It's times like these that I realize I take California weather for granted.
I <3 you Cali!

We have two seasons, the Wet and the Dry, now it's the Wet, until about April, the monsoon is here and buckets of rain, often daily, but everything is green for the next 5/6 months when we will have practically no rain at all for the following 6 months.

Unfortunately it is also the cyclone season and our first ones are now forming.

Darwin is the lightning capital of the world and causes much heartache due to killing electrical appliances. I am currently on my 3rd PS3 and 4th pc modem.

Last week a storm caught me by surprise and damaged my modem, pc and phone, but all still work, albeit not with the same vigour or reliability.

But we have a pretty constant low 30 degree Celsius temp for most of the year which makes it all worthwhile.

Why you dont use UPS ?
It helps against lightning.

The Darwin Awards

The Darwin awards are based on Charles Darwin's theory of evolution & the awards go to people who die through stupidity and therefore severing the bloodline/Gene Pool.

Nothing to do with Darwin Australia......

I am aware of these awards and as Sheens says, they have nothing to do with Darwin NT.

Except however that Darwin, NT Australia, was named after Charles Darwin.

And thanks Denied for your link for UPS which I had a look at.

However as far as I know there is no device which can protect appliances against lightning strike, which is why I pull out the cords. But if you know of a device which I could use with a switch, rather than having to pull out cords, I would like to hear about it.

Just running a few in the Woodone... still playing with the ratio of ballast/power/aero.

My Woodone has had an oil change, so I'm having to run a bit more limiter than I'd like, but chipped a tenth off so far. I don't think there's really a lot between them in lap times, but running more ballast on the Woodone allows more weight on the rear and so you can get a slightly better balance and make it rotate faster... which in turn makes it a bit more difficult to drive!

Suspension is as per the Yellow Hat tune I posted yesterday.

Woodone Tom's Supra '03

0/0/0 car with oil change

Ballast 112 @ position 40
Aero 33 47
Power limiter 97.6

Makes 669bhp at 1,212kg for 600ppts

Parts
Engine stg 3, high RPM turbo

Settings
Ride -15 -10
Spring 18.5 13.8
Extn 8 6
Comp 7 5
ARB 4 5
Camber 2.0 1.0
Toe +0.10 +0.10
LSD 9 10 10
Brakes 5 7

Gears (set final to 5.000, set max speed to minimum, set individual gears and final)
1st 3.087
2nd 2.264
3rd 1.904
4th 1.590
5th 1.351
6th 1.149
Final 3.354

Subsequently managed a 1'45.019 for 12th in borrowed car, but got a 1'45.220 with that tune.

It rotates a lot better than the Yellow Hat, but it's a bit harder to drive as it has more rearward weight balance (more ballast) and more power. If you're struggling to control the rear under braking/turn in, try moving the ballast forward in increments of 5 until you find something you like.

Alternatively, try running less power and more wing - I know you'll all think 'No, I want as much power as possible' (as in you can never have enough POWER ), but less power and more wing will make the car a bit easier to drive - the car I got the 45.0 in only has 645bhp (and the car top spot on the leader boards only has 634bhp!).

Good luck 👍

Nice laptime Chris 👍 I have been messing around with the woodone but struggling to find any real decent set up as yet (not too good with tuning :nervous:) and losing lots after T3 on my better laps :ouch: will give your set up a few laps later and hopefully i can find some consistency over a whole lap... cheers mate!

Thanks. how about the toe?

Forgot to mention... I'm also using active steering strong.

Hola Ron 👍

I noticed you'd appeared in the top 20... good luck mate :)

Cheers Chris, I had been running @611hp and 1100kg not realising I could bulk some more power with weight :p anyway I tried the car at 669hp but never liked the ass slippin so much so ran a few at 623hp and 1165kg and took .3 off within a few laps... down to 1'45.1 👍

Will get stuck into a good session tonight and see if i can rob someone of a top 10 place :sly: Thanks again

I see you and Roombooter at 17th and 18th respectively 👍

Good to see you've both improved... don't go too much faster now ;)

:)

I went from 18 to 16. But i doubt if i can stay on top of Ron. But that's ok with me, you guys are both D1G. I remember a WRS at Suzuka with the GT500 Calsonic (in arcade mode, no tuning) where Ron and i competed in and i stayed within .4xx of Ron and took 3rd overall. I was happy with that one and happy with this one althou a 44 is possible for me. But putting al my best sectors in one lap is not happing very often to me.

If i stay in the top 30 with this one, i'm happy. And 31 is top to 30 for me, cos Amo has run on 2 accounts

Running Stotty's Tune...

Its a dream to drive, Only just pipped my previous time but a much better setup.
THANKS STOTTY!! (i did'nt have your toe angles at the time)

1:46.113 so far.

plus trying to get the Woodone Supra...

Err, yes :D

Hey mate great tune I've got a 46.5xx so far but I have been 6 tenths up on it, my bhp is only 640 I'm not sure why this is I did the d
Set up just like yours ( I think ) can you tell me how to get the woodone supra I only have a few cars I've been off the game for a couple years and lost all my data, thanks

Managed a 1.45.8, currently sitting at #69. If I could put together my best 3 sector times, theoretically I could hit a 1.45.5.

Power will likely be different if you're car has/hasn't had an oil change or it's run in/not run in.

You need to wait for it to appear in the used car lot... or borrow one from a friend 👍

Thanks mate I will check the car again and keep a look out for the supra, ps I don't have any friends I lost all my data on my old ps3 lol

I'd say send me a friends request and I'll put my Woodone on share, but unfortunately I'm away on business until Thursday night so that would be no use.

I'm sure someone on here who has the car would offer to accept a friends request and put theirs on share for you.

Alternateively, the Premium Yellow Hat Supra is not quite as fast, but at least you can just buy that (assuming you have the credits). It's still capable of top 20 times though... I ran a 45.3 in mine before switching to the Woodone.

Thanks mate you have been a big help I'm loving this GTPlanet it's great!!! And about me getting a top 20 time I don't think I have the speed in me like I used to, but I'm gonna try lol

If you want to try the Woodone Supra I can put mine on share for you later tonight. Personally I found the Yellowhat a bit quicker but others who are better drivers than me seem to do better in the Supra. I'm StirlingMoose on PSN.
