Can't beat the event. I don't know where to post this so I went here. Post your stories about how you beat the challenge!

If I wasn't in first I was a always drafting. I used all available space without leaving the track to execute the best lines through corners possible. You can only miss an apex or two otherwise you might as well start over. It's just about being as clean as possible, drafting as much as possible, and passing as fast as possible.

Trust me, it's a lot easier now after an update that eased off the collision penalties when the game first came out (and the S license tests too). As XS said though, drafting and using the track to its fullest to keep your speed up through those corners.

If you're talking about the Special Event with the 111R on Comfort Hards, it's probably the most difficult one in the entire game imo. I managed to do it when the game first came out (without using SRF), took me a few hours though. I saved the replay afterwards cos it was so hard, I watch it from time to time just to remind myself of the epic challenge!

The VW Bus challenge is all about keeping a constant line, braking late but steadily and drafting as much as you can. I honestly don't remember how I beat the 111R challenge but I must say it's not something you'll beat in your first try. I beat these with the v1.0 physics, so I imagine it must be much easier now.

All with DS3 and twin analogs for maximum accuracy.

Thats the challenge my friend.

1st event is very slow.
2nd event is like driving on ice
3rd event was kinda easy and fun cause of the odd military vehicle.

Why does the lotus handle so terribly in the game? I thought in real life these lightweight MR sports car are supposed to be more prone to understeer?

In the event it has the worst tires possible when it comes to grip. On normal tires I think it's pretty good.

I had the same problem as you, but after the update it became easier. One day I tried it a few times and won it. I basically didn't brake for most of the corners and drafted a lot. Using the track to its fullest is key

Brake early at the first left turn, then the next left DO NOT BRAKE! And, oh yeah, don't hit the other cars. Enter Chicago in 3rd gear, then once you start leaving Chicago downshift. Late brake into Hammerhead and stay on the throttle until the second-to-last corner. Go through that one in 3rd as well with a relatively high entry speed and coast into/through the last corner. Rinse, repeat, and reap your rewards! I actually had less trouble with this than with the Sebastian Loeb rally challenge.
