Medium slicks, usually. They'll last a 5-lap race without pitting. For longer races I go super slick.

I never go anything softer than medium-slick, because I don't want to get used to it.

I go with the Duke on this one. Super Slicks for nearly all purposes with a dip to the softer Medium Slicks in the Sprint races. I too stay away from anything softer than that as I don't want to become used to levels of grip I usually wont have at PRO level.

I also use super-slick tires for my races in Pro mode, and softer ones for shortest races. I have only one car equipped with super-soft and that is my miata I started the game with. After doing all the upgrades, I decided to go for this instead of buying a new car (had to race several times). I realised it was a mistake when I started races that had tire wear. But I was not even 10% in the game when I did that.....Now that I am more expenrienced, I stick with slicks....(and it's cheaper :p )

Long races=slicks
Short races=mediums
Comps= super softs if allowed.

I run medium on most races. Now that I am getting to the point in the game where I am going to be running longer races I plan on using the super slick tirees for their longer wear.

Much sense being spoken all round! One of the reason's I actually like to run T2's is that you have to put more effort into getting your cars suspension balance ironed out perfectly and drive with more 'realistic' restraint. I've even been known to tune cars up using Simulation tyres just to really highlight where the suspension set-ups weaknesses are!

Now there's a thought.
I truly haven't tried Simulation tires due to them being so hard to drive on in GT2.
I guess I just learned something I can use later to make my cars handle better.
Notice to my passengers: Now you know what the bar over the door is for. Buckle up and hold on. :D

Also note:

I decided to leave out Dirt due to the fact that you can only use those tires on limited cars, and only on rally tracks.

Super softs, all the time. On my hybrids, I use 8.5s, they have a little more grip then the normal 8s, but you can't buy 8.5s...

Simulation tyres are still fairly bad mojo in GT3 - I wouldn't ever recommend racing on them (except for the sheer challenge of it all!). But what they are excellent for is tuning a given car up that much more perfectly, as you have no option but get your suspension, transmission and gear box honed to no-slop perfection.

They can also aid you in sharpening your driving skills by forcing a zero tolerance for hard braking, harsh acceleration or off-line corner appraoches!

And after using them, T2's are a beautiful, grippy dream by comparison!

yes they do. and it's a matter of preferance really. The harder the tire compund (think rubber), the lower the overall grip level will be, but it will last longer. The softer the compund, the more grip it will have, but in turn it will also heat up much quicker and therfore burn up faster too.

Hard = Slow to warm up, less grip, long life
Med = nice inbetween the 2
Soft = Quick to warm up, and very short life

it's all about pit strategy. If you don't mind piting often, and you can drive good, then soft tires is a nice optoin. It will give you a nice lead from the rest of the pack (escept others using soft) just for the fact that you will have quicker acceleration and a higher top speed (very tiny difference there though). But on the downside, it also means alot of pits. If you go with hard tires, you will pit much less, but you will also have a slower car. So you will probably be in the middle/back of the pack for a few laps untill your tires warm up and/or the twits with soft tires have to pit. And don't be suprised if after they pit that they pass you up :D
but in the end, if it is a med to long race, the med to hard compunds are the best way to go. Unless you drive real fast, you will end up losing more time pitting then you will being slower. i hope that made sense 😈

I run medium tires, but I have not run any of the longer races like endurance races and the Formula GT Championship either. I plan on changing tires for those because I know that mediums just wouldnt last.

I did a comp at Seattle in a Cobra SVT. My first laps were run at 1'39'xxx. I got a wild hair and bought the softs. (T7's) and cut 3 seconds off my lap times in the first lap.
Ultimately, I cut over 6 seconds off my lap times.
I keep three grades of tires for the cars I drive often. Slicks, Mediums, and Super-softs. Covers all my needs.

They're T1, 2, & 3, if you mean buying. If you mean poll, I'm sorry, I messed up, and I've already asked a mod to change it to a Multi-option poll.
