That could be the reason why. Actually some rooms are great and some are horrible so it ain't all that bad. I'm just teed off that my headset doesn't work with this game.....I've got no more money for a logitech one damnit. Although if you don't have a headset you can still hear the other players talking when you direct the voice output to your tv speakers. And for thsoe who don't know, Toca Race Driver 2006 is coming out on the PSP!!! All 21 cars on the track at the same time, and from the pictures the graffics are brilliant! I might just get this instead of GT Mobile!

Oh ya, during the championships am I allowed to leave the series after doing 3 races and do soemthing else and comeback to finish it? Or do I have to finish the championship before I can do anything else?

when you turn your ps2 off during a championship and turn it back on you can do other series and finish the other later, progress is saved

Sweet, thanks.

Anyone doing the Honda S2000 championship? It says the cars have 470hp, they feel completely stock.

Anyone tried some of the Time Trials? I've tried a couple ones, and I don't see how anyone can beat some of those times. I've tried the Bonus 1960's Grand Prix driving the Louts, and the Group B driving the Audi. The best lap times for now seem totally unrealstic to achive, atleast with Sim-handling??

They're beatable in pro sim, you just need to be flawless in some of the races.

Even if I drove flawless I don't see where I can find the time, that's my point. For instance the Group B rally, I'm about 15 seconds off with a pretty decent drive on the first stage. That's alot on such a short stage. Anyone managed to beat any of the Time Trials??

Anyways, in general I find the Rally stages hard to beat in World Tour :(

Maybe I'm jumping to conclusion, but at the moment I don't see how anyone can beat those times, atleast not on Pro-Sim.

Its not just you. Some of the events are brutal hard. I tried a few events on hard and its no joke. Even the easy events on hard are very challenging. Dont beat yourself up over it. Set it a little easier if necessary. Its better to set it easier to pass the event than to get frustrated and hate the game. :)
Its not like GT4 where you can just bounce off of the AI either. You start hitting them and they will hit you back or even run you off the road. I learned to drive as clean as possible for the best results.
World tour is going to get quite difficult. I am only around 23% and its already getting harder.

You can say that again, I'm at 43% on World Tour and its as tough as hell.

Good fun all the same.

Well it's good to see I'm not the only one who is struggling :) I think I'm at 97% on the World Tour. Seems to be 2 long series left to finish the World Tour 100%.

On the Time Trials in Simulation which I am talking about you can't adjust difficulty, since there is a given Lap Record to beat?? I can accept being up to 5 seconds off the pace with a fairly decent drive, but finding almost 10 seconds on a track with no big obvious mistakes, that's a massive amount of time!! Like I said before it's not the first time I'm way off pace :) but I just don't see any way of beating the times I've been giving a go.

If anyone else wanna have a go, the 2 Time Trials I tried was the first stage in Group B, and the first track in 1960 Grand Prix Bonus series.

Let me know how you guys do.

Have you tried setting the cars up? you need to change your cars settings to make the car perform at it's best on any tracks.

You do need to have it on sim on quite a few of the races for time trial since you reach top speed a LOT quicker on it.

To the guy who said online was laggy - I only go in rooms below 150 ping and 9/10 times the rooms are lag free, apart from the occasional 1 car. The experience is 10X better than racing single player (I'm only 35% done in single player because online is so good), but you do have to try and find a good clean driving room.

I usually race in UKOG rooms (Pro sim and all flags on all the time) and we are always clean drivers (at least we try to be :D) - username now is UKOG~ChrisCFC.

I went online once when I first got the game and there were only 6 rooms. Mabey now there are more but I was a little disappointed with the lack of people. Also the room I went into was lagging and they were using F1 cars in the rain so it wasnt much fun. Im sure if I find a good room it will be better. By now I would think more people have the game too.

There are generally 20-30 rooms open, with about 10-15 of them pro-sim during the late afternoon-evening in British time, not sure how many are open in prime American time though

Thats great news. Mabey if I get a chance tonight I will check online again.

When I do a free race, is there any way to change the weather of the race? I love racing in a storm. I went online a few times today and yep, most of the rooms are lag free except for the occasional few, but this headset issue is bugging the hell outta me and is keeping me from enjoying online as much as it should.

I finally had a chance to race online again this weekend. It was a lot better experience than last time. I just made sure to find a room that had the highest connection. I was in there at least 2 hours. Tons of fun. 👍
The only bad part was that there were only about 10 rooms total. Kind of disappointing for a late friday night. (xbox version)

blayzzz
Im loving this game but damn the Australian V8 races are just plain frustrating, the AI just seems like it switches to dumbass mode.
What tier[sp] is that in? I just opened tier 10 and I think tier 11. I am learning to deal with the fact that I dont absolutely need to get 1st place to progress thru the game. Sometimes you only need 4th.

It is great, race it in Pro Career mode, World tour mode isn't the main part of the game, all the champioships and races are easier and cut down. Pro Career is the meat of the game.

World Tour is where you unlocked them. I gotta say I had some problems with the V8's, but I love the aussie tracks they run on.

I think I played on one of the Aussie tracks the last time I had the game in. I liked the elevation changes on that track. If I remember correctly there is a corner that turns sharp left then sharp right. Just before you hit the first left corner there is basically a jump there. If you dont slow down enough you will come right off the road and wont be able to make the turn to the right. That track was one of my favorites so far. Very challenging. 👍
I dont remember the name of it.

No, you unlock them in Pro Career by reaching them in pro career, beating a series in World tour doesn't unlock them in pro career, that just unlocks them in free race mode, which Pro career does as well.

Damnit! Guess I better start pro career tonight then! :grumpy:

Whoa you havent even started pro-career yet!!! Thats where all the really fun stuff is at. :) And you can set the Ai difficulty for every single race. Havent you been reading any of these replies??? Like Live4speed said. Pro-Career is the meat of the game. 👍
