yeah there are some major improvements that could be made with shifting and car reaction in low rpm.. gt3 feels like it was only meant to be played in one of those race cars.. handling and power gets screwy with low hp cars.. also i found there to be an unrealistic amount of understeer in some situations.. so it can be improved upon but it will probably feel very similar..

you are def right abut the wierd understeer, I was drifting about yesterday, and went to throw the car into a sharp corner, so Opted to add a bit more feint motion than I usually do, and the car just never fiented back, and I know for a fact that it wasnt user error, it was the wierdest thing ever, lol. But then, I've actually left the boundaries of the game in GT3 before, meh, lol. I cant wait for GT4 :) not to mention that steering wheel, thats gonna make drifting ALOT more fun.

I find there is an unrealistic amount of oversteer, more like not enough understeer. Usualy in RL if you slam on the brakes and try to turn you can't because all of the tires friction is being used to slow the car down if you try to turn at that point the front wheels will lock up and the car will go straight. Also if you haven’t noticed if you are going at 200 MPH in a real car you can't turn your steering wheel all the way to end, well you can but it won't help in any way. You can't even do this at 50MPH cus the front wheels won’t be able to turn the car. But in GT3 you can move that stick, or steering wheel all the way to the end no matter what. The computer calculates the maximum steering angle that is possible for that particular car at that speed. Some times you can turn a little more though and get a litte smoke off the inside front tire.

These things make the game a lot easier and probably make the game a little more fun but it's not realistic. Also the burn outs seem to be a little wierd, you can burn through a lot of gears with out too much HP.

The physics for powering out of a corner seem pretty accurate though. I have never raced but driving in snow physically simulates racing since you are most probably driving near or at the tires maximum friction. It's just really slow so it's very easy to correct mistakes. It’s kind of like racing in slow motion asl ong as you don’t drift like ice racers, cus things get a little more complicated then.

Understeer is not fun but it happens a lot more in RL then in GT3.

If you get the Demo of Live for speed it seems the have slightly better physics but at first it's so hard to drive it's no fun at all. And the grafics are not as good. But it is online so that's a plus. I think you can get it at www.liveforspeed.com

If you pay attention to your front wheels you'll see that that they don't turn all the way at higher speeds. If you look at your car from the front at a stop with your wheels turned all the way and accelerate hard, you'll see them straighten out a bit.

Yes, that was my point. In RL that doesn't happen in GT3 it does.

Anyone ever notice that by utilizing the brakes and gas at the same time while a bit sideways prior to entering a turn, you can burn off speed in less amount of space than if you just brake... Never understood why this works, but a few other people have experienced the same thing. Oh and turbo lag could actually be accounted for...
