If you weren't in a Mazda or Infiniti at Cape, a straight wasn't fun full stop no matter the car.

Jesus your infuriating why the hell can't you get things right before you launch these things. Feel kinda cheated that me and Nel telling you wasn't enough.:grumpy:

I would and have never expected anyone to turn up and do the BST testing for me Furi I just try and get it right before I launch it.:sly:
 
Furi, given the fact we're using different BHP values and to avoid any abuse/suspicions, either re-check specs after each race, or don't allow us drivers to go to settings after spec checking for Q...

I had already thought about it during Cape races, but forgot to post my concerns until I read the last few posts...

No ya not but you've had all these people doing these tests and so it now seems you've been fed either false data or out right selfish lies which has now backfired a little. I just wish to god you would spend a little extra time either doing your own testing or using 1 or 2 people you can fully trust seems to many cooks can spoil the Toca. :)

Was speaking to Spurgy earlier btw, and decided on GT6 that I will be doing all spec testing personally myself, as having more people seems to complicate manners (though it is appreciated).

Why doesn't Paulmac help spec test anymore? And it's probably best you finalise the specs before you let people choose their car, changing things after just makes it messy. :)

Spurgy by the way is testing cars for Grand Valley, to check levels there. It is bizarre considering the BMW was very much on the pace there after its upgrade.
 
I had a super-draft lap there which put me first, Neljack was a good few tenths behind, that was the Bimmers natural pace, I just wanted some bragging rights. Also worth noting that some cars have been boosted since

You give me too much credit :p. I merely pointed you in the right direction, you did the rest ;).

Edit: Furi no offence but doing the spec testing yourself before hasn't worked too well. Also in PURE and pretty much all other series have 3 or 4 respected fast guys doing the testing of the cars. From which we gather their times from every track etc and compare them to see if changes need to be made, this is how we did things for JGTS GATE etc 👍.

I did suggest to Furi that some guys from WRS might be able to help him with spec testing, depends how generous they are feeling, I heard they did an awesome job specing the GT3 cars :)

Its late for that now Spurgy, but it is something worth considering for future events for sure. 👍

Best thing to do is do all the initial testing yourself to draw up the preliminary specs. Then pass those specs to 2/3 trusted racers from the series and give them each a specific track to test- preferably of different styles, for example Cape Ring for one driver, Monza for another and Spa for another etc. 👍

That way you can see where each car is strong (or too strong) and you get a balanced idea of where each car is.

Maybe 3 or 4 FRL regulars/champions should test all of the cars and specs before the season and privately PM furi the information he needs to make them even before a season :)

I think that is sound advice for seasons to come. Sort of like...

1. Make a beta-version of specs that you distribute in private to selected drivers.
2. After you get test-results for all cars back, adapt accordingly.
3. Only then, make specs public and give the other people who sign up enough time to test and choose their car, so the test-drivers don't have an unfair advantage.

This is not meant as a criticism of the current specs. I must say that I have the feeling the cars are somewhat closer this season than they have been in the past. Spurgy's times for Monza seem to reflect that.
 
Although what I felt from the 'heat race' at Cape all the cars seemed well spec'd and racing each other well (except Infiniti that has already been changed) all these ideas sound very good and should ensure that all the cars are even before the get go and should (in theory) stop people from bitching after race 1 as they will know all specs are final and will not be changed 👍 so if they feel that there is a car that is off the pace then it will be their pace in that car (not the car off pace) and their own fault if they chose to use it :)

Just my thoughts :)
 
I like the test drivers idea. Certainly things will be different on GT6. Don't expect TOCA10 to be rolled out without two weeks of GT6 release :lol:
