Mayaman, nice to hear of some bits arriving.
I just remembered a recent post you started about tactile etc.

If you do wish to further discuss such at some point maybe that be the best place to continue it and keep this thread more on topic with general ongoings /purchases.
Left888:
Wooden Monstrosity?
Banned?
Proof of such?
Rather than spew more rubbish chatter or insults. I would gladly ask "left888" to be more creative than distruptive. If he wants a challenge then I put it to him to create a new thread all about tactile. Their is no definitive type info thread or forum, never mind dedicated website I know of or have seen that covers such.
No doubt Lefty you could get lots of information from your own vast experience and the guys you talk so much of at i-racing... Be great if you covered the differences in performance and how various models compare? So easy for you to do a really informative and member helpful topic on it, ahh cheers matey. 👍
Go ahead Darren, please lets see you cover the many aspects involved and required in the vast mine field it is. Of course giving information on the many different tactile models varying from approx $10 - $550 each. Lets not forget isolation as it is essential for performance covering the cheap rubber isolators at a few bucks all the way upto $60 each and industrial spring coil isolators costing around and beyond $100 each. What do they do for wooden floors or people in timber based houses or apartments etc?
I assume of course you or your buddies have personally bought such out of personal hobbyist interests? Of course with a goal of testing and comparing them against one another in various roles? What's that, oh your not sure?
If not, then being the helpful guy I am, I recommend you head over to "Parts Express". They recently started selling "Buttkicker" so they are now the largest and best dealer to find all the major brands and products for this tactile nonsense.
Heads up...
I wouldn't want to suggest my own ideas are certain to give a good configuration and well not before testing when building can verify such.
However...
Approx $2000 will get one of each model just to learn and gain some knowledge. Although don't forget your amplification, cables etc. Of course if you were to get silly and decide to go for a unique but specialist build complete with a performance based "wooden monstrosity platform" then a configuration like my own will come in around $6500 in tactile and amps. Don't worry though as they are giving away a free baseball cap with the Behringer EP amps I recommend. Now having 50 tactile would be silly Darren, no need to over do it, of course ahh you were being funny, eek.
Right well whenyou get that lot then see about adding room acoustic tiles and say a decent 7.1 audio system with recommended speakers for around another $4000.
Of course if being adventurous and experimenting then adding another 4x additional subwoofers into the actual cockpit is optional but worth considering if you have an appropriate platform for the cockpit to be placed on. Well it is just that Clark themselves recommend such for large areas or multiple tactile and using solid timbers were possible. I can only assume it is an important factor as is creating individual isolated platforms to minimise tactile crosstalk (tricky and needs various attempts) over say just using some naked 80/20 bolted together and a few cheap rubber isolators on the corners or a typical metal cockpit but of course you'd know best. Best allow another $1000 to cover materials for this if considering such a platform to build up from.
I am sure the community would benefit greatly with you doing such in the future..
I am only a dreamer with stuff in boxes you see although if you need some spare chrome and bolts. Might be your man.
As always thanks for the entertainment...
