update 1.05 - Ensure you follow the AUP when posting

Did I read correctly? We got leaderboards now? Or only online event leaderboards? I´m still at work but in 30 mins I´m at home to check it out...

3. Prologue even had a better online system with SET ONLINE EVENTS to enter - nothing like this here. The game should cater for both those who want to set up rooms how they choose (subject to point 1 above) and also provide set online events so you could say choose an online nurburgring event for GT1 etc without entering a room where some chap has the ring on and is just mucking around drifting etc etc

I agree with this 100%. I haven't seriously ventured into the online side of GT5 because of this. When I decide I fancy a race, I want to go and race without the hassles of unpredictable user created rooms or of pre-arranged GTP races.
 
my game freezes during the seasonal events when i race someones ghost..it freezes in the exact spot everytime(about half between exit of final corner and finish line on the 197hp time trial) works fine so far without a ghost.

Anyone else have this issue?

Ok, is there anyway of reducing HP, i changed the oil of my challenger and now it doesn't qualify for the special events..

I'm afraid you'll have to enter it in some B-spec races (or race it yourself) untill the oil is older and you have the right amount of bhp.

You can also (have Bob) drive a few races and buy another ofcourse.
 
Has anyone tired the update via USB method yet? My crappy internet wont work on my PS3 and it will prob remain that way until Jan 6th. I would hate to miss out on those extra credits.:grumpy:

Alright thanks, a general message to anyone trying these new events out is dont change the oil on the cars..

after you finish a race in A-spec it gives you the option to restart without having to go back to the event screen again, nice.

It looks like PD is really going to be beefing up GT via these updates. Kaz even mentioned he want's to update the game at a pace of one update every month.

At this rate, this time next year this game is going to be a completely different monster, an evolution of what we have now... All of the people who whined and bxtched about the game are about to look real stupid.

How are they gonne look stupid? The game should not have launched in the state it did, they were right, despite Pd are doing a good job of improving it.

425hp dead on(can get 425 with the racing filter as well but I wanted the extra noise)
 
So guys, can anyone give some information on how the "No-HUD" option works? Can you just turn the full HUD on/off or even parts of it? And can you map a hotkey to toggle the HUD?

No, they dont..................... You can avoid Ai easliy enough, and just a bump from Ai does not do much damage if at all.

It's not so much that they'd have to recode the AI, but the races are balanced in a particular fashion right now. Adding penalties for damage would completely throw off the balance (some would say in a good way, but I digress). So they at least need to rebalance things. That probably takes more time than just tossing the feature into online and practice.

Again, false, there is nothing they need to change. Just race the way you would and if you hit a wall goiong 200 MPH your car is damaged. Thats it. Also, for people who dont want it it could be turned off and on, like many other racing game.

Yeah you are right but maybe the will bring an new version out in end of 2011?? Because if each update will have 500MB many people will need an new harddisk...

Also why is this patch called 1.05? Did I miss the 1.04??

And what is with leaderboards now? are they in?
 
To those who may be wondering why you cant back up your save file, you need to start the game again and save. then, once you quit, you can back up. I thought it was something wrong at first with my save or ps3.

Sorry if this has been answered, but I didn't see an explanation for this in the first 18 pages of this thread (where I'm at now).

Anyways, this is a really nice update. Now just a few more things left for PD to, and in my opinion, the game will be near perfect.

No, all people with 40GB PS3 will look real stupid a year from now, because they won't have the free space to store 12 600mb updates and GT5.
And what about the people that don't have internet acces on their PS3's? The case and the manual don't say:"You NEED to be able to get online so we can fix the broken game we sold you! Oh and keep in mind you'll need several hours to download the updates and install the game."

The game was completely functional upon release besides the server issues that EVERY online game experiences these days.

Everybody said "JUST REALESE THE GAME ALREADY" and when they did they complain and bxtch about every minute detail. If sony would have let them PD would spent another year delvolping the game, but you know what?! id rather have 90% of it now and get the other 10% via patch. If you spent hundrs of hours playing this game since release and you have nothing more to do thats YOUR problem. Maybe you should go get a job or a woman. Maybe you would have something else to complain about besides PD not developing the game to YOUR opinion of what it should be.
