Not good to Isolate certain things I posted them and reply directly to that selected part.

Part that Daan isolated: "On boards like this, people should work as a team to help keep the place enjoyable for everyone".
Daan's Reply to it: "We are, thanks".

The reply you gave in that context makes it sound like I was making out this board doesn't already work as a team.
This was not my intentions, I was clearly stating I would like to take responsibility and be part of the community to serve in a good way and keep it free of troublemakers.

First of all... Hello GT, after all this time I finally decided to join this forum thingy place as you suggested, So thanks on your behalf for me to spend some time and tell people my opinions 👍

300MPH is no longer a big deal, personally I have been tuning cars for years throughout the GT series, and reaching 300MPH isn't much of a task anymore, especially with cars that far exceed 900BHP

I don't do much "Speed Tests"
But so far I have got the Minolta to exceed 361.00MPH with the use of Nitro
And the Bentley Speed 8 to 295.71MPH also by using nitro
If I was to spend as much time tuning the Bentley as I did on the Minolta, I am sure the car has enough power to pull off speeds over 305MPH

Remember, if it's over 900 BHP then there is a high chance it will hit over 300, it’s all about matching the gears to the torque so you have constant power from the beginning of the gear range to the end.

As for you people talking about "Wheelies" I have never managed to make any of my cars do a wheelie yet though I hear that in GT4 the Wheelies have no effect anyway.
Common physics would dictate that a wheelie would actually slow a car down in real life as the rear chassis would hit the ground and cause friction kinda like "bottoming out". One would guess that a wheelie is achieved by having overpowered rear downforce and underpowered front downforce, As for the rest, I'm not sure.
wheelie runs to increase your top speed but nowhere near as much as the prev gt's

Not sure if this had been posted before, or if everyone is already doing this... but theres a trick i've been doing since GT3 when i need more track length to help reach that top speed before crossing the finish line. While at the Test Course, i'll actually drive my car in the wrong direction. There are quite afew benefits from this.. one being that once you cross the finish line while going the wrong way, the game won't coun't that as a "lap". Therefore you can keep going full out until you've topped out. Also it will still record your fastest speed. However, there is a downside to this... at some point you must stop your car and turn it around into the correct direction and complete the actual lap. Bit of caution though... in GT4 for every lap done in the "wrong direction" you must complete that many laps in the correct direction.

EDIT 14/10/05
The Rac3rX Section - Advanced Rules
1. All speeds must be proven by photograph to go onto the leaderboard. All record-breaking speeds must be proven by video.
2. At no point in your run must any of the car's wheels leave the track
3. All speed runs must be made at the Test Course in Max Speed Test mode.
4. You must not at any point in your top speed attempt travel backwards around the course.
5. Nitrous is allowed where available.
6. Whether a car is catagorised as road or racing class is usually very clear, however in some situations it is not. My decision is final when there is doubt on this.
7. No cheat systems or cheat codes are allowed.
8. You may share settings if you wish, however nobody can force you to do so.
9. Please act with courtesy and respect at all times

Toronado, how's it going on the overall LSR, you had a go at the 'clean sweep' of the board yet?

I'm currently trying to get that pig of a Ford GT to pull 300 first. IU have all three versions of the road car, and they are all stuck at around 298! As is my Saleen S7 with it's fascist unadjustable downforce. Besides, the only Toyota TS020 I have is a black beauty, and plunking about $7 million with change for a writeup I will be doing soon drained my money pool to around $3 million. It's also not easy to compete with Rac3rX now that he has had about a month's head start.
As a side note, do I call it or do I call it.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I have a new record for a car already listed: The Cadillac Cien (Yet another Ozmac record bites the dust. He Needs to come back!) and an as yet unlisted Japanese car. Hint: It's mid-engined. I probabyly will get them up tommorow.
Edit #2: What is it with the '95 3000GT? I don't see why it's faster. I'll dig mine out.

Sorry Guys, didnt read the full thread, I guess its not a new record. Can someone save me a lot of time reading and tell me what the current record is?

Toronado, yep... Ozmac probably should come back :p but I bet you'd complain if he did and took back a record or two!

Cheers NoQuarter, saved me another pointless reply :)

Oh, and Toronado I like your sig link to here  nicely played off the stuff I've said about our 'un/officialness'!

hey guys your all great in your sucesses but you haven helped any one out fully so ima get thes nwb's that wanna break 300mph but ill let em figure out how to break 325mph

so here you nwb's go

minolta

gear ratios

1 - 4.175
2 - 2.572
3 - 1.776
4 - 1.283
5 - .990
6 - .730
F - 3.250
A - 23

nos (yes please) put it all the way to power
down force is good when you wanna drive if you know what i mean but set it 23 above minum on front and rear

Next challenge for the noobs (or anyone) is trying to get 332MPH without using NOS (or that wheelie trick thingamabob)
And 361 with it
All done on the Toyota Minolta 88c-v
I done it, so can they, and remember, gear ratio's are not the only settings that effect the cars speed

I still haven't had time to try and break that guys 368MPH on the GT-ONE :)
Sounds pretty Difficult but I’ll give it a crack

I’m not normally a "beat someone else’s record" kind of person but after being on this forum for a few days I’m feeling pretty competitive now :p

Total Record Breaking Action!
New Record for the Cadillac Cien: 306.61 MPH
10039446vl.jpg

New Record for the Tommy kiara ZZ-II (from Leonidae's unfinished speed of 297): 312 & 1/4 MPH (A little more tuning and this could go after the road car record!). So, based on the little knowledge I have of this car, I'd say it takes the Official Unofficial Gran Turismo 4 Inline-6 Land Speed Record!
10039438sc.jpg

I love my records.
Fastest V6.
Fastest Small Block Chevy.
Fastest Inline-6.
Fastest car that's basically from 1976.
I want fastest truck engine (oh so close).
I also want fastest car with fascist un-adjustable downforce (again, very close).
Not to mention my need for fastest ungainly piece of tripe, which I am close to getting as well:

Here are my top Speeds all with posted videos.

Race Car LSR
368.74mph - GT-One

Race Car No NoS LSR
320.79mph - GT-One

Production Car LSR
324.55mph - GTO VR4 '95 6.2 mile edition

Production Car No NoS S2 LSR
260.05mph - Viper SRT-10

Official/Unoficial or or not, they are the fastes speeds recorded in GT4 for each class.

My lates is the Production Car No NoS S2 LSR

R series tires only add 1 or 2 mph.

Here is the Video.

Well you care about your records (even though you put 2 LSR's in your Sig that Have been Surpassed, wether official/unoficial or not)

I care about mine :sly: And My New One :sly:

Yeah, but you see, there is a difference.
  • in my sig they are labeled as official. You argue that they have been surpassed, but not officialy, as you even say, so it's perfectly Okay for me to put them there.
  • I don't go crazy flame war ballistic when someone doubts my times, which is what got you banned in the first place
  • if you don't care if anyone else cares (which they don't), why in the hell did you even post them in the first place?
  • I'm doing this for fun. If you haven't figured that out then there is no help for you. If this thread never existed I wouldn't care less. I would just tune on in peace. You, however, take joy in showing others up in there obvious inferiority to you.

Well said Toronado, and it's nice to see that the moderators never sleep through Racer's many poor disguises. 👍 to them.

About your records Toronado, well done! It seems you're rapidly taking over here :p I'll stick them up on the 'board now!

I love the way you descibe them  'I also want fastest car with fascist un-adjustable downforce (again, very close).' *cough*saleen*cough*

Sorry I don't post much nowadays guys, Don't get much time for games with the restaurant and the music company to manage, but on the days I'm likely to get any time free (Tuesday, Friday, Sunday) usually not very busy days so I might be able to get home early and play some GT and try to beat that GT-ONE 368MPH record...
I know I cannot PROVE it with solid evidence since I own no camera, but what I can do is share my exact settings and methodology and help people to achieve the same goal.
With a few more tweaking on the Minolta's settings, If I get it over my current 361 then I will post the settings here and an exact tuning report on how it was achieved.

Until then, all take care and have fun thrashing the cars until they spit out the last point mile of an hour possible :)

if any1 wants a road car that can do over 300... try the Zonda... i messed for all off 30 seconds and got just under 305mph out of it... bit of fine tuning and i'm sure some1 can get a lot more than i did...

driftin_daz, we've got plenty of 300mph road cars :) take a near-320mph Mitsubishi 3000GT as example! I think there's a Zonda in there somewhere... Yes, 1989therat's C12S 7.3 did 306.08 a couple of months ago. Reckon you can beat that?

By the way, which model Zonda are you using?

DE

*sigh* somehow I'm unable to get past 300mph with almost any car. I think I shall continue as potential 300mph car seeker, who sniffs around for possible models that could do it. 6.2mile 300ZX TT'98 is one for sure. RUF's can not do it, neither can saleen. they lack top end power/torque. frustrating.. :ouch:

the ruf rgt can reach 300.1 ive done it if i can find my setup paper i can post it for you so you can break thru with a new record oh and btw do es anyone know the fasters car in gt3 that is in gt4 ? was it the escudo ???

Slick Rick
do you guys think its possible to go 390mph in a Toyota 88c-v??
Ive got proof here without the wheely trick either!!
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=2010415#post2010415

EDIT: Soz, it could be in kph but it looks soo fast i have no idea

It is kph for sure. Watch the speedometer contra cornering and you´ll see that if that is mph, it´s impossibly fast! Good example is the last corner before the long straight (Schwalbenschwanz onto Döttinger Höhe) where he is close to 300 mph/kph. Mph would break the laws of physics more than the wheelies does!

The Land Speed Record Holder is back!!!!

New record is 379.34mph In A Toyota GT-One!!! :sly: :scared:

Although, I wish I had a Max Drive or something to prove it to you all.
I have it saved on my memory card though.

Oh well, Good luck to ya'll anyway! 👍

By The Way Slick Rick that speed was clearly in kmph, sorry to disappoint you.

Why post it if you´re not going to prove it? You will indeed get properly flamed for such a statement without proof. Don´t get me wrong here, If you´ve done this speed I´ll be the first to congratulate, but you do have to post some kind of proof. Even settings would be of help, although I don´t think you can have the LSR from settings only.

A video recorded off the tvscreen has been seen as proof earlier, so maybe that will do this time around too.
