I was just wondering, what's the fastest someone has gotten with the nissan gt-r proto LM car? I've got to 288 mph at one point, so im sure 300 is doable in it - with skills better than mine
It's been tried a lot of times, but nobody's ever done it. The aerodynamic qualities of a brick catch up with it very quickly when you get near to 300mph. It has a tendancy to wheelie, too. I'm pretty sure it's incapable, but I'd like to be proven wrong!
If the R34 can do it...

I already have that same Ford GT on the leader board with a similar speed (but slightly slower), so it's definitely possible. Are you sure that's a Ford GT, with no hybrid parts?
Do you have a MaxDrive or similar to send us a replay-file? Because Toronado tried the Ford GT, hard, and didn't manage...
And in what way is this doing 300mph?OpendriverI have, and I got stuck at about 292.
Turn your camera's flash off , if it was on (looks like it was there) - this screws up the photos of the TV screen immensely, and it looks like you had it on then. Nice work, thoughChampCarFan(2 diff angles for clarity)
If, as an experienced driver, you reckon it's OK, then we're clear with that verificationMSNo need for a video verification with this one if you ask me. It's only required for class records, speeds over 350mph and speeds which seem suspicious. In this case, none of the above apply.
The video quality/resolution wasn't the problem...I know this video not clear ,but that what I have, I dont have TV PCI
so I used my camera phone, sorry for bad resultion![]()
- 2. At no point in your run must any of the car's wheels leave the ground. At no point in your run must your car make contact with any barrier, visible or invisible.
So unfortunately, we cannot allow that run on the leader board. It also makes us suspicious that the other speeds you posted break the rules in a similar way. I'll give you props for using your initiative with the camera phone though, and for the standing 180 spin at the start. 👍
- 4. You must not at any point in your top speed attempt travel backwards around the course.

Congratulations, Shadow!

Something just clicked with this car,
Thanks for dealing with that. Glad I've got guys to keep things in order when we get these busy spurts of activity! 👍MSSo unfortunately, we cannot allow that run on the leader board. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - after a couple of runs you usually can tell how much work a car's going to ask of you. I thought the Skylines were asking a lot, until I eventually figured out their ways. Almost all of the cars are unique, so we keep learningShadowOk, how should I put this... I don't want to be labeled as some arrogant prick. (I have my problems with some cars, like Pagani Zonda, Dodge Viper & Nissan Skyline) But it was quite easy to push Ford GT over 300mph, took about 1 hour to do it and 2 days to brake record. Something just clicked with this car, I didn't use that much time for tranny/suspension tweaking. It was more finding correct driving line & nitrous timing. With my setup it was really important to get that curve right. Little mistake in the curve and you can forget 300mph.
Ok.My challenge for MasterStorm. Take your Mclaren & Ford GT to test track and beat my speeds.
2 days? Almost makes me feel bad beating your challenge so quickly. Sorry!I don't want to be labeled as some arrogant prick. Sometimes initial impressions are not enough; I found a car yesterday which will only do around 270-280 or thereabouts with all the standard setup changes made and gearing tweaked to near optimum. However, I've found a way for this car to potentially break 300mph... it's just a matter of getting the run right (and I've hit 298.xx twice with bad gearing). If you thought racing line was import in cars that get the 'power shakes', then the line needed for this will blow you away.Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - after a couple of runs you usually can tell how much work a car's going to ask of you.
I would have let that pass personally, from looking at the size/shape of the cars shadow as it hits about 360mph. DE's the adjudicator though, and his decision is the one that counts.shangoob, I'm afraid I can't accept that video as verification for a speed that high. The quality is just too low - it's too difficult to see distinctly the wheels and the track, and the instability makes it hard to get a bearing on where things are. Sorry, but I can't allow that to go through.![]()
