Posted on the track list thread, but i´ll post here, because i wanna hear your opinion.

What do my fellow GTPers think about all this?
Man you're 100% right.
We had all the possible clues, so many of them. Somehow it would be like 2-3 years of work (and I don't know how much money involved) put in the trash.
If those tracks are truly DLC content I will be a bit disappointed but I'll buy all of them. No matter what. We've been waiting so long and I don't want 1/3 of GT5's racing experience. I want it all, and I want it now♪

I just noticed this on the back of the box

Add-on content. Could it be just those miserable 11 chrome+stealth cars and a Joey Logano's #20 Gamestop Toyota Camry? A dynamic theme? A couple of things for PS Home? .....For the best selling Playstation exclusive?
No, come on.

Actually I think your average person hears 27/28 tracks, some with weather, and a few day/night and they are blown away.

It is us that have different expectations.

By the way, the box art has the 20+ 70+ on the back.

Where it says Playstation network features it clearly lists Add-on content.

So DLC confirmed?

Yes, remember those stupid cars u get when u buy the 180 dollar edition? I was planning to buy the 80 dollar edition by the way so I could enjoy the book when I couldnt play. I'm not going to do that any more since I don't think i have to read a book for a game with only 20 tracks.

There will be DLC, this is not Kaz and PD's game, it's Sony's, I believe Kaz when he said everything was going to be on the disc, but I also believe that what he meant by that is they won't hold back content that could otherwise be included on the disc. Anyway there's already DLC for pre-orders and collector edition.

Well if it is true they MUST say something about it, now. Not just a couple of words in an old and unknown interview, not in tiny letters on the back of a box.

.

It´s just unexplicable to have less than the portable version...

Shockingly that is a very good point.

Less tracks than the portable version.. I mean come on.. somebody has got to be taking the P!55 havent they ????

That is just ridiculous, I would have been better buying a PSP to play GT on ???

IMO ( and this is just my opinion so no point having a go at me )

This is the worst GT to ever hit the shelves. Not because of the weather / nite/day stuff is limited to a select few tracks which sucks .Oh and the damage model is graphically a joke..Oh yeah I forgot standard car tuning...more.... yep theres no LAN play ...any more....Oh yeah no multi screen by the looks of it "OO OO" but we do have the X1... Another JOKE !!

But read that again...

Less tracks than the portable version

I cant believe they have the bare faced cheek to put this on the shelf and label it GT5..then try to sell it for £150... PD & SONY... you should all have stockings on your heads and pretend to be ROBBERS... because thats what your amounting to at the moment.

This is either GT4.5 or GT6 Prologue...

There better be some SERIOUS dlc for cheap or this will be the last GT I buy.

No, come on.

That´s the thing. I will also buy all of the DLC, unless it´s some weird cars that i don´t want.

I guess Sony knows this, they know how loyal and desperate GT fans are. They know they can cut back content because we will buy it as DLC.

And to be honest, at this point, i just hope they come in at least as DLC. Better than not having at all.

Comparing the amount of tracks between GT5 and GT:PSP is intelectually dishonnest, the amount of work that goes into making a track for the PSP is not even comparable to that of the PS3.

Actually, thats untrue the way tracks are made, has nothing to do with what system or game it is run on. I dont know where people get this misconception that PSP tracks are different. They are not , they are exactly the same.

tracks can be ported from game to gamewith little hassle, its the graphics engine that makes them look up to par with the system its being run on. Thats how pc games can convert from game to game very easily, they are made in the exact same way GT tracks are made.. 3D in either 3D studio max or Maya.

As long as the textures are good, its a straight forward conversion. the 3D thats under the texture is identical.

In any case I wasnt meaning the time scale to make a track blah blah.. I was just expressing that a mobile gaming platform with a VERY SMALL disc in comparison has more content than a home system... Why did we buy a ps3 again ???? I thought it was a better more capable console ???

Is it not crazy to anyone else that the official track list looks this "thrown together"?

1. Where is Suzuka West?
2. Why doesn't Suzuka East have weather if the regular track does?
3. Why is Time/Weather only listed on one version of la Sarthe?
4. Time/Weather on the Nurburgring is all screwed up. Why only have Time on the regular Nordscheife and not the GP? Especially since the 24hr course has both Time and Weather. Which means it is modeled for the GP course, etc.
5. Monza No Chicane doesn't have weather?
6. I'll skip past other minor things and ask why Cape Ring doesn't have Reverse?
7. Why does Eiger call itself "short" if there isn't a long? I know there are the trails under Dirt/Snow, but it shouldn't be called "short". It should be called "Eiger Road Course" or something similar.
8. Where is London's long version? I thought that was confirmed.

I'm not saying this means anything, but it is just strange that it looks so ragged. And to top it off, what is with the Japanese Character next to Eiger?

Edit: Oh yea, and where did Piazza del Campo go? Did they have to hold off till they fixed the flags?

More examples of unproffesionalism... KAZ your standards are slipping man..

Time to stop with all the PR crap.. and get back to the factory and sort your team out.

To top it off, all of the game´s tracks are avaliable from day one, unlike other GT games.

It would be a dream to find out that this is the list from the start, and not the final one, but i rather not believe in this so i won´t set myself to disappointment.

Yes, good call on London. Back when Kaz announced, he said there was going to be a long version.

Also, some TGS videos of Eiger show road paths extending beyond the track... Eiger long was also a "given".

Anyway, i think we haven´t really solved this mistery.

At last, i would like to hear Kaz tells us why some tracks were cut.

And to reply to what Boarder323 said, when he expects the PSP tracks to be in it, it´s because all those tracks were upscaled and converted to 1080p for GT HD Classic, back in 2006. That´s why our surprise.

But I´m against the hate towards PD. I´m just surprised and bummed. Thankfully with DLC there´s a solution for this.

This will be one of the most polished games to come out this decade.

Your going overboard.

I dont think anyone Hates, PD I dont I just very suprised by the Lack of the usual PD standards. And as for DLC, WTF should we pay extra for content that has already been promised.

"no buy", just as expected...a bunch of fake boring tracks. Tsukuba & Fuji, sorry they were both mind numbingly boring in GT4, don't want to even do 1 lap on them.

There's 3 rally tracks LOL. sorry, PD 5 years and this is what you give? The same boring fake tracks from Gran Turismo 1.

Are you calling out Kaz for mistakes on a Track List? Or the tracks themselves? :odd:

There are far too many poeple acting like kids at christmas because they are going to get to play GT in a few days..

Stand back and look at the big picture,

" Gran Turismo 5 is an ambitious project, with challenges and complexities which have made it our version of the Apollo Space Program! When we created the original Gran Turismo back in 1997, we wanted to set a completely new precedent for the racing genre. With the technological leap onto PlayStation 3, our objective with Gran Turismo 5 was to create another great revolution which would not only satisfy our own high expectations, but would meet or even exceed the anticipation of the fans. Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts, which is why it was such a difficult decision to delay the release of the game, and one which we did not take lightly. I can only apologize to everyone for making you wait so long, and I hope that when you try out the wealth of driving experiences available in Gran Turismo 5, you will not be disappointed."

Quoted from Kaz himself...

If you think he has deliverd that... then fair play..

In my book he has missed that statement by a country mile..

Its not the list, its the content of the list..

There are tracks missing that KAZ has said were going to be in ???

What's ODD about that...

What I do find ODD, is that these track's that were confirmed.. actually arent even in the game...

Its a good job I dont write for a magazine... I'd rip this game to shreds..

If the Dev time on this were 2-3 years I could understand most of it..but 5 years.....

Considering the leaked video and the approaching Black Friday, I think Sony was forced to announce to the public that the game will be releasing very soon. With that said, I think they 1) threw a Practice tracklist together to give us something 2) held back the rest of the tracks to leave something the be amazed about. Otherwise the leaked videos would reveal everything eventually. Plus anything that actually didn't make the product cut should be DLC. Or what didn't make the disk was because they needed a little more space. If they were over 500mb or so the capacity of the blue-ray, it would make sense to do DLC or a patch.

Surely I am missing a few pluses to this game. I think sometimes we spend so much time here that we forget how much this game will have to offer. And it surprises me when people think Kaz is slipping.

With that said, he has overstated in that quote. I can agree with that. But don't act like this game isn't an achievement. Even though, of course, neither of us have played it. So, I guess we should both stop assuming.

The game has been under "development" for 5 years. The PS3 came out in 2006. That is 4 years ago. However, since GT4, PD has released Tourist Trophy, GTPSP, and GT5P.

What you don't seem to realize is that this game was basically built from the ground up. And so far it appears only the previous car assets have been reused in the form of standard cars.

Now, this is not to say that I'm not disappointed in some ways, or that the game/PD/Kaz are perfect. But you are overstating your opinion, in the same exact way Kaz overstated this game in that quote.
