Tuning cars in GT5

Mentioning sidesteps obviously means for pickup trucks, 4x4s ( SUVs ) & i guess rally raid 4x4s that are ( hint Mitsubishi Pajero RR from GT4 & possibly more ) petrol & diesel, turbo/ non-turbo setups.

Aero modifications in a WIND tunnel PLEASE!

Yeah I really hope there is a functional wind tunnel after seeing it in that video although I'm not sure what exactly it could be used for, perhaps if there are a variety of body kits/spoilers available for each car you could test them in the wind tunnel to see which gives best cooling, drag coefficient and down force.

Like in Need for Speed Prostreet? (But PD will get the calculations right referring to the performance of the car, in Prostreet Added downforce increased top speed :sly:)

If anyone can get it right, it would be PD.
I just want to turn my street car into a fully worked racing machine, so bodykits, wheels and spoilers are all welcome with open arms.
Roll cages, seats and steering wheels too. :sly:

Well... I guess people are just being careful not to get disappointed if it isn't there

The thing is that the Customization Feature is Ready, the Guy from MeriStation said it and also said that Kaz was very Proud of This Feature:dunce:

I wonder how the tuning shop(s) will work this time. GT has done it in various ways. Do you think we'll have a central tuning location on the map, or have to go into each car dealer and select their tuning arm? I.e. Ford (dealer) - Ford Racing (American cars tuning) / Team-RS (European cars tuning) / M-Sport (Racing models tuning). đź’ˇ

I wasn't aware that it was in a NFS game. Then again, I have only played NFS Shift, and then one time I played an NFS game on an old Sega Genesis (not sure which one it was).

PD and Turn 10 would make sweet wind tunnels and dynos. I think SIMBIN could make a good one too.

Huh?
So you're saying GT5 should not have any aftermarket body parts which affect aerodynamics?
And we shouldn't have aftermarket seats and steering wheels too, which of course affect the weight of the car?

Huh? Heck no. I absolutely think it should!

-Engine and drivetrain swaps/conversions (Including cross-platform) would be fantastic, but again, must be done right. As unfortunate as it is, a Quad-turbo W16 will NOT fit in a Peel P50 (I reckon the motor with 7-speed transmission is no less than twice as large as the car).

I totally agree.
The engine should fit in the car, even though a fiat panda with an enzo's engine and awd would definitely be interesting. :D

Btw, glad to see, that nomino was the only who misunderstood my post.

Greetings.

Dammit, my bad.
I thought you opposed the idea as your post had a sarcastic tone, well to me at least.
A wind tunnel and aerodynamic parts would be awesome.

Indeed. You have no idea how much time I would spend in GT5 in the wind tunnel and testing track alone. That ALONE would be like an entire metagame in of itself.

Now you got me thinking of all kinds of cool stuff with those features!

I just want to mention that Nomino started arguments with me on 3 different threads, one of which was mine and I took some time to create it, made a poll too. When I ignored him and not replied he still posted with personal insults aimed at me. Due to his posts, me reporting them and the ensuing investigation the thread was closed. He then sent me a pm saying "Sorry" in the title and when I opened it it said "Haha, sucker". It seems like his sole purpose is to cause problems. I know this is off topic but I just wanted you guys to know you're not alone, I've dealt with his attitude first hand too. :grumpy:

For the record, my post was founded in sarcasm. Nomino never has anything to say.

i'm not trying to destroy anyones hopes but this isn't nfs. i think that with the whole parts and aerodynamics will just be purely to do with the suspension shocks and the settings of these. so the lower the car the better the aerodynamics. i personally believe kaz has made a error because they won't spend time gathering information of thousands even millions of kits. i hope i'm wrong because i'd enjoy customising the car. thats just my two cents

they could do the tokyo extreeme drift 2 way, 1 body kit.

Well, not every car needs to have a kit, obviously not the Veyron or 458. But I think you are right. With the realease date less than half a year away PD just doesn't have enough time to create all the models. There is a chance though that they started a while ago and kept it a secret. That sounds a bit unlikely though.

It will be preferable to have an open diff welded rather than an LSD, because welding an LSD is purely a waste of money

Oh yea sorry, got mixed up. Only just learnt the differences between them :indiff:
Do you think it would be a good option to have? Welding the diffs?

I don't think it's needed at all. You can just go and buy an lsd and a welded diff is just that but crappier. I think it would only make sense for drag-racing

I'd like them to match Forza 3 for tuning/customization options. Beyond that I'm not fussed and anything extra is a nice bonus/pleasant surprise. I'm not expecting a lot of bodykits (F3 doesn't have many either really) but the under-the-hood stuff is really important I think. Gran Turismo basically pioneered the whole idea of taking a crappy car in a game and upgrading it so it would be a shame if they couldn't at least match their main competitor in this area.

THERES A LOT OF CARS THAT IS MISSING.. i hope in the real game i'll see all.. almost all..
there is no....
Mitsubishi Fto
Dodge Challenger
Chevrolet Camaro (Bumble Bee)
Civic
PORSCHES!
Saleen
Bentley
Suzuki ESCUDO, Toyota GT1
and many many more...

and... i hope the developers of GranTurismo see this...
this things should be added to add more spices. LOL :D
-Body-kits
Tire Pattern
Exhaust muffler so its different sounds. :D

Car damage is great.. haha.. i saw the video.. its awesome.
and the interior of the cockpit./ :D

holy yeah! its should have drivtrain convertion.. example.
Front Wheel drive - Rear Wheel Drive..
example...
Integra for drifting. :)
or... FOUR WHEEL DRIVE- REAR WHEEL
example.. subaru wrx sti impreza or evolution for better drift. :D

I would like to put a NASCAR V8 into some smaller sports cars, and try to replicate Tanner's Scion. 5.7 liter V8 at 9000 RPM would be real fun is any car come to think of it. I was not looking forward to such an option until I watched Tanner talk about driving his Scion. All of a sudden it seemed like a brillant feature. Rather than adding a massive turbo, and the only difference would be power and the delivery of that new founded power, you could add a HUGE motor instead. Then you could feel a big difference in the handling characteristics.

Its good to see you like a lot of cars, but this thread isnt a Wishlist đź’ˇ

oh.. btw, does it have "DYNO"?

Still Unknown, but I Think we'll have a Wind Tunnel.

Jeeeeez, Triple Post!!!111.....Theres a small Button that Says Edit, use it, thats better.

About Engine/Drivetrain Swaps, That's something some of us have been asking for, a lot.

Not always is a Huge Engine, sometimes it could be a smaller, Lighter, But more powerful or with the same power, I Believe that engine swaps its not only about engine size and power, you have to remindWeight and Weight Distribution. Exmaple: GT-300 Supra, it Had* a 3S-GTE Engine, because for only 300 Hp permitted its better to use a smaller, Lighter engine which also now relocates way closer to the middle, making the car better in cornering and that stuff...so Supra+Modded 3S-GTE=Awesome!

*Said Had because I Dont know the actual one.
