V8SC is tough to find in North America. Only reliable source I've found to watch full races is on illegal streams. I'd share mine with you, but we get in trouble for braking the law round these here parts. If you're interested, let me know and we can rendezvous under the overpass.

Best place I've found for BTCC is an app called Motortrend On Demand. Has full replays of all BTCC races. Also has hundreds of hours of other racing series and automotive TV shows. It does have v8sc and DTM, but only highlight packs, not the full race.

TCR you can watch on YouTube on the TCR International channel.

There's also WTCC, also on YouTube....but WTCC is pretty terrible right now.

I'm leaning towards towards the BTCC and the DTM, then I'll work my way out.

Really? BTCC cars are just high performance shopping trolleys and DTM cars threaten to break if you look at them the wrong way.

You must not be a fan. LOL
Not really. I find BTCC to be more of a fist fight where a race occasionally breaks out; the races are very short and there are usually complaints about Jason Plato's driving. As for DTM, it tends to be pretty processional.

The entire BTCC season is available from the host broadcaster in nicely edited form http://www.itv.com/btcc/races

The racing can be either very good or at any point it can turn into a GT6 open lobby when you have to wonder if these guys actually have a road car license and their mom's drove them to the track.

How I would rank Touring car Series in terms of Entertainment and Racing action.

Must watch:
BTCC
V8 Supercars
Super TC 2000
Pretty good:
TCR
Brazil Stock Car
Meh:
DTM
Unwatchable:
WTCC
STCC

STCC might be better next year but i'd put WTCC as definitely unwatchable next year.

That's a list I can agree with but I get the feeling that in 2 years TCR will move up into must watch if their high starting point and uptick in competitiveness keeps going that way and the races get longer. Seriously, 10 laps of Sepang? It was decent but it could have turned into something epic had there been more laps.

Also, where might I find STC 2000 races, I've been interested but only really found clips so far.

Sometimes short races are good. Nothing wrong a nice sprint.

Sometime next month, I'll check out some BTCC races and the TCR series. The latter looks like something that would hold my interest.

This Channel on Youtube, posts full coverage of every race, unfortunately it is all in Spanish being an Argentine National Series.

There is another Series that is just as popular in Argentina called Turismo Carretera, it's actually the longest continuous racing series in the world as it's been running non stop since 1937.

In this series you have 4 makes and all cars are based to look like cars from the 70s, the engines are also blocks from those cars, amazingly though they have managed to get the 3L straight six engines to pull over 400hp @ 9500rpm, most TC 2000 drivers race in this as well so the competition is very strong.

If there was a way to describe this series I would say NASCAR mixed with 90s DTM.

BTCC is one of my favourite forms of motorsport. You want to watch the sport furthest away from F1 you're in the right place.

Well. TCR International has a strange calendar. http://tcr-series.com/index.php/news/item/tcr-international-series-unveils-2017-calendar

2 April – Rustavi International Motopark, Georgia
16 April – Bahrain International Circuit (F1 event)
7 May – Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium (WEC event)
28 May – Circuit de Monaco (F1 event)
11 June – Salzburgring, Austria
2 July – Hungaroring, Budapest
9 July – Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, Germany
3 September – Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand
8 October – Korea / China
26 November – Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi (F1 event)

Would have liked to see a race at Imola/Monza.

Yeah Imola was a pretty decent event and as much as it was nice to see Grachev get a win at home I'm happy that Sochi is no longer on the calendar. Sepang not being there is a bit of a disappointment though because that was a good round, they just needed more laps to race with. Which makes me hope that Abu Dhabi is a short version because 10 laps of Sepang is going to be maybe 8 of Yas Marina which would be total poop. Joining WEC for Spa is a bit stupid for length too, I think they should have tried for Le Mans and used the Bugatti Circuit but I'm not familiar with Le Mans' weekend calendar and it probably wouldn't work.

I think it more proves that the WTCC is going down hill. A more surprising move would be the WTCC realising the popularity of cheaper and more widely available TCR cars.

They have to try something to appeal to the privateers. Bless teams like Zengo and the RML Chevy guys, but TC1 really favor the factory teams.

Also, most of the TCR calendar is cool, but...

28 May – Circuit de Monaco (F1 event)

Monaco???

Here's their quite nice graphic.

Interesting slate of races.

I've heard of some of the race tracks on the list, but I don't think I've ever seen a race in Georgia nor Thailand.

I think the race in Georgia next year is the first ever international race held in the country. I could be wrong.

The Buriram (aka Chang) Int in Thailand is actually a really great track. It is a modern Tilke designed circuit with massive paved runoff, but having watched TCR, Super GT, and World Superbike from there, it produces some fantastic racing. Apparently most of the drivers love it.

On a seperate note, I'm really glad to see Salzburgring still on the calander....such a brilliant little circuit!

Anyone heard if there is a TCR series starting in the US for 2017?

Both IMSA and PWC are expected to adopt TCR regulations for their lower classes, but not until 2018.
The IMSA class you refer to, will that be the ST class of CTSCC? I'm not sure how I feel about that...I love the FF vs FR dynamic of the ST class, and isn't TCR all FF, unless I'm mistaken?

Yes, (a) IMSA is looking at TCR for ST in the Conti Series, and (b) all TCR cars at the moment are FF. I believe IMSA is at the 'looking at it' stage, and not implementing anything yet.
I agree, I love the spirit of ST, and don't want to see such a drastic overhaul of regs, despite IMSA's reasoning for looking into it. And you run into marketing issues for the States with most of the TCR cars available (no Alfa Giulietta, no Seats or Opels period, and the Honda Civic TCR is the wrong body style for the US.) But a lot can change in a year.

What's the reasoning behind TCR being FF only? Is it for cost, ease of ballancing performance, what? I'm just curious, because like I said, I enjoy the FF vs FR battles we get in BTCC and ST. I like where TCR is headed as a global catagory, but I'd like it even more if it had some RWD cars in it.

It's most likely for the ease of balancing performance if anything. However, sometime in the future, i'd like to see a mix where both are competitive.

It's true.

Yep. Id think it too soon to be at the 2017 AGP, but if a time slot can be made for an exhibition (because it will no doubt be a non-championship event), please do.

If their only option is for a non-championship event during the seasons, they won't go there. It would be pointless.
