Arsenal are faring better against Bayern this evening than I imagined they would... 50% possession and Bayern haven't had a single shot on target....

... oh wait, the game hasn't started yet.

:p

I hope Arsenal can pull something out of the bag tonight, but unfortunately I think Bayern will win comfortably. Worse possible scenario is that Arsenal 'do a Scotland' and play like demons, win the game on the night but lose the tie due to away goals or a freak last minute own goal... what are the chances?

That was not a goal from Podolski there...

Oh, and Thiago would walk into the Barca team, really not sure how he wasn't getting matches there.

He was one of many that got snatched from under our noses in the summer thanks to Ed Woodward.

Except for the fact that, like Koke, he had absolutely no intention of going there.

With the right amount of money, players will go anywhere.

Not always. There are a few cases that Benfica could snatch a few players but they went to other team, because of more money, but also they have no intention of going to that particular club

Even if United offered more than Bayern, I doubt Thiago would prefer to play for a team looking pretty likely to start plummeting after their manager for 27 years left over the world's best team, especially as he (presumably) would have known that he would be able to make the first team.

That and with sponsorship deals from being with the world's best club would probably increase the money he would receive anyway.

Edit: 🤬, if Muller got that penalty I'd be 30 euro richer.:ouch:

Sooo arsenal going ANOTHER season without a trophy then.
Still the FA Cup to lose.

Respectable result for Arsenal in the second leg, I was fearing a 5-0 drubbing. They struggle when Ozil has a bad game, that is very evident.

Arsenal got a better result than I was expecting, they worked really hard and put up a fight with the, possibly, strongest team in Europe. I was pleasently surprised.

Atletico had a easy win against AC Milan, easier than I expected.

Arsenal did well last night and at least they put up a fight, Ozil went missing again, quite surprised at the scoreline in the other game, Atletico Madrid are definitely a dark horse this year...

Played with a Hamstring apparently, not happy he got injured, feel we could have rested some of our best players, now we don't have Ozil for that all important league run in.

Wonder if Wenger kept the receipt to the trophy cabinet he bought in september. Lol.

Don't think Man City will ever have a better chance of beating Barcelona than they will get tonight, Barca have been very indifferent this season by their high standards..

Paraphrasing the British commies after every replay of the not-given Messi penalty:

Replay 1 - "There's the penalty shout"
Replay 2 - "That might be a penalty"
Replay 3 - "That could be called a penalty"
Replay 5 or 6 - "Ok, that's a penalty"

So far:
- Lescott should have earned a yellow card.
- The referee didn't play advantage in a really good play by Barça.
- One penalty not given for Messi.
- Barça had a goal incorrectly ruled out for off-side.

Is Demichelis the Linesman all of a sudden?!

Up to that point a valiant, brave effort for the Multi-hundred million pound team against a team who has been leaking goals left right and center*

Dont tell the commentators the last part.

Lescott mistake and its over...just like that...
