:lol: Funny thread. OK, I'll do my bit of bragging:

G27 and Playseat Evo: £650-ish (incl. delivery and tax)
37" LG telly + stand: £450
PS3 speakers: £40 (actually a very good sound for the price)
and lots and lots of beer: £ (on-going)

Total: over 1100 quid but all very much worth it 👍
 
What I have bought:
PS2 (specifically for GT), GT3, GT4, DFPro, homemade stand worth about $5 - total around 815AUD
PS3 (primarily for GT), GT5P, G27, WheelStand Pro - about 1315AUD, another 110-120 for GT5

Everything costs more in Australasia - it sucks.

What I would buy but the wife wont let me:
3*PS3, 3*HD TV, 3*Buttkicker (1 each for seat, pedals and wheel), 1 nice seat, custom cockpit, brake loadcell, excellent sound system, sound insulation for shed (hence the extra PS3 - the other lives inside) - about 5-8000AUD.

If there was no wife and kid then time off work could also become a significant factor.
 
i only spend on ps2 and gt4

gt4- 30euros
that because i was looking for most wanted and they not have. so i see gt4 and i buy it.
and i am greatfully for buying this game:tup:
when i play most wanted on my computer(pirate CD) i get tired of the game
i still not tired from gt4 . I think it is a good and realistic simulator of driving.
i alredy finished 2 carrers
the first one with automatic gears and the second one with manual gears with the objective of buying all cars of gt4.
the second carrer was better than first one
first carrer- 72%of winning
second carrer - 86% of winning
it was cool if the gt series get into a online game like the nfs world:idea:
but for pc : a version for free and the full gaem for premium
but not a big thing like gt5
but like gt4 with better graphics:)

Surly not. And as it will never come out, it stays a dream as does the spending of 5000€ just for a game.
And if it comes out. it's possible that it would buy it, but that would mean long saving and not spending somewhere else money (no more tuning cars :()

And i forgot to add the pspgo (Gt was included, but i have a Gtpsp spec version for my psp fat)

I've had GT1,2,3,4,5P and a PS1,2,3 but I really don't remember what I paid for the older stuff. The PS3 was a gift from my girlfriend 👍

I used to roadrace motorcycles for a few seasons at a local club level, but in the Pro class.
An average day at the track was:

Entry fees: $200
Tires: $400
Race fuel $120
Brake pads (1/2 set, they last 2 days): $30

Total: $750 :crazy:

Plus all the seasonal wear items, and that's if i didn't crash...

My entire current PS3 + 24" HD monitor + GT5P comes in at less than that, and I get a LOT more track time (plus I don't get hurt 👍)
 
Thus far I haven't bought anything I wasn't going to buy anyways, I do plan on getting a G27 closer to launch though.

PS3: $300 (Bought mainly for Blu-Ray)
23" 1080p monitor: $200 (Plan on building a CPU later this year, wanted a monitor now though)
Logitech G27: ???
Gran Turismo 5: ???(Will buy limited/collectors edition if available)

So total $700-$800

Total: 2450~ usd (everything is expensive here) + GT5 collectors edition (probably)

most of the stuff is not purely for GT5 but for my gaming and simracing

With it being delayed, it's actually turned out pretty good..

My plans where
1. Cheap PS3 off a mate - £80 (for an 80Gb)
2. DFPro (£60)
3. GT5 (£40?)

My plan was £200 max for all 3..

However, the delay and FM3 (I just love racing games) have meant I want to keep playing FM3 (involved in a lot of online racing), so I diverted the cash to a PWTS Wheel and clubsport pedals.. I'll still get the cheap PS3 and GT5 when it's out..

Oh does Prologue count as spent money on GT5? I guess it does, well add that plus the full version that's it. I didn't buy a PS3 just for GT5.

So, you bought two PS3s and two TVS SPECIFICALLY to play Gran Turismo on, and nothing else? I take it you have played Heavy Rain, so the answer is probably no, so they shouldn't be included in the total. Gran Turismo as a franchise has not cost you 2,650 EUR at all.
 
I bought first LCD only for PS3 and only for GT5P. But then new hd tv standard came in Slovenia so my bro's old tv is worth nothing due to mpeg-4 standard ... so I gave him mine and I bought new LCD which slightly better then my old LCD. But overall the only reason I bought LCD tv in the first place was PS3 + GT5. Oh btw, I sold first PS3 (also said that in "Recent purchases" thread).

Tiresome isn't it!

What TD doesn't realise is although I might be watching Blu ray films, playing other PS3 games, if it wasn't for the impending GT5 release then I wouldn't of purchased a PS3, steering wheel, cockpit, HDTV. I probably would of continued using my Xbox 360 on my bog standard SDTV.

So my post was perfectly correct listing all the items because I wanted to get the best out of GT5. Lets be honest playing GT5 on a SDTV, stereo sound, pad simply doesn't compare to a cockpit, G25, full HDTV, 5.1 surround sound.

I cannot wait for the day when im racing online against 15 other racers whilst using my G25/cockpit, 40" Sony bravia, Sony surround sound. I've been playing video games since the 1980s and the day GT5 is released will be the climax of all these years of gaming.

$800 for ps3 (80% of $999, GT is the only game I play)

So roughly $2k aussie, or under $2k US

look forward to a $3k 3Dtv to add to my list.

Yep, it's tiresome alright - tiresome watching people list a HDTV as though they bought it just to play GT5 on. Rubbish. It's also tiresome wathing you repeatedly list the kit you bought three times in the same post. It doesn't make you better than anybody else you know, just because you have a racing seat, oh and a BRAVIA...oooh, like brand matters :rolleyes:
 
Oh. that reminded me. Add custom wooden cockpit to the list. I Don't know the total price (maybe 100usd max, because we had tools and everything), but its cheaper play seat (and i think better too, because it doesn't have that pole between your legs). I made it with my father (he likes to race sometimes too). Currently i don't have a seat for it (its just a front part), so I'm using my PC chair and the best part is, it perfectly fits for my PC and PS3 racing

Tiresome in as much as you seem to fail to understand that some of us did purchase these items ONLY for GT5. Let me repeat ONLY for GT5.

Did I say I was better than anyone else. Im just looking forward to using all of these items on GT5. Take your inferiority complex elsewhere because you obviously have a problem or your a sad individual who gets a kick out of trolling forums!

Lets hope you don't represent GTP at E3!
