TT 35: Laguna Seca (SUSPENDED) & Chamonix West. [Post 1 for tunes!]

Wow, what the...

Amo seems a little agitated, thought you would have been a little more humble. You are good no doubt, so what's the issue?

Welcome to GT Planet all the same and I hope you share some of your wisdom.

On a serious note I think this has become a battle of rules of GT5 vs the rules of WRS.

Here's the catch, us at WRS believe that:
- no contact is allowed
- at least 2 wheels must be on track at all times
- you mustn't use any unfair advantage not mentioned in the rules

Rules of GT5 however are following:
- contact to a certain extent is allowed
- at least one wheel (in some cases due to awful track boundaries all 4 wheels can go off track)
- use any unfair advantage you can think of

I find the rules of WRS better and I race and TT by them, it's up to you to drive by the rules you wish. Noone is forcing anyone to blindly follow our rules but it's understandable if someone makes a mistake once, but almost every time...? Not understandable and not respectable at all.
Amo, you say that you cut just because RB26 cut? So a number on the leaderboard is more worthy than beeing #1 cleanly? Ok, that shows enough of your personaliity.

That's my take on the situation.

Guys guess what!!
I just found out that everyone in the top 10 used the shortcut and wallbang!!!

OMFG it wasn't just Amo!!!! Infact, its thousands of people from across the world!

I'm pretty sure the top 10 would be a different line up if it was being driven clean... many of the regular seasonal entrants seem to have given it a miss for some strange reason

:p

Ranked 34 at Chamonix...
Btw I was cutting the track so hard.
If you got something to say about you're imaginary rules, then say it

Hi
I see a beautiful band of jealous on this forum
I say yours is that I never cheat in Chamonix is the Japanese who cheated from day one when I had my turn with no cut on the first day I went to not let it happen so easily ...
laguna seca and I would not benefit a bite try the first corner you will see before you speak in vain attempt

for you and even more disgusted I am in my lap 20 minutes on chamonix
and laguna seca 2 hours maximum
next time I would be a little less fun if you continue to say **** about me

Not jealous of your corner cutting....at all. Look, I'm not as fast as you or the rest of the majority of the leaderboards but at least I run clean laps. I can understand clipping a cone or even going of the track a tad, but what you and others have done at Chamonix is out right deliberate corner cutting. If you were not the first to do it, you still followed, which makes you just as bad as the first guy. You know,I respect all the fast guys, admire their talent.

Double post, ran out of characters. Like I was saying, I look to you guys for advice and its a shame that you have to lower yourself to corner cutting. Thats what makes me lose respect for people like you. I know you are fast and have mad skills Amo, so why lower your standards to blatent corner cutting. Anyways, thats all I really have to say. Peace.

Currently in 3rd at Laguna with a 1:35.867. Here's what I did:

Buy a brand new Evo X from Premium dealership. DO NOT DO AN OIL CHANGE.

Performance upgrades are everything except engine stage 1,2 or 3 and no turbo upgrade. So, it has all the best exhaust parts, air filter parts, suspension drivetrain etc. Oh and all the weight reduction parts too.

Here's the setup:

393bhp - Powerlimiter 100%
Ballast 170kg @ +50

Suspension:
RH 40/-15
SR 11.7/8.9
EXT 5/6
Com 6/5
ARB 4/4
Camber 1.0/0.7
Toe -0.15/0.05

LSD 10/20/12 Front
10/26/14 Rear

Torque Distribution 40/60

Gearbox

Reset to default, then set Final gear all the way to the right, then set max speed all the way down (to the left), then set individual gears to these settings:

1st-2.732
2nd-2.097
3rd-1.674
4th-1.385
5th-1.187
6th-1.044

Then set Final gear back to 4.213, this should give a max speed at the top of 140mph (approx 220km/h)

I'm no pro at tuning but this setup works for me, although I'll probably continue to make a few tweeks.

I used much of this tune on my Premium 07' GSR to get to 1:36.5xx and ranked 68 or so...top Canuck so far.

Thanks Dazmeister:tup:

EDIT: Just read some posts above. You can cut a corner at Chamonix? Holy crap I didn't know that, no wonder I'm so far behind!!

Because "we" don't care for you imaginary rules.
We do follow the rules to its greatest extent. but we don't follow your imaginary rules.
According to PD, that area of the track is not off-limits so then I go onto it because thats PD's rules. If I was racing in a league race or something and the rules were that that area of the track was off-limits, I wouldn't go there because that is part of the rules.

I mean this is so relatable to "camping" in a first-person shooter game. Its stupid rule made by the gamers. But is it a rule to the creaters of the FPS? No.

The creators (PD in this case) makes the rules, not the gamers (GTPlanet).
Would I like to see that area of Chamonix off-limits? Believe me I do. I think its stupid that that huge lump of snow is part of the track. However PD doesn't think so and I will have to make the best of it.
I follow the rules of PD or I follow the rules of the host. Not imaginary rules.
Instead of getting mad at the people who don't follow you're imaginary rules, write up something to PD and perhaps they will correct what is wrong.

Yes the whole idea of "camping" being a dumb rule is correct but it's an incorrect analogy in this case because camping is well within the boundaries and spirit of the game. In real life soldiers hide and ambush. When I played the COD series I loved campers because they tended to hide in the same spots and were easy to kill. A more appropriate analogy in this case would be someone finding an "exit" point on a given FPS map and being able to stand outside that map and shoot people without taking hits themselves. Once someone finds that glitch everyone does it and before you know it the spirit and intent of the game or that map in particular is ruined because in real life, soldiers can't move outside of the real world and shoot people.

I'm with KB on this one, it's about honour and integrity. Some people understand that, many don't. A win without honour and integrity is not a win at all, and anyone that wins a time trial through exploiting a programming glitch that offers up significant time advantage should be looked at with scorn for what they are...a cheater. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be. The track boundaries are the track boundaries and programming mistakes don't change that. To some of these guys winning is the only thing that matters regardless of the spirit or intent of the game or the rules. I'd rather have my integrity and finish 500th.

Well said Johnny, you totally understand my point and where I'm coming from on this.
To REDPARTYHAT: Its not my imaginary rules. Pretty sure it was just an oversight in the programming. Even if it wasn't, I'm pretty sure there is a track for a reason. Otherwise, they would have just given us a field of snowbanks to drive through with a finish line somewhere off in the distance. Keep cutting your corners, at least I can take pride in knowing I run clean laps and didn't have to resort to exploiting a programming flaw in order to achieve a fast lap time.

This!! Mind you, I can't even get away with cheating and still finish 500th. Seems there's a few here get off on spending most of the time arguing amongst themselves about what someone else does which has no impact whatsoever on their own situation.

I'll use a golf analogy...I can play a particular golf course. I practice and continue to improve my game and score. A playing partner has trouble counting and shoots a lower score. The scorecards say he is the better player, I am comfortable in my own mind that I have played with integrity and have played better AGAINST THE COURSE. His reputation will soon become public without the benefit of my speaking out, it doesn't need my input to become obvious.

The leaderboards to me are irrelevant...for me it is about the time improvement itself. Now if we were all putting in cash and the winner took the pool, the angst would be justified and understandable.

I wonder how many of those who are the greatest protesters/denigrators (things have been said which would earn a nice smack in the mouth out in the real world) have completely clean moral slates out in their lives, or times where they have seen 'shortcuts/glitches' and have taken advantage of those instances for personal benefit? I would suggest every single one of them.

It's just a game, folks. You use glitches or you don't. My first three game saves I played the top gear special events completely honestly and there was no greater feeling of accomplishment in the game than finally golding them. My last two I took advantage of the shortcut glitch to get them done and out of the way. Cheating...I personally would say not as I have already done them cleanly. Others may say differently, that's their problem.

Lets just end this corner cutting argument now. Remember, it's just a game. Nice to see you join GTPlanet Amo 👍

Never argue with a fool, they will only lower you to their level and beat you with experience.

Wasn't intending to direct this towards you personally.
Also Chamonix has had that snowbank part of the track for other past TTs many months ago so idk what PD is doing.

No problem then. I've given my opinion and said all I've wanted to say on the matter, so I'm gonna end my part of the discussion here so it doesn't escalate any further. I just wanna say one last thing tho to give all the elite drivers on here something to think about. You all have great talents and driving skills. Is it really worth it to damage your reputation and lose respect just to gain a second or so on the track. Thats all I have to say. Peace.

I know solution for this..
Now you all ( I know you are allready tryed it) just go and cut and break Amo's time :)
Nah just kidding, why are you all so serious?
It's nice weather outside, maybe go try it and take looong breath :)
