Nice vid, but I just can't believe you need to put over a THOUSAND horsepower in a Supra to get it do do a sub 10 quarter!

Thats a lot of effort, ok its road legal (backfire might attract police ) and I expect it has a CD player and sat nav, but heres the figures for a STOCK ZX12. This is a timed run, not a manufacturers claim.

That could be 1100hp at the crank, or the clutch, which if it were at the crank would only be about 800hp. It looked pretty stock too, and not to mention that the guy had a pretty crappy takeoff. that was easily a response time of like .5s. IHRA dudes do it in like .09s...but then again, they're paid to be that good and if they arent no more sponsors...nice supra though.

Thats a loss of 300Hp your talking about there...hmmm not sure about those figures.

Even an 800hp Supra is certainly NOT Stock

That's more like it...big horses should get you under 9 secs ( 8.45 ). Did I hear Nitrous?

btw. That is the worst take off ever You can see the Truck go, at first I thought he'd jumped the lights, but you can see them change to green...that's a half second delay...could he have done sub 8

The Supra didnt launch on green because reaction times wernt enabled (it wasnt a race) so he took of when he was ready, as soon as the sensor dectects movement then the timer starts.

Maybe I'm expecting too much from 1000Hp+

Of course the ZX12 doesn't weigh 4000lbs, but you can buy a brand new one for less than the price of a set of wheels for that Supra

Don't get me wrong, it's a monster car, it must have cost an absolute fortune to tune up to 1300Hp at the flywheel. I'd be a little dissapointed that it didn't break the 9s barrier. I know that 0.5secs is a huge difference in a quarter mile, but you have to agree that the 8.45s run is stunning!
