Plenty of countries in the top 20 here that don't come close to some of the countries that aren't eligible to compete for the grand prize in GT Academy...

And what is the point in this thread? The title is a bit misleading.

Point is if PD's ranking boards are accurate in the mini-game then some of the countries that have been left out to compete for racing contracts have a higher "hit rate" for gold times than the countries who are actually eligible to compete...

Which is a shame because in my perspective the core idea of GT Academy is to find the best GT5 drivers and try turn them into car racing professionals...turns out I'm a little off the mark with that assumption and GT Academy is no more than a marketing exercise for the brands involved *sigh*.

It so obviously is a marketing ploy and nissan decided that it's just not worth it to do GTA in AUS and NZ. So again, get over it 👎

Does anyone know what the units of measurement are for the "average gold ranking" stat?
Is it the average of the number of golds per user?

The rate of golds doesn't suggest any country has better drivers than the others, it just suggests there are more casuals taking part and not finishing it.

Let's face it, for anyone with a modicum of skill the gold times are very easy. The only reason the gold percentages are not all 100% is because either very poor drivers are competing or they're getting bored and not doing all of the tests.

To suggest having a higher gold percentage rate means that country is filled with the best of the best is just wrong though.

Yup. I'm going to back this up.
