I tried a tad of late braking which was successful the previous lap (or foolishly late braking in this case:dunce:), needless to say it didn't work the second time round :D

Sureshot, weren't you in the blue ruf for that race?
I thought it was us who crashed together after the first lap, because you braked and your car swerved to the left, while i wanted to go to the right.

Another Video

M3 battle at SSR5 Reverse between Famine, Stevisiov and I.

3 abreast into the fast chicane round the back of the track...

And another.

This one is another M3 battle, this time at El Capitan. I know the cars Dustdriver and myself were driving (green M3 and black M3 respectively), but had to guess at the others, and I have no idea who was driving the red M3....

If you know, let me know, and I'll redo it.

Thats a great video, and one which reminds me how much I hated the M3, also the race where I pulled off the throttle on the back straight thinking it was the end of the race, only to find it wasn't the last lap, not only did I do it once, but I did it again the next lap. good racing though.

That was it, well done Bert. :)

I remember me being in an M3 at El Capitain, and I remember being last so I think I was the red one, Daan.

Ha ha cheers Daan that was a good one, so sorry if i hit one of you guys but my rear end stepped out ;). daan i kinda locked you out of burts draft lol :P, it was mine haha and then i went on to do the switch back on Bert. Super great fun and the M3 is one of my favs.

cheers daan

The group photo from Roo is a beautiful image

Oh and Bert, I totally didn't recognize you with the beard  At first I thought the special guest was Nick Heidfeld

Haha lol, you're not the only one who thinks i look like Nick Heidfeld.
I actually had to look it up on google, because i had no idea how the guy looked.

More video goodness.

Mustangs in the Deep Forest Gateaux.

And

Mustangs vs a lone Solstice at Fuji 2005 GT

The deep forest one was weird.
I though there was only 1 yellow mustang in the race, and due to the way ren-tec passed Famine and Daan gave me the impression it was the same yellow mustang following me the entire race :)
But i had doubts because in the last laps this mustang took other racing lines as before and was a lot faster. I found out only after the race what had happened :)
Even in my replay you couldn't see it in the rear view mirror, even if you looked for it.

Much fun with Mustangs.

Can't wait for the GT300 battles - Sjaak and I, MR-S and Subaru side by side for mile after mile, me shouting "Comeoncomeoncomeon!" like some demented Top Gun reject. Great fun.

Mustangs @ Fuji 2005 GT.
Isn't this the race where I wedged the DS2 under the corner of the screen while I ran accross the room to get another can of Pepsi - having previously crashed the lone Corvette during the M3 battle @ El Capitan as I finished the previous can?

These two latest races remind me of something else too. Prior to the event I was worried that my dipping two wheels off the track at times may have been frowned apon. However, at Deep Forest and Fuji we see some off track excursions that could be considered less than clean racing. No worries - if everyone else is comfortable with that then I can accept it, but for any potential newbies reading this don't worry too much about the standard of your driving.

My best GT300 battles were against Famine @ Tokyo246 where we kept swapping places, and one time exited the main straight three abreast with a lapped car, and against Roo @ Sarthe where I came from 9 seconds behind to take the win after pushing him along the straight on the last lap. Unfortunately neither of these races took place on Lan3 where Daan was recording. :(

I want to see you smash me off :]

Yeah grass cutting is not the best but in lan races you can't help going off when your pushing to go your fastest and lap one is so hard to guess what you got under you ;)

I remember you doing that, but I'm not sure if it was that race or not.

The main thing for me in that race was coming off the final turn in 4th, slipstreaming and then coming alongside Famine, just as the race quits.... I would have gotten him to if it wasn't for those darn first 2 finishing well clear!

I agree. I always crash, or go off, on lap 1 of a new car/track combo just as I get used to my car.

If they didn't want people to cut that corner they wouldn't put the concrete there.

If it's good enough for Kimi Raikkonen, then I'm sure it's good enough for us :)

Daan, in the Fuji video, it was Sureshot in the pontiac, Ren-tec in the red mustang, me in the white mustang.

Really? Sureshot moved up before Ren-tec did? Are you sure?

:dopey:

Sorry, Nigel. don't beat me up...

Thanks Steve. I'll edit the title and re-upload. if I'm still alive...

I crashed into sureshot at last corner of the previous race, I let him take the victory so he moved from an M3 to a pontiac, whilst I moved from the M3 into the mustang. I remember racing the red mustang of Ren-Tec for pretty much all of the fuji race.

I've re-uploaded it.

Mustang vs 2 Solsticeses at Apricot Hill will be up in a minute.

Here we go

Hey, just because I couldn't break the 28s on SS5 reverse!

The retractable Faminecam had popped up to get some shots.....

 I just got that.... :dunce:

I usually try to drive to the standards allowed by the license tests, but the occasional error does result in a 'F1 @ Fuji wet' line - wouldn't Fuji wet make for an interesting license test in GT5?

I agree. I always crash, or go off, on lap 1 of a new car/track combo just as I get used to my car.

As do I at times but I was referring more to cutting corners and regular use of run off areas, something that I believe can result in a penalty if it gains you time or position in a F1 race.

As I said in my previous post, no worries. Maybe I could have placed better had I been to a previous lan and known what was allowed, but I was there for the fun, not for the prizes. The point of that paragraph was not to register any disappointment in the quality of driving, but rather to encourage anyone who has been thinking of attending a Lan but not yet done so, to not worry too much about the quality of their driving. As long as you don't take shortcuts, wallride and ram cars from the road then you should be fine - though even I have resorted to such dirty tactics myself in some 200 point races.

Lol thats the one where i found out i had a throttle poblem which started in the last two laps of fuji but i really noticed it here. Dam 10 seconds back after two laps :yuk:

Don't worry i get my revenge at hong kong haha!!!!

Would now be a good time to tell you that I've not got a replay of that?

EDIT: I've got it from Bert's videos, but for some reason Windows Movie Maker crashes when I try to edit them.

I'll try and get them edited somehow.

Thats no problem Daan and i thank you for making the effort to make these vids for us, top man 👍

The drawback of my capturing device :) wmm doesn't like them for some reason.
I believe Intervideo DVD creator can open them, and so does Pinnacle Studio 10.

edit: just did a quick search on google and got the answer why it doesn't work in wmm.
wmm can't handle mpeg 2 videos, so you have to convert them first to avi or something.

On to the GT300s now.

Unknown driver in an MR-S Autobacs at Grand Valley East.

Another unkown driver in an unknown car at La Sarthe. (I think it's a Garaiya due to the red light flashing before the red line)
