In a full game its hard NOT to hit people.....
.
I am curious if I am the only one or if others have experienced this weird quirk as well... After playing TOCA3 for a while my DFP will loose all resistance againstthe wheel. IOW the motors in the wheel will turn off and steering becomes like wet noodlish and sloppy, after I start a race. There will be no force against the wheel and every onec in a while it will simply keep doing this. It will be just in he racing mode not the hold modes in between the races, you can feel some force of the stator against the coils(magnetic force) ut once you start the race...poof.. its gone its like all currewnt to the motor is gone and ther is no longer any power at all going to it.
Anyone else???
Just picked this up yesterday (FINALLY FOUND A USED COPY AT EBGAMES!!) after literally years of looking for it, and I'm absolutely loving it so far. One question, though - I've only raced at very short distances so far in order to unlock all the championships I'm particularly interested in, but do AI cars DNF as well? I know they get black flags like you (the human player) do, but do the AI/COM drivers DNF as well? Thanks for the answer.
Yup, I use it all the time(and on other racing games too), it works even better with manual gears:tup:Use the right analog stick for accelerating/braking. It gives you much more accurate control.
I have them all, infact it was the TOCA ps1 series that got me interested in racing games and 'trained' me at them.Hey you guys do you remember the very old school games on psone named TOCA TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP, TOCA 2 TOURING CARS and TOCA WORLD TOURING CARS.
Ive just finished an epic 2hrs racing against Speedster502, its been ages since ive had so much fun on a racing game, bumper to bumper redlining action in Clio's, side by side high speed driving in DTM and owning in World NGT. Man ive missed it...

Same here! 👍 The developers must think we have no real friends!I prefer a game to have splitscreen than online any day...
I'm having trouble getting off the line (grid) at the start of the race in any of the DTM cars. I've tried everything I can think off - launching the car at every possible RPM, staying in neutral and quickly shifting down to first as I accelerate, launching in 2nd gear, not touching the accelerator until I see the green, etc. I always lose 4 or 5 positions on the start, and as I race long races it's not that big of a deal but at the same point in time a start from pole is a rarity for me and I'm sick of getting punted off at the first corner or dropping back to 6th and having to play catch-up.
Anyone have any tips? Nothing seems to work (in DTM cars, at least).
I would definately agree that it was the most fun I've had on a racing game since...well since the last time I played TOCA3 against someone. Seriously, even on PS3 I am yet to find a game which is as intense as TOCA3, provides the same range of racing classes and more importantly has split screen (rules most games out for a start). Not even GT5 can live up to this game's epic fun factor on split screen.
It raises a point though, why do modern games, specifically racing games, have split screen less and less often? Do game manufactures seem to think that we don't want to be sociable and show our friends what games are like these days? Taking it in turns is boring unless it's a rallying game! The only racing game I currently own for PS3 which is split screen is GT5P and it's not what I'd call intense, or fun for that matter. So why do manufactures keep not including splitscreen? It's been a important element for games for many years and now that seems to be being pushed out by online elements. I prefer a game to have splitscreen than online any day...
Well, I just picked up a second hand PS2 today and went on a sim splurgeOrdered Toca 3, GT4, Enthusia and Richard Burns Rally. I have never played any of these games before, have I done well?
Yes, I think you did. From what I remember those last two games are much more demanding tho (no I didn't say more realistic..), I hope you enjoy it. 👍
However I was pretty disappointed with ToCa3 since it never reached the awesomeness of ToCa 1 & 2 IMO.
I wish they would redo those in HD.![]()
