Yeah normaly im a positive guy but searching all day for news about GT5 makes me a pessimist... and the to read that they dont think about GT5 at the moment... pff... focus on GT5P... and what we get since release? (in europe) 3 new cars and some physics... but sorry guys that im so pessimistic at this moment, got to focus on other things than on Sony (Tekken 6 will come end 2009 have shocked me today too and there is no other game that will come soon that interests me)

but good luck to all to the keep optimistic :)

You know who i hate most, the imbeciles in the gaming 'press.' In any interview that KY does, the first question should be, "Why weren't there private lobbies from day one, and what has taken so long to bring them?" In-ex-fu-ck-ing-cusable.

+1

I've never seen a gaming journalist who knows what he/she talks about.. 👎

GTPlanet should try to get an interview with mr Kazunori. It's the largest Gran Turismo community on the web for god's sake! Or maybe you guys have tried already?

I have a scary feeling that the GT series is going to an end. KY doesn't seem focused, like he don't know what he want with the game. Especially now according to the interview the other day:

Its a very good point. But, when you look at it at a business point of view ; which PD is... a business. He cant reveal too much. For all we know this growing anticipation in the boards and in anyone else that cares about GT, could be a marketing plan. Building anticipation for the final product. Who knows, GT5 Proper might already be done. I do remember in "Beyond The Apex" that adding of damage to prologue was a big debate at PD for last years Tokyo Auto Show.

Since GTPlanet now has a LIVE chat room. How about inviting one member from PD and have top, best, and non hating members be on this chat and ask good questions? I remeber PlayStation Underground did something similar.. but it was total waste of time and simplistic questions/answers.

Sure... Great thinking for a guy that has no brain.. hehe Do you know from PD? maybe I should ask my G/F if she can go to PD place.. I think she is only like a 15 min driver to PD.. from her work place.. hehe

Very good idea I would love to ask some decent questions and the same ones he gets asked every day... If your reading this PD try this out!

hey we can come up with better questions.. and we would like to get better detail in anwsers..
Sure other people ask.. is damage will be in game.. then PD says yes sometimes this fall in just one or two simple sentences..

what about.. How damage system will work. Or if you still not started on damage, how would you like for it to work in GT5. For that question I would love to see quite long answer.. not just a sentence..

Or how about question on how they are making race tracks for GT5, do they use laser scan or not.. etc..

What about Socom?

Face it guys..Spec III WAS the big fall update.
PD are developing this series into the biggest epic fail in gaming history.

Brought a PSP for GT Mobile...we all know how that turned out!!!! :ouch:

I dreamed about the TGS-update last night. It involved several cars, only F355 I can recall and a new track. Who wanna hope that i'm right? :)

I still believe, that SpecIII updates will continue. There is mentioned that: '...SpecIII updating has begun.'

It's only vice to give it in few parts, cause that downloading has been littlebit problematic for so many. One big update-package would drive many of us grazy.

I am a bit disapointed my self.

Anyway for those looking for a good game to spend some time with until PD get their things together. You guys should really give Ferrari challenge a go. It it not GT 5. But it is really good and it has private races

Yes this is a great idea, although there might be some controversy regarding who is invited into the Chat. Therefore I doubt whether PD would agree 100% on this idea. So they will probably just wait to tell news at TGS, asking the questions here so that they may be brought to the attention of someone at PD helps them know what is important to us and what they should let us know at games shows and other events where they can release information etc. I would say that some of the news at TGS will be in regards to private rooms, as a great deal of GTP member's are wanting some info regarding the implementation of Private race rooms into Prologue.👍
Peace,
Rusty*

I have the dutch version of GT5:P, and when I read that news post the translation isn't "SpecIII updating has begun" but more like is being updated. I wouldn't rely too much on the translations of the newsposts.

On the other hand it seems like they rushed the update to get it released before the Paris motor show, so there may be some updates coming.

As others i expected also more of this spec III update and was also a bit disappointed that they didn't add more but on the other hand they are still working on it ;)

I was reading this topic this morning and only saw people complain about damage not being added but wasn't there something in the previous version of GT that they couldn't add damage (because of contact/deal) to cars because of the car brands didn't want there cars to be demolished as in demolition derby? (they would have added if they where allowed)

Also i see nobody talk about Tourist Trophy that was released for PS2. Something is saying me that PD would add it in GT5, i have read it somewhere a few months back when TT was released.

For the rest i only can see to stay positive on future updates instead of bashing PD for not doing this or that ;)

I dont know where to start.... Your an epic fail. You dont a single thing at all do you?

Wow.... 👎
Close this thread please? It's completely useless, everyone writing what he thinks and claims it as fact...

The BIG fall update has ended and GT is on knifes edge to become another Duke Nukem or something ... Suzuka is THE most boring track, unless your Michael Schumacher! (Which you are not... )

Wow...

While the possibility remains that the TGS may bring up some new information regarding GT5 or GT5:P updates, then I'll leave this thread open...

But bear in mind that this thread will only remain open if people stick to talking about the topic in hand, and flaming/personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Well I'm sorry if i seemed rude if if i attacked or flaimed anyone but people just bashing GT all the time gets no attention from the Mods, Fair enough it's his personal opinion but if i was to make a haste ridiculas remark about something on here i would get the same thing said about me. I dont want to argue and never did but loads of people are making negative comments frequently lately about everything. If you think PD are a fail company or if Sony are fail as well just keep it your self & so would I, I apologise for any inconvience caused to anyone.

👍 for the apology... I understand your frustration, and I agree with the central point that, just because there is seemingly nothing coming out of the TGS with respect to GT5, it doesn't make Polyphony Digital or Gran Turismo an "epic fail" (to use the parlance of our times...) But there is no rule against having or expressing a negative opinion about a game, even Gran Turismo... however there is clear rules about personal attacks. That's where we have to draw the line.

With that said, I fully disgaree with Mr P510's opinion that "PD are developing this series into the biggest epic fail in gaming history." - infact, I think that's unmitigated and unsubstantiated garbage.

The problem is PD's "keep them guessing" approach to PR

Most companies at least give a vague idea of what's going on with a game that millions of people are waiting for with baited breath. Maybe an estimate year of release or some info about the feature set.

PD on the other hand categorically refuse to say anything.

This, quite understandably, annoys many of the fans. Imagine a rock band adopting the same model:

"We might be doing a tour at some point in the next couple of years, we'll see what happens. The album is coming along, I daresay it'll be released at some point. We might change the lineup but we don't know yet. As it is we're concentrating our efforts on adding a bonus song to the last album."

Back on topic, IGN has two videos posted on their site labelled 'TGS 2008, new level" - but it just shows a race on suzuka in an elise. No further comments on it, so it probably is about how the difficulty has changed on some of the event races.

I couldnt agree more with your post Mars, I think some people just forget how long the Playstation 3's Lifecycle is ment to last for. Eveyone these days demands a big selling franchise game such as Gran Turismo to come out every year. Heres an example MGS4 one of the best selling Playstation 3 games was delayed delayed and delayed but when it finally came out it didnt disappoint anyone who was a fan of the series. It was a big hit and it gave Hideo more time to put into the game. Therefor this is how i see Kaz's approach to making Gran Turismo 5. Time patience and effort. No one wants to see an unfinished game or a game missing anything it could have been. If we dont get any new footage what so ever from TGS, Who knows? There could be an official announcement on the GT5 Prologue News Page saying * THE FALL UPDATES ARRIVED * Then i wont see anyone saying that the company is one of the worst in history. it's all about time and patience.

True, but I just call it "frustration mixed with dissapointment".

At the moment thats exactly what it is...frustration,espesially being a big fan of the series for such a long time.
And I'm not the only one who feels this at the moment.

Is there another day of TGS to go? Hoping for that last ditch effort.

Perhaps the best attitude is to assume no sudden updates and no announcements at TGS. Then, when one comes along, we'll be pleasantly surprised. I can't see why they'd HAVE to announce / show anything at TGS.

Actually, watching them again: It is a race event and he's doing the first out of 6 laps, but there is a 'time left:' counter on the side of the screen. Surely the nr.1 of the race hasnt crossed the finishline yet.

Or would they build-in a timer for gameshows like this so journalists wont keep the gaming machines hogged?

Yeah, it is a time limited demo.

Nothing new shown, maybe it's the same build we have now (I dare to say it looks smoother, but it's hard to tell) and it is the same bad driver as always, he must attend to every gameshow on earth :dopey:
