I have gone through 6 championships in GT career mode so far. This game is great for any gran turismo player because its got evrything gran turismo doesn't have and it is a completely different experience. The variety is mind boggling. I like the damage because you have to be careful. I love the upgrade system with the slots. Also, it has all the famous/real tracks that gt doesn't have.

To the guy saying its easy, yes it is but only on normal...try hard

Quick question for those who have messed with the custom difficulty: What percentage does normal correspond to? Id like to make it a bit harder than normal.

Thanx

ps:SPA is a PHENOMENAL track

I think normal is 70% in the custom difficulty scale.

I have seen people say 70% is hard...who knows. I stick with 95% and its a good enough challenge without being too hard.

The difficulty level also depends on the racing discipline, not just on the AI.

In some races I'll win by a big margin, but some others (Notably the Dodge challenge) I always end up in last place.

I am playing hard mode in world tour with pro sim handling
some race are average in difficulty
but some seem to be impossible even with 20+ times restart
but the racing atmophere in the game is awesome
great fun for me so far

I played 2 player with a friend today for about 4 hours. We just did race after race at Bathurst with the V8's and it's great fun. My friend wasn't great at it to start with so I not only had to contend with the AI being difficult but there was always the worry of being rear ended by a rogue car. Once he got the hang of it we had some great races and some great replay moments. I haven't tried the other modes, I'm having too much fun with the V8's still.

I unlocked a Lotus 49 series the other day and spent around an 2 hours trying to drive it, just at Snetterton. With plenty of power, no downforce and skinny treaded tyres it was such a handful on the hardest level, eventully getting to the stage where i could win. Beating the A.I. wasn't the problem, not spinning the thing was! - It was great fun though. I tried it on the next track, Donnigton, and was nowhere!

I can see that the thing that will keep me coming back to the game again and again is the messing about element rather than the actual career ladder.

I played up to tier 8 or 9 last night and the game is no longer as easy as it used to be. I think one of the events I did was a voltswagon buggy race and a British race. On some of the races last night I actually had very very close battles with the 1st place position. The further you get in this game the better and more challenging it becomes. 👍
I have a question. In some of the events it shows that I can pick from 2-3-or-4 cars but I am only able to get the one that is on the left side. Anyone know how to get the other cars?

The cars it shows are just the cars that can compete in that event, once you've won the even in WT mode you can race that event or single races from that event and you can choose any of thoes cars. Alternatively you can work up to the event in question in the pro career mode, and the pro career mode let's you choose what car you want to use. The world tour mode is you working as a driver for a team, the team chooses the cars, you don't so you have no say. The Pro Career mode on the other hand let's you set up the events a lot more, it's the meat of the game, the championships are longer and the races can be longer too if you want them to be, it's the best bit of the game by far imo.

Thanks for the info. I havent tried the Pro-Career mode yet. Glad to hear that the Pro Career mode is so involved. It will be like playing another game after I play the world tour. Its going to take a while to beat Toca 3. :)
The way the world tour is set up is just like R-Racing Evolution where you drive for a team. THat was a good game with at least 80 hours of game play. The story mode was short but the rest of the game was very long. You could also take really realy nice screen shots of the cars in R-Racing EVo. Some members didnt like R-Racing evo but I thought it was a great game for its time. Toca 3 is way better though.

does anybody know if the xbox version will work on the 360 ???
Thats a great question and hopefully someone has an answer. Im sure you would really like this game. I have a feeling it will take a long time to beat now that I found out about the world tour AND the career mode.

I have reached the British GT Cup class in Pro Career:D Had a quick practice on Donington in the NOble, great fun:p Kept being lapped by the NGT cars though...

Looking forward to the NGT class but cup class first eh:p

I agree with CB ... RRE is a great game
spent quite some time to unlock every single cars in the game
great fun ...

back to TOCA3
hope I can race at British GT Cup class soon
it sounds like fun 👍

So far the British GT cup class is brill..it requires considerably more skill thanthe Jags and MGs, gotta be dam careful on the throttle. So much fun though, however, the NGT cars can get in the way in practice and quali.

Great game... Terrible physics... It was supposed to be more of a simulation game, but the physics were more on the arcade side... In fact, they were not even good, as far as arcade physics go... Watching the replays was never terribly enjoyable, because you could see the horrible physics in action... Too bad, because I remember how much I was looking forward to the game...

I played through the game, sold it, and I don't regret it in the least... At least no more than I regret selling Auto Modelista...

I'm on my way to EB Games to pick up my copy of Toca 3... Looking forward to it... The demo was fun, so this time I know the physics will be good...

;)

For a second I thought the first part of your post was about RD3 . You should enjoy it, a lot. Especially if you enjoyed the demo, I still haven't tried lawnmower racing, well I haven't tried a lot yet but I'm only 20% through.

Nope TRD3 will not work with a 360, know a couple of guys on another forum with 360s who bought TRD3 and its a no go.

Sorry about that.

Regards

Scaff

BTW - In regard to the Pro-sim settings being lost when you save, TRD2 (on the PC) did the same. Its not a bug in TRD2 as both the manual and the game screen stated that you would need to set Pro-sim each time you loaded the game. It sounds like TRD3 is the same (dunno if its in the PS2 manual as I have not bothered to read the manual), in which case its a bizzare 'feature' rather than a bug.

From what I understand, everyone is waiting on Microsoft to finish the XBox emulator for the 360.
It is not up to Codemasters to get this to work, so be patient.

Cheers,

MasterGT

The Codemasters forums are down, so I need to ask this here. I am also in the middle of a series, so I am not about to test this right now.

Are custom car set-ups available on-line and, if so, how are they used? (People are complaining that they can't figure this out, so good instructions will help.)

Cheers,

MasterGT

Whats an Emulator? I assume its something extra we would have to purchase if we had a 360?

An emulator in this instance would be something to make the 360 think its an xbox..

You can get emulators on pc for N64, different sega consoles etc.

It's software thats programmed to make a certain chipset emulate another, for example you can get playstation emulators for the PC that allows your PC to play playstation games. The X-Box emulator for the XB360 should be a free download and probably offered on magazine cover disks.

Ashley beat me to it, damn that's a first. ;).

Thanks for the quick reply. Free would be acceptable. :)
