Haha. Yes. Remember Monaco was on the TCR calendar for this year initially.
Title of the thread is WTCC. New name is World Touring Car Cup.
Best news today. WTCR looks fresh.
150,000EUR and has to be a 2 car team for a season so no Duncan Ende 1 car team. According to Matt Neal, that's a pretty high entry fee.
Going to 3 races with 2 qualifying sessions and reversing the top 10 from qualifying in the other. Just have 3 races where you qualify for race 1, reverse the top 10 for race 2 and the same again for race 3. In fairness, I did have the criticism of TCR as well regarding the grid reversal process.
Apparently, the cost of TCR (for 2 cars) was 80,000EUR and WTCC was 78,000EUR. DOUBLE THE COST!
This did seem pretty inevitable, but all I can say is: thank god for that.
The WTCC grids looked small the few times I've watched.
Correct. But doubling the entry cost per 2 car team is ridiculous. You want to increase the grids, don't jack up the price for teams to actually enter. As Martin Haven said, I wouldn't be surprised to see more teams looking towards series like the CTSCC, TCR UK or TCR Europe.
Formula One: Bet you I can design the worst new logo!
World Touring Cars: Hold my beer.
I thought that was a concept logo at first.
Yeah, the TCR International thing is working so well. It"s a bit redundant to have "world" cup.
They... really didn't try there, did they?
I didn't realize three different types of font counted as a logo.
Nice to see finally some sensible evolution in top line touring cars.
In other news... DTM back and Brands in 2018... good stuff.
What program was used to make that, MS Paint?
Looks like they copied the logo from the Astra
It's just the W from WTCC added to the TCR logo
No, we understand where it comes from. Not sure they could've been lazier if they tried.
On a side note, is the YouTube streaming of TCR is going to continue? Or will it all be Eurosport who had the WTCC?
Eurosport own it so I expect it will be on Eurosport.
Australia need to get with the program
If Adam Hammond were to approach James Moffat(who doesn't have a Supercar seat) and a few other Super2 drivers, I think it would set it off. Don't know what the hold up is, to get them in the B12H. Was talk of a couple European and Asian teams wanting to race here.
Well that's great news for us in the States... :/
See that's what I like non-geoblocked YouTube streams from a fan perspective and liked about TCIS. I could still watch races from 2015 or literally any TCIS race. Wish other series did it.
Love this, Can't wait to see who will have the most manufacturers in any series.
And the WTCC is laid to rest.
Thought I would be most excited about this car(this and the Honda, are neck ion neck), but I'm excited about TCR World. Which cars do best in each region, regardless of teams/drivers.
The first customer (that I know of) for the Hyundai in TCR UK.
Looks like Brisky aren't doing TCR UK next year.
The Glen and Lime Rock will suit these cars. Can't wait to watch the action.
