i just won a tourer V after hours of struggle and save/resets..
anywhoo, i get the car, buy springy systems, and sims, then i power the monstrosity up to like 577 hp (606 plus oil change:odd: ) taking the power ratings off the tourers on kaizousha.com for a realistic feel......
so i take the wangan eating beast to trial mountain for a test spinner to see how she drifts for such a big heavy car, and what the fook happens but my wheels spin out all the way through 5th gear then bouncing off the freakin rev limiter!! even tapping the gas spins the fatty out!

so i de-tune the bi*ch down to about 510hp and its a bit more controllable...
but anyways, how much power is exactly too much, when it comes to sims and no TCS?? cuz accelleration suffers when i cant even control spin using the pressure sensitive controls
:banghead:

You want enough power to be able to sustain the drift, but not so much power that it becomes hard to give 'just the right amount of throttle.' In other words, a balance between peak and precision. If you can go higher than you need, and make more smoke, more power to you (get it?) but you need enough precision that you can still control the RPM of the engine instead of switching back and forth between idle and slamming the rev limiter. Remember, drifting isn't about putting down power, it's about having the wheels at a certain RPM above the road to push the car with certain force. It doesn't matter if you have 100hp or 1000hp, the car will be the same speed if drifted properly. That's how 150hp 86's can keep up with 500hp FD's in drift competitions.
