The way I see it, the "next gen" thing is only about the graphics.... resolution, refresh rate, anti-aliasing, light sourcing, etc...
This makes the product look fantastic - but has little or nothing to do with the fidelity of the simulation.
But, you don't need next gen graphics to model whether a wheel is rotating or locked. Sims from 15 or even 20 years ago had the maths sorted to model complex simulation scenarios.
For KY to suggest that skidmarks, or any other "trivial" issue can't be modelled within the time, budget or technological constraints, is, frankly, laughable.
