the way it works in real life? We ask the sec-hand dealer to look for certain car for us, then the dealer will let us know when it is available.

Out standing Idea!

An A-Spec event that makes use of the course generator to give you an endless supply of XP and Credits without the feeling of grinding.. There could be special one make races/historic/GT/Rally/etc as well as difficulty levels.

My list I have been updating since Day 1...

No mileage by dials as per GT4.

No manufacturer races.

Short career mode.

Kart standing start - never in my life have I seen a professional kart series have standing starts.

Best laps not showing on screen on AMG challenges.

No support for G25, proper FFB settings, deadzone adjust etc.

Show's KM's in used car when I have it set to miles.

In car shake not needed, headaches galore.

It exports photos to XMB with the same filename so you have to go through each one before copying.

Buy snow tyres but choose not to fit, then go to use them and they are gone and have to re-buy.

Some cars sound poor, no VTEC crossover on B- Series etc, Forza 3 managed it o.k.

Dials inop on certain Premium's, e.g. HKS Evo.

No Top Gear standing start.

Lapped cars should not be allowed to un-lap themselves after finish, should show as +1 lap etc.

Certain events when you exit it goes back to home screen rather than race screen.

No vehicle classes, some A-Spec races are left pointless.

Too easy in Arcade, bring backs Prologue's 0-100 slider bar difficulty system.

Online Time Trail Rankings???

When using G25 H-Pattern, car does not idle, dies to 0 rpm.

Only 10 slots for time trial rankings.

Glue like effect when behing cars.

Lack of tuning, brake upgrades, gear ratios.

Game freezing/crashing.

Bring back GT4 tracks.

Be able to turn off HUD.

A proper course editor.

Fast-forward B-Spec.

Fast Forward & Rewind replays.

Otherwise I'm enjoying it a lot. :)

- Option to turn off sector stop watch beep.

- Point to point stages in Course Maker.

- Fix the open wheel race cars going through the track:

rome_1py7r.jpg

which causes a violent vibration when using steering wheel.

- Bring back the replay filters as seen in GT5 Prologue

There needs to be a 400m, 1000m and max speed test track. I used to spend half my time in the old GTs just modifying different cars and doing these to see where they each stacked up (and a 1000-car leaderboard, so I can do a proper comparison should come with it).

Also, DRIFT EVENTS. Why on Earth they did not set up A-spec/B-spec or special DRIFT events alongside the race modes (As they do with the rally races) I'll never know. They were very fun in GT5:P.

STANDARD CARS NEED WHEEL CHANGES too. Standard cars are the most in need of wheel changes (usually old, dull vehicles), and there is no technical reason why they couldn't provide it.

COLOUR PALLETTE/RGB system for car paint as in, well, almost every other game.

the ability to install both turbo and superchargers on the same engine
Different sized superchargers, ability to add more than one turbo charger (up to the maximum amount possible for the engine) and we can mix different sized turbos for one engine. For example, if our car has low torque on the low rpms, we can install one supercharger + low turbo + High turbo to get a nice smooth torque band.
However the price of adding some of these would have to be crazy expensive to balance it out.

I also agree that the standards need custom wheels. It doesn't seem hard to implement at all.

I didn't see anyone post this but I was looking very strongly at F1 2010 and thought why not have realistic drivers? What I mean is improved AI that actually are famous racers and they'll drive the way they are supposed to. As well as maybe have a season like Nascar with points instead of levels. Something like that. And still retain the racing sim aspect. I think that would make it better in my opinion. Cause all we have is grinding without any real damage to losing.

totally remove B-Spec and replace that waste of memory with cockpits for standard cars, ANY improvements to the AI because its terrible, and basically everything else on the list...
