I just wanted it because I'm a collector but I couldn't stand waiting for it to be mailed I'm in the us so I opted for collectors

I bought a signature edition, but i can't find the card for this SLS challenge.
I checked the box and wallet 10+ times already :grumpy:
My country (Belgium) is not on the list of countries to take part in this competition, but i want to be 100% sure.

So anybody else got the card?

B spec... I feel sorry for those that purchased it expecting a 'fair' shot of winning. There are drivers on GTPlanet with immaculate driving that now have to place their chances on a stupid system to win. They were tremendously misleading... . I thought it would be GT Academy like, once again. My trust level goes a bit down of PD and Im left realising that we need to interpret everything and take it with a pinch of salt.

Exactly what they were trying to prevent. EVERYONE who purchased a SE is eligible, and also now has a fair chance, to win. It isn't about indiviual skill, but how well you direct your driver.

If it was A-spec and I had bought the SE, I wouldn't even try. I see how I did just in WRS, so I know I'd have no chance compared to the guys who have been doing this with a wheel for years.

I bought the Signature Edition and I don't know what to say. I'm not a fast driver so if it was like the academy I wouldn't have a chance, but it would be nice to compare my times to the best. Also the SLS would go the the better driver, now it just seems random luck. Why not a lottery instead?

It is in the wallet. Look in the flap with the clear compartment for your driving license etc and it will be in there. Behind a piece of card. There should be a scratch off panel revelaing your code.

Hope this helps.

And to the OP, yes this sucks a bit, especially if we don't have long to train Bob up to speed as I've got a Lvl 11 B Spec, but if I had known this I would probably have played nothng but B Spec in order to get him to Lvl 40 by now!

However, at least as someone has said, it is more likely to be random as we all use the same gaming code, it's just a bit of a pi**take to do it this way.

Ho hum, I didn't buy the SE for an SLS.

Very well said. Although I am miffed, I pretty much support PD in this choice as I am fast, but I don't have a wheel. At least it's levelling the playing field somewhat.

Does anybody know if this is the chance to win just one in the world or are there regions and multiple prizes?

I don't want to compete with the rest of the US etc...

Like someone mentioned above, its random luck now. As apposed to sheer skill. Personally, I would lose to the best, Im a pro with the controller, not the wheel. I'd rather lose to pro's than sheer luck. Also, validity and authenticity will be thrown in the mix. I dont want to scream 'foul', but mark my words. Mercedes Benz is running it.. , its their car. I'll be mighty surprized if a german wouldnt win it. We live in an era of trickery and deceit. Who knows what will happen..its all happening digitally anyway.

i just hope my bob is in position 1 i can sit and watch a 24hour parade with my driver in the front of it knowing i can win a car..

No competition for Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg. :(

This. If it was A-spec, they'd be as well just posting an SLS out to Australia* addressed to a Mr D Holland.

* Don't know if Aus is eligible, but you get my point.

I may need to get Bob doing his 'ting!

I brought the Signature Edition, but resigned myself to the fact that some other, younger and faster guy, would get the gold, but news of this has made me a contender again! :D 👍

My Bob owns on a wide track, absolutely terrible on a narrow. Looking forward to this never the less and i like the idea, giving everyone a chance at the SLS rather than people having an advantage with wheels etc.

i think its a good idea, gives everyone a pretty much fairly equal chance. A-spec it would boil down to about 10-20 people having a chance while everyone else was miles off.

most people probally wouldn't even bother entering if it was a-spec as they would know they would get pwned.

Yeah and now we have a "competition" where people who spent the most time training their B-Spec will win. I've already seen people cheating with the B-Spec too with a controller emulator.

I wouldn't mind so much if we were able to race our drivers online in BSpec mode. I would be absolutely rinsing it all day everyday from now until the. Start of the competition.

We need more information on this!

I splashed out on the Signature edition mostly because it's a very collectible edition and a really special purchase, I wanted to pay for the greatest tribute possible to the game I've looked forward to more than any other. Undoubtedly the possibility of such a limited entry competition with a magnificent prize added to the attraction.

I did well in my region for GT Academy so I also felt I had a good chance in A Spec mode, so B Spec mode was a disappointment initially and again, disappointing that I didn't know that before purchase. However, I still would have bought the SE though, and the Stealth/Chromeline cars, Apex book, model car, wallet, peripherals have been thoroughly satisfying and for me, worth the money. I gifted a SE to my brother, so now he has as much chance of winning as I do, which is a great thing.

In all honesty, I would have preferred an A-spec competition, and maybe that is what Sony and PD originally had in mind. However, the resources required to run a US Academy and more Euro/Australasion Academy events next year may well have tipped the balance to something requiring less venue-based events etc for the Signature contest.

This. If it was A-spec, they'd be as well just posting an SLS out to Australia* addressed to a Mr D Holland.

I believe messers A.Lacombe (France), T,Koskela (Finland), R.Cullel (Spain) and L.Schlomer (Germany) would take some issue with that assumption ;) 👍

All the best
Maz

I didn't buy the SE for the SLS competition but I'm glad it is in B spec. It gives everyone a much fairer chance to win the car.

Can you tell more about this? Sounds interesting.. :p

It's kind of complicated, only know a German source for that and don't quite get everything. But it basically helps to let the B-Spec drive for himself, like an auto-grind, the controller is hooked up to your PS3 AND PC with a bluetooth dongle and a script inside of Ubuntu (Linux) does the rest.

I'm disappointed as it never occurred to me that it would be a B-spec competition and I don't have enough hours in the day (or the interest) to run the B-spec side of GT5. Now, if the competition had been like the previous GT Academys then I wouldn't have had a hope of winning but it would have been fun to see how well I could do.

(Then again I wish I hadn't bought the Signature Edition in the first place to be honest as for me GT5 has been a big disappointment all round - just had to get that off my chest! :-))

Good call from Sony and PD. If they hadn't done this then this competition would pretty much not be more than a showdown among 10 or so of the top drivers in eligible countries. This makes all the sense in the world when it's GT Academy but when an actual physical prize is at stake it's much more fair this way.

Not that all of this matters for me though... being in the US and all... :)

Can you explain how is counting on your demented Bob fairer than the fastest driver wining?
