What the hell is a TIFF exploit? TIFF is an uncompressed image file format.

What are the other hacks called? JPEG and BMP? ;)

I don't really see the point anyway. I mean, Sony outright supports a Linux install, implying that you can pretty much run whatever you want on it. What does this acutally gain anyone?

Well, you don't have to dork with installing Linux and trying to find compatible emulators (and running them, which seems like a total chore). Not to mention, I would think it would give emulators access to the RSX, which would allow for more graphics intensive games to be run (like N64).

An atempt at piracy, thats all. If PSP can run n64 at playable speeds then i'm sure the cell can handle even emulating the psp. not much to gain other than piracy. But not many people will have a BD burner to even use them.
