Update imminent?

I agree. I'm just counting the days now. Will be racing like I've never done before, tomorrow. I just watched a bunch of Kaz interviews and a 30 min doc about GT that was shot during the development of GT4 Prologue. I've recalled a lot now why I've been so hopeful of PD this whole time.

And, can't forget that Kaz has stated since the release of GT5, that it is still just the start of where PD is taking the virtual driving simulator.

👎 with the naysayers, I say.

Before that Kaz also said no DLC, and when GT5 shipped that it was going to be a finished game.

Here's hoping its the latter now.

I know what you mean, but that's why he doesn't even make specific promises anymore. You gotta know by now that he's always said that he can't foretell the changes that happen over the course of the development of a game.

He has an image for it at the start, and the end product is completely different from what he was expecting. He doesn't even specify anymore because you know who.

That was one year before Sony forced the release of GT5. He mentioned that it WILL be a finished game and there will be no need for DLC. He's not lying intentionally. It was inadvertent.

When he said it will be a finished game when it's released, he never knew when he HAD to get the game out by. He always said the marketing decisions by Sony will tell the release of the game. It's a dictatorship :sly:. Besides, this is the first time we're seeing a product of this nature from PD. GT5 is by far the most realistic, sim-wise and graphics-wise, of any other game they've produced. It's also the most "controversial". Give him a break already. Fourteen years straight and we're still demanding everything of them.

I can't imagine all that damn pressure he's undertaken. It's not even good pressure he's receiving from his fans, anymore. It's annoying.

I believe we'll find out at E3 what is going on. Calm down people.
This.

And stop being completely negative toward the work they've achieved. He's a revolutionary. If you don't have a clue why, then :crazy::dunce:

And be grateful. Or play forza instead.

I understand. I love this game and I have the previous 4. The GT series is a great franchise. But like previous people have stated there are so many shortcomings with this game that we did not get it is a little rediculous.

Kaz had plenty of time to do all of the stuff he wanted, (don't want to find the picture of the timeline when GT5 was supposed to be released) why he didn't get there is beyond you, me or anyone else on this forum. The only people that probably knew what he wanted in GT5 was him. Lets not forget when he said the game could be released at any time. Maybe that was before they had the back of box typed up.

I don't know what to expect from this next update neither does anyone else to say it's going to be huge in size is wishful thinking. I hope it is huge and adds tons of features and some that were left out. Will I be dissapointed if it's not? Yes.

In an interview, he stated GT5 Prologue was, at the time, all that was accomplished because they started the project from scratch. On an impossibly better, yet more difficult to work with, system than PS2.

Same here man. I'd feel completely let down if this next update falls short of my expectations, which are up there. But I'm telling you, I'm 99% sure that this next update won't be a bust. There's going to be something special, for sure. It seems weird to me to think it won't be good. When's the last time they released a significant update? Over 3 months ago. All signs point to an update that'll make up for lost time. I only gave you one sign. And I've repeated the others far too much now.

GT1, a car would take a week to complete, or 1 month if they ran into trouble. GT5, premiums take 6 months. They strove for the most realistic aspects that could possibly have been ACHIEVED for each system.

I'm not exactly expecting DLC.

As long as they put in proper race rules and flags and remove the terrible penalty system they already have I will be happy. It can't be too hard as GT Time Trial had flags.

Here is hoping that the PSN / store services will be back up, period. My only gripe with AAA game developers, is that I notice a trend that they tend to abandon their most successful creations. I don't know why this is. Perhaps their response is to make the next game, instead of building upon their existing one, often times failing hard at doing so in their next attempt. OF all my favorite top 10 games in the world that I have played over the years, the creator either left, abondoned, or failed hard at his next project, and title never to return again, nor to improve or update his existing marvel that so many fans yearn for. GT5 might be joining this clan.

I know what you mean, that happened with some of my fav games as well. The game developers try too hard and fail harder, I gess. :ouch:

But this developer aims for one thing, and this game doesn't have a story or a change of gameplay. It's all about driving. Unless, they move on to do Tourist Trophy or anything other than GT.

Did someone mention Spec II?

That would be incredibly astounding and simply brilliant.

How do we know there is an update imminent?
