It's alright, we all have those nights. It's rare that I'm able to put in a performance like that and take 2 race wins.

Thanks to all who attended tonight, whilst it was a modest field, hopefully we should have some extra cars join us next week.

I managed to get photos from the race 1 video after we finished everything, I'll work on getting races 2 and 3 done as well and have a race report up before the next round.

great strong racing guys!, was so close!. looking forward to the next and well done to the winners!!
dont worry NW, im sure you will come on strong in the coming rounds!

It was a pleasure having you join last night. You certainly helped create some exciting racing. In fact, looking at the 1st race video we all contributed to some exciting racing, including NW48 in the opening lap!

No probs my man, yeah that first lap was a bit hectic but really fair, as we're all the races! Let me know when you are thinking of having a prac session for the next round and I'll be there! Wednesday nights are pretty much the only day I am at work til 9pm, peace guys!

Yep, I'll have to get you to do all three races this week, just don't have the time currently.

just been doing some laps at deep forest (R), woah its fast!, is gonna be a very entertaining track based on last nights comp! quick, tight, flowing sections with some good deep breaking points for overtaking, good choice Itz! in general i think the circuits we visit are rather balanced (challenging racing/entertaining) will keep the series close

Yeah I decided to go in reverse because it had a similar layout to Queensland Raceway. The difference is, deep Forrest is 1000x more interesting!

hahahah yeah i like the tracks the mimic the aussie ones best also. i cant count the number of laps i've done in the xr8 at mount panorama!

Nasanu Claims Bragging Rights in Race One

The 2014 Track Stars Touring Car Championship kicked off in exciting fashion at the Cote d’Azur Street Circuit in Monte Carlo, Monaco on Thursday the 4th of September.

With a lap time of 1:31.722, Nasanu took the pole position for the opening race in his superior Mercedes-Benz. The fight for the remaining front row position was close, with ItzRacing’s last gasp qualifying lap falling 0.023 Seconds short of Nosoks’ earlier effort, seeing Nosoks take 2nd position. MTLA1984 occupied 4th position on the grid, while NW48 rounded out the field in 5th.

Race 1

Nosoks had a clean start from the front row and led the field into turn 1. His time at the front was short lived, with Nasanu, MTLA1984 and ItzRacing all moving ahead of him in the run up to Beau Rivage. Itz Racing then attempted and audacious move at Massenet, moving into 2nd behind MTLA1984.

The field had briefly sorted itself into single file heading through Casino, but ItzRacing then tried a pass on MTLA1984 into Mirabeau with Nasanu looking to do likewise to ItzRacing. ItzRacing then clipped the inside barrier with Nasanu right behind being disadvantaged, dropping to the rear of the field.

The battle for positions continued into the Loews Hairpin, with ItzRacing trying a move around the outside for the lead. NW48 moved ahead of his BMW Motorsport Teammate Nosoks into 3rd place and then ran side by side with ItzRacing through Portier, before ItzRacing moved ahead. MTLA1984 led the opening lap from ItzRacing, Nosoks and NW48, with Nasanu beginning his recovery at the rear.

ItzRacing closed up to the back of MTLA1984, attempting a pass at the Chicane and making contact. Both drivers continued in their positions. Nasanu’s charge through the field was taking shape, moving ahead of NW48 and then Nosoks heading in to Tabac.

ItzRacing continued to shadow MTLA1984 until he clouted the Armco barrier at Chicane, abruptly halting his progress and allowing Nasanu into 2nd position.

Nasanu then closed up to the back of MTLA1984’s Alfa Romeo. MTLA1984 made a slight slip exiting Anthony Noghes at the end of lap 7, which was all Nasanu needed to jump into the lead completing his charge from last to first!

NW48 retired from the race shortly after Nasanu took the lead, with Handling issues getting the better of his BMW.

Up front though, Nasanu streaked away in the lead (with his race suit on of course!) and crossed the line after 9 laps in spectacular fashion to take the race 1 Victory. MTLA1984 finished in 2nd place, ItzRacing rounded out the podium in 3rd place, Nosoks took 4th while NW48 retired from the race.

ItzRacing Fights Back In Race 2

Race 2

Nasanu started race 2 from pole position as a result of the opening race win, joined by MTLA1984 on the front row. Nasanu was unfortunately caught jumping the start, resulting in a 5 second penalty which dropped the Mercedes-Benz driver to the rear of the field.

MTLA1984 took the lead into turn 1 with ItzRacing and the 2 BMW’s of NW48 and Nosoks following behind. MTLA1984 ran wide through Casino, and that was all the opportunity ItzRacing needed to take the lead of the race.

Further back it was a 3 way fight between NW48, Nosoks and Nasanu for 3rd place. NW48 collected the Armco at the chicane in similar fashion to ItzRacing in race 1 and the BMW driver was soon pointing in the wrong the direction after being collected by the closely following Nosoks. Nosoks and Nasanu moved up to 3rd and 4th respectively whilst NW48 got the BMW quickly pointed back in the correct direction.

A lap later, Nasanu moved ahead of Nosoks for 3rd position at Tabac setting chase for the leading 2 cars. Meanwhile ItzRacing was out in front establishing a comfortable gap over the Opel drivers fellow rivals.

At the back of field, NW48’s struggles continued with the BMW driver retiring again and calling it a day.

Back at the front of the field, Nasanu had now caught up to MLTA1984 and was lining up to make a pass. Nasnau made the pass into Mirabeau only for MLTA1984 to retake the position into Loews Hairpin with the battle continuing through Portier.

Nasanu continued to hound the MTLA1984’s Alfa Romeo, with the 2 drivers even making contact through Portier with a couple laps remaining. Nasanu was throwing everything at MTLA1984 in an effort to get past, using as much kerb as legally possible and even a little more!

Back out front ItzRacing was on the final lap and crossed the line to take a comfortable victory in race 2. MTLA1984 held out Nasanu in a close race to take 2nd place with Nasanu in 3rd, Nosoks the last finisher in 4th place, with NW48 retiring.

Brilliant review and pics Itz! Nas was just far too good in race 1! Once he passed during my stumble out of Anthony Noghes i thought i may have snuck into his slipstream down the front straight but he was great on the breaks into Sainte Devote and showed me a clean pair of heals. Defending Itz at the beginning was pretty tough also!

When Nas passed in race 2, i knew he would zip away from me again unless i attacked right back, luckily enough i managed to get back up the inside at the hotel hairpin and defend like a madman until the end! Itz blew us away (not sure if nas would have caught and challenged him as i know i was holding him up!) though he did suffer some pretty heavy tyre wear by the last lap.

ItzRacing Claims a Thrilling Race 3 to Take the Round 1 Win

Race 3

The 3rd and final race was set to be a thriller with 2 points separating Nasanu, ItzRacing and MTLA1984 at the top of the round standings. ItzRacing was starting from pole with MTLA1984’s Alfa Romeo joining the Opel Driver on the Front row. With NW48 out for the 3rd race, there were only 4 drivers with Nasanu and Nosoks on the 2nd and final row.

Côte d'Azur.jpg

MTLA1984 got the best start, leading the field into Turn 1, with ItzRacing, Nasanu and Nosoks close behind. The casino was soon to become ItzRacing’s favourite place, with the Opel driver going all in and diving underneath MTLA1984 to take the lead. Nasanu took advantage as well, passing MTLA1984 into Mirabeau to take 2nd place.

Côte d'Azur_4.jpg

Nasanu’s sights were now set on taking ItzRacing’s position at the front of the field, with the Opel drivers mirrors now full of the sight of the menacing Mercedes-Benz. ItzRacing ran wide at La Rascasse but was able to return to the racing line and hold his lead. Contact was made at the Chicane with a couple laps remaining ItzRacing holding onto 1st place and even allowed to build a lead as Nasanu recovered from MTLA1984 getting into the back of him as a result of the initial contact. It’s at this point where words don’t do the story justice and it is better to sit back and enjoy the pictures from this battle.

Nasnau was able to close the gap to ItzRacing and had one final crack at taking the win at La Rascasse on the last lap. After a couple of bumps, ItzRacing entered Anthony Noghes comfortably ahead and raced to the finish line to claim the Race 3 victory and with it, take out the honours in the Opening Round. Nasanu took 2nd place, with MTLA1984 in 3rd place and Nosoks in 4th position.

Nasanu claimed 1 point for his qualifying effort, 1 point for setting the fastest lap for the round and another point for leading a lap on his way to the race 1 Victory. ItzRacing claimed 1 point for leading a lap and another bonus point for most laps lead, leading 18 of the 27 laps during the round. MTLA1984 also claimed a point for leading a lap, leading 7 laps overall.

ItzRacing took the round win and the series with 111 points. Nasanu was 2nd with 106, MTLA1984 in 3rd place with 98, Nosoks scored 72 points to take 4th place and NW48 scored 40 points from the 2 races.

In the manufacturers standings, BMW scored 112 points to take a 1 point lead over Opel on 111. Mercedes Benz is 3rd with 106 and Alfa Romeo 4th on 98 points.

Round 2 Track Stars Touring Car Series will be held at Deep Forrest Raceway running in the reverse direction, on the 11th of September.

Brilliant! coming into the chicane nas was stationary it seemed and i just plowed into the back of him!, was too fast and tight i didn't have time to react!. Sox was piling on the pressure so i got going asap!. Great racing all round!, hope some more of the drivers can make the next round, will be a great track to have a swathe of cars hoofing around!

cheers for the review and championship standings Itz
