Here.(They have aired every ILMC race this season)

I don't remember having any issues finding one. Maybe if the race wasn't a part of a small series there would be a little more incentive to air it.

Yet, in the next 3 years we are getting a WTCC race in Sonoma, an Australian V8 race in Austin and 2 Grand Prix's. Not to mention the various other major events here.

Yup, it's dead.

It is free, I wish they had a pay option for those with a non supported ISP.

Now, back on topic.

I wonder what kind of paint job the Toyota will have?

I've found the streams on Le Mans.org but thankd

When do you think Spy shots will start appearing.....Funny the entry may have been the worst kept secret but the car is definetly not ggoing to be getting snapped by photographers anytime soon. I supsect theyll invest in some kind of camera jamming mist with all there money hahahaha

Around the time they'll hit the track for the first time which is going to happen early 2012? 💡 (They could do some shakedowns before that though)

Actually, they'll probably want to release official photos of the first test with drivers posing with the car and so on.

Next batch of announcements (more drivers?) or more information could come 3rd Dec (Tokyo Motor Show).

Photos of the Lexus LFA GTE that's competing in the 2012 24hrs Le Mans leaked in July, so it's definitely possible. And those were in-factory close-up shots as opposed to blurred/distant shakedown shots.

That LF-A GTE is sick. PD, you better start modeling that.

I have a gut feeling the Japanese driver Toyota wants in the LMP car will cut his teeth at La Sarthe in this car.

There is an LF-A GTE Car? I've seen one in Nurburgring 24 hour clips. Can only imagine how amazing it will look.

“One thing I know, that I have learned, is that you must never permit the manufacturers -- especially the Japanese manufacturers -- to have their way with the rulebook because they think like competitors, which is all well and good for them, but they know absolutely nothing about the business of professional motorsports.”
a quote from Bernie Ecclestone from a long time ago.....
something tells me this Toyota Team isnt here to mess around.....

Ew and Ecclestone quote...The Japanese are just very clever when it comes to bending but not breaking the rules. Perhaps the rule book should just be more descriptive.

What were they thinking with those headlights? Dang at least they could put some family resemblance into the race car.

They're the engineers, but I personally feel going the gas hybrid route won't work as well as the diesel route. They could even have tried a diesel hybrid, which is something of genius that we don't see very often.

I want to see a Mazda SkyActiv-D hybrid Le Mans car now. :D

I've said this before, but why can't we get road cars that look like these closed cockpit LMPs? I mean seriously. So it wouldn't be as practical as a conventional supercar, but who buys a supercar to be practical? The closest thing was the oriinal Pagani Zonda, but even that was a bit abstracted to make it more road friendly. I adore the crazy aerodynamics of the current crop of LMP cars, especially the Audi's.

I would love the Veyron so much more if it looked like this instead of an overgrown Audi TT. It would probably be faster too :)

Still not as beautiful as the most beautiful racing car ever made: the Toyota GT-One.

Ahem:

The 905 looks nowhere near as good as the TS020. Personally I think the 787b and the TS020 are the two best looking Le Mans racers ever. But then again I have an incredible weak spot for the looks the closed cockpit prototypes had in the late 90s. The CLR and 911 GT1 are two other examples of some incredible looking machinery.

I do love the 787B and the MB C11. The CLR and 911 GT1 always looked a bit too 'squashed road car' for me. The 905 looks so outrageous and yet delicate at the same time. It looks so French I suppose. And it goes like absolute hell. Brutally fast.

Isn't that a C11? If so, I said that on the last page.

But I think we are in general agreement that closed cockpit LMPs rule. Why can't we have street legal cars that look half as cool??

(Not sure if there's 2 images or even 1....phone app...would appear no pic, google Corvette LMP1 for what it would have looked like)
No-one heard about the proposed in 2008 'LMPEVO' regulations to replace P1 with cars resembling road cars?

Need I say more? Timeless beauty is timeless beauty :sly:

(closed cockpit pictured, since it seems most like it more)

I wish it was like the LMGTP era when the manufacturers had LMP cars that looked different, and they would make about 50 road going versions of the car

LMGTP was created for closed top coupes....late 90's GT1 required atleast 1 road going example to be built and that car didn't actually need to be sold. Can you please start doing some research?

I have and thats what I came up with. What was the exact differences between late 90s GT1 and late 90's LMGTP? Because the Toyota GT-ONE and the and The Mercedes CLK (Can't remember the exact name) Looked identical from whe they moved from GT1 to LMGTP. Crazy looking GT cars though!

You were saying...?

It looks interesting at least. Hopefully it will do better than their F1 efforts...

This thread is wonderfully off topic.

Did I miss someone mentioning that the new Toyota will also be called the GT-One?

If not, the new Toyota will also be called GT-One.
