jp has already lost plenty of troops to some moron who keeps raiding his village, with losses to both sides.

I'm also doing some raiding with 3 troops. They're getting around 30 of each resource per raid.
 
Dam...you guys can raid without losing troops?

around 50% of the time I raid, I will lose 1. I always send min. 6 troops.

So what i get from raids i use to build new troops.... :grumpy:
 
If I were you, I'd wait on the raiding until you get swordfighters. Phalanxes are suited towards defence, and swordfighters are good attack troops. You shouldn't lose the swordfighters on raids on empty towns.

Last night when the site went down, my bookmarks didn't work. A search for travian brought me to that site. It looks like now it is back to it's original address.

Just to echo Ev0, run battle simulations from your rally point. You'll see that the Phalanx is rubbish for raids - you need 6 just to get them back from an empty town. 3 Swordfighters, on the other hand, are just as successful and can carry more.

Always send a party of 4 swordfighters. Any town with a population less than 40 will not provide any resistance.

As many of you know Ev0 was away this weekend, in his abscence he asked for sitters. MachOne, a FF, volunteered for the position. However, MachOne was unable to sit for Ev0 due to a vacation of his own, one that was taken on very short notice. As a result Ev0's account was unattended and he was raided mercilessly, Ev0 estimates his losses to be in the neighbourhood of 5000 resources total.

MachOne has written an apology to Ev0 and to the members of the alliance here http://s7.invisionfree.com/GTP_Travian_Alliance/index.php?showtopic=163 to expain why he was called away. Upon learning that the alliance would be asking for him to temporarily removing him, he voluntarily resigned. I have posted in that thread accepting his apology and I encourage other members to do so as well.
 
I've already accepted his apology. I think he was not happy with the entire situation he was in, and just needed some time to cool down and get his wits back so he could make a good apology.

And if anyone is wondering, the grand total of resources lost is 4985; I finally added it up.
 
For those who're not aware of it yet, GTP is currently at war for the first time... go see my "large attacks" thread to know the details. Make sure your crannies are at a sufficient level! Let's crush them. :D
 
I have my Academy levelled up, my Barracks levelled up, my Rally point levelled up, my Cranny levelled up... I just need a Blacksmith and an Armoury and I'll be ready to farm

What do you get with that academy? I'm assuming it allows you to build different types of troops or build them faster.
 
Better troops, stable, blacksmith, etc!

Famine, when did you started to play?

BTW, I think upgrading the rally point only gives you bonuses with catapults, or am I wrong?
 
I have no army. Currently...

My village size is 66 and I have as many resources as my warehouse can hold.
 
Rally point increases the accuracy of your siege equipment.

Upgrading barracks increases training time of troops and opens new buildings

Armoury can be used to increase your troops defenses

Blacksmith used to increase attack of troops and open up new buildings

Academy can be used to train new units. Each unit has a cost associated with researching that unit. For example you must spend 880|580|1560|580| 1:45:00 just for the ability to build Axefighters as a Teuton, IN ADDITION to their cost/unit.
 
i've had all those for a while now. i'm upgrading my cranny and storehouses so that I can build a palace.
