My goodness, you had a thought. Did it hurt?

Tracing is the fundamental part of producing a vector. Unless you are an automotive designer and can draw spectacularly without the aid of a car to trace around, I suggest you stop annoying the people who put in the effort to produce this art, and actually have a go at it yourself. Or is your work so miserable that you can't bear to show it for fear of being laughed out of the house?

If you can in fact produce a vector without the aid of a car to trace around, by all means, show us. If not, stop your whinging and go back to blending in with the background.

i believe the term is used wrong, as a vector could be a number of things.. like a 3d alien that is a vector graphic, i believe it wouldnt be TRACED at all.

From what ive seen drawn on this forums, i can draw better than most.. with the exception of some.

i would rather draw other stuff.

I just don't want the thread to turn into a flame war. Venom_Supra if you don't like it, then you are entitled to your opinions but please don't come and ruin the thread.

By the way, I had just posted something before this all started hoping for some comments, but it got lost in the shuffle so if anyone has any I'd appreciate it.

agreed and i loooooooove that 360 vector although i dont actually like ferrari's that much :rolleyes:
 
All that I think Venom_supra is trying to say is that vector extends far beyond that of tracing cars. He (and I) would like to see someone actually create a proper vector from scratch that isn't a trace of a car.

You're probably thinking: proper vector? What the hell are you talking about - my cars are vector. All your doing is using vector tools to give your car image a cartoonish effect.

Now, before you go flaming me, I only come in this thread when I'm bored (or under18carbon demands I come in to look at his new vector). And as bmwx said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I believe I used the term correctly, as most people in this world are crap drawers (myself included :grumpy: ) and if we tried to produce a vector from scratch, would bungle it to no end.

Splendid! If you can produce a vector from scratch, please, show it! I'd love to see someone vector a car (or anything really, not just cars) from scratch, because I for one would have simply no idea how to do it, or where to start!

Well flaming really comes down to perspective - I don't believe anyone has flamed anyone else in this conversation yet, and I don't intend to flame anyone. I would simply love to see some vector art produced from scratch.

Indeed. This is why I'd like to see an image vectored from scratch, to see if I can learn anything by it, and give it a go myself.

Perhaps we could have a bit of a competition - "Best vector produced from scratch"?

i have no idea what vecoring is!, isnt it just cel-shading??
that is what i have believed.

well maybe ill vector a car i made up and drew (designed a car)

Don't try and get out of it now. If there's one thing I know from experience, it's if you lie once on a small something, people will think you're lying with everything you say.

Not that I think you're lying, I just don't want others to think you're lying, and you try and say you're not, and no one believes you, and we all sit back and watch the flaming begin...

I think it is clear that we need to get back to the topic. I'm eager to see your car, and maybe I will post a design of my own as well, who knows.


EDIT: And one more afterthought... I can only speak for myself, but Venom_supra did you ever think that maybe I enjoy "tracing." I don't know about others, but I enjoy finding good pictures of nice cars and working off those. Yes, I can draw my own cars, but thats irrelevant. If myself and others like to "trace" and work off a picture, then there is nothing wrong with it, just like there is nothing wrong with wanting to vector your own designs. Do whatever you enjoy, but don't knock other people for doing what they enjoy.
 
i vectored a porsche. it's nowhere near what the rest of you can do, but i think its ok for a 1st attempt. Now, can someone tell me how you guys do the wheels? do you make them seperately and add them in after?
