Let's face it Top Gear will at most regain the popularity it had in the early 90's.
Can't wait to see what the real trio shelve out on Netflix!

I disagree, old Top Gear was "car" show, you wouldn't watch it unless you were in to cars... much like 5th gear is these days... What I think the BBC and the producers will have learned from the rise of Old NEW Top Gear, is to make it a car themed entertainment show, in some cases (I'll mention again the Vietnam special because I think it was one of the greatest things I've seen on TV) it was more of a mash-up between a Travel show, and Scrapheap challenge than it was a car show... and my parents (in their 60's/70's) laughed at loud at a number of other episodes I've watched in their presence... I guarantee if it had just been a car review show, they wouldn't even have been watching in the first place...

... of course, the producers may decide to take it back down that route... and make it more "niche", but I'm betting they are going to try and strike as fast as possible before Clarkson establishes his own show.
 
Yeah maybe, but I don't know if they would go the same route, after all that was all Jeremy's idea and without the same protagonists it might look like a rip off.
 
That's what I was wondering, are they are going to keep the format similar to TG and just use knock off names to describe similar segments with a 'fake' Stig. Or are they going to go down a totally new and original format.

It's going to be interesting to see the rivalry between the two series, like the good old TG/5th Gear one. I hope ITV wins the contract because I'm not so keen on it being with Netfllix.
 
So Clarkson said that BBC asked him back a few weeks ago, Evans hit back saying on his radio show that Jezza must be hearing voices in his head and the press are saying that they are having 'a war of words', Evans tweeted this morning 'Clarkson and me in a war??, Bagsy me Switzerland!'

According to The Sunday Times’ driving section, “Jeremy Clarkson has claimed that the BBC asked him to return to present Top Gear, just days before Chris Evans, the DJ and television presenter, was named as his successor.”

Clarkson reportedly declined saying that he couldn’t work on a show that was going to be “neutered.”

The BBC denies offering him a new contract, but he told The Sun “I had a meeting with a BBC executive last week and they asked if I’d come back to Top Gear. But it was never an option, even with one million people signing the Bring Back Clarkson petition – for which I was extremely humbled. Too much has gone on.

I don't like the idea of the "New Not-Top-Gear" being on Netflix.


It isn't [BEEP]ing available in Russia and English Speaking Countries don't care enough to upload the episodes on another site somehow.
And even if Russia had Netflix, the show would still probably be freaking dubbed.

Poor joke aside, I'm hoping that the Netflix rumors are indeed true if no-one else is willing to pick them up.
 
So this Sunday then is the last of Top Gear as we know it, its the end of an era (sort of), I will most definitely be watching and I will also tape it so I can watch it again in the near future..

...does anyone like me expect them to show some sort of montage of their best bits from the last 13 years as like a tribute and a swansong?

I think they (Jeremy) only said it once. Or maybe twice. Then there was this

And apparently the final episode got Hammond a bit emotional.

They're quite clearly re-enacting a 1980s episode of Doctor Who - with James as the Doctor and the irritating little scrotum as the Master.
 
So, I haven't heard anything about it, but what's gonna happen with the SIARPC that they had filmed? Who's gonna do the interview, if they have one?
