I'll take another look into it. I remember ruling that it was rather based on the Wangan rather then modeled off of it.

Route 246 in GT5 traverses a semi-rectangular course beginning close to the Akasaka-Mitsuke crossing on Aoyama Dori (Aoyama Rd).

It then loops around the eastern parts of Shinjuku-ku (Shinjuku Ward) passing by the Jingu and the National Stadiums and finally wrapping around Moto-Akasaka 2-chome.

Yeah, it's not like PD are the only ones to model that highway, there were other games that had that highway as a track, but it's mostly old arcade street racing games. I think it's awesome when PD makes up race tracks on real everyday roads . Especially Rome circuit.

Technically it is a toll road as its is a public road and you pay to drive on it.

Good job the London track isn't as accurate as it would be full of pot holes & empty buses pulling out on you, You'd also have to pay £10 for the privilege.

No, it's only very loosely based on part of the Wangan Highway.
For a PS3 game which reproduces it (and surrounding express roads) quite well, though with dated graphics since it was made in 2007, try "Wangan Midnight". PD could take one lesson or two from that arcade racing game!
